Technology has come a long way, that's for sure. I had a huge older Digitech floor modeler that I threw away, it was junk. And I said, "Never again." I recently got a small Valeton GP-100 just for kicks. I use it a lot, and it impresses me for all the smaller it is. It's not part of my main rig, I use it to compliment what I do have just for a change. Sometimes a change is good.
I have that same Valeton as you. It's impressive for the cost. I got mine mostly for some bass effects. I don't use the guitar effects as much because I already have that rig setup. But a lot of "old boys" might not give it a chance given that the name doesn't compete with a company like Boss, and it's under $200. It's solid build quality, too!
Awesome video. I really like the idea of gear like this but don't have time or patience (lol) to dial in a great tone. This sounds like it comes with grear tone right out of thr box and is easy to switch for more great tone. Really appreciate your effects on this video.
I have a couple Nux devices. Very well made. I do like the fact you have an effects loop and that you can touch the send level and return level. Wish a couple of my amps had that. Excellent review.
Today, you don't need a $600 one trick pony amp pedal to sound good, this thing can sound good, a pod go, etc we live in an age where we can get great tones for cheap but it does take a little work regardless of the unit. I believe its way way easier to get a solid tone out of something like this vs a budget amp/mic
Great demo. I have the 400. Didn’t even know the 30 was a thing or I may have chosen that one. (30 is sturdier and I think the screen is bigger) I use a Chromebook with backing tracks into a mixer so this thing is perfect. Now have to stew on weather the 30 would be better for me. lol
This and the Valeton GP-200 pretty much put a full digital rig at near impulse buy prices. Essentially you get a whole room full of amps for under $300. You don't have to sell your old amps to buy it, and it definitely extends any existing rig to a ridiculous extent.
As a relatively new player this was a no brainer for me. It's easy enough to use for a noob when it comes to amps and effects and I can either plug it into headphones or to the studio speakers and get the sound I want at any volume. Found the presets not very usable. The majority of them seem to be there to "show off" functionality rather than sound good BUT either you can create your own from scratch or download patches and IR's to your hearts content and very quickly get the guitar sound that suits your play style and gear. Budget price but a very high performer in my book.
Does it have a Johnny Winter Super Twin dimed and all the treble up all the way setting? Got the big one next week, 65, I like the cab simulators and there is a drum machine you say? Since those Iceman models are never coming in may spring for this instead. Speaking of Ibanez, Edge 3 tremolo, should I trash it or keep working on it?
Lol so Robert can play when he is not trolling the trolls :D I can understand the Helix can put off some people ... it can get quite complicated even if it is very good. As for the presets, rule of thumb, delete them all ... they always do not do justice to the unit.
@@RobertWJackson Ha ha I got you! Love what your doing always! But seriously I own a jcm2000 and during the pandemic I bought a oversized Mesa cab and triple rec. They are both great!! Also I just saw judas Priest here in in mo, bad ass show!!!!!
@@RobertWJacksonYeah, I figured as much. You just lay it down and leave it alone in those mixes. Nothing wrong with keeping it simple bro. I really prefer that, because a lot of guitar players who track their bass make me facepalm so hard. 😆

It checks all the boxes for me bro

Sounds good for playing with headphones in the wee hours, but I love a real amp feeling. 🎉

If you can't dial in multiple great tones on the NUX MG-30 it's on you.

That sounds pretty darn good 🎉

Why all the hate for the recto?? I love the flubby tone of early godsmack and disturbed. ...I really do. Marshall is always amazing too😁

Would've been cool breaking out the bass. Oh well, next video, maybe.
I’m not a bass player, dude.
@@RobertWJackson with all your guitars, I thought you may of had a bass in your arsenal. Never mind.
I own three, actually. But I’m just a guitar player who has to track a bass every now and then. By no means am I a bass player.
