I always wondered why this is not standard. As minis tend to rust easily this is such an easy upgrade. I would think its still a good idea to wax the inside arc. Just for the added protection. And then fitting these. I find It strange that no other mini channel has shown this. Is this such an unknown thing?
thanks Frans, I try to find unique mini points of interest, I personally got a little bored with all the "body shop and welding video" channels so hopefully we can add a little more variety to the mini-community.
@@classicminiculture9800 I know what you mean. I love to see people work on the mini. But indeed, most are just body work. Col from classic mini diy is great but he is not that active atm. I also like Stevenstonmotorco for their somewhat different way of working with the mini. Also I would love to see more guys just doing small things. Restoring a classic is a small channel who does what I like. Take 1 thing and restore it. I really want to do stuff like that but still don't have my mini. I am searching the net now and then, trying to find some used stuff to start making parts for myself. But can't seem to find good sites to find them
I should really fit some of these wheel arch protectors to my restored SPi. My original plan was to keep the car in a dry garage and only venture out when the weather is suitable. However, this doesn't always work in the UK as even on a good day with no rain in the weather forecast you can still end up with a wet Mini.
I really like your heater pipe extentions. I was looking for elbow fitying at plumbing supply stores and never found the correct pipe size. Will you make some more for sale?
Isn't this fender liner going to be a dirt trap? Because mud is probably going to get stuck in between the rear lower part where additional mud flaps could be mounted. Modern cars have these liners indeed from standard, but that isn't really for rust prevention, more for stone chip prevention and sound dampening. I'm curious how it's going to preform.
Not really, what you could not see is that these liners have a 5cm lip at the rear that goes under the body, removing the need for a mudflap, last generation minis have these fitted and it does seem to help delay rust in the wing.
Will you show us how you fitted the left hand arch liner. I have a set of these to fit but accomodating the fan has caused a delay. With regard to the heater hose redirectors, a great solution, would you consider producing them for other mini owners?
If you have the additional electric fan you do need to carefully cut around it in order for them to fit correctly, unfortunately, they don't provide predefined cut lines for the fan, even though they did for the rest of the body line............ On the 3d printing I would love to offer them to others, but its an open source file from thingiverse.com, so you are free to print it yourself but I don't have the rights to sell or distribute it commercially......sorry
Only because the car had been wax oiled 3 months ago before its APK/MOT, so I was comfortable with the protection, but YES I would recommend it when closing off any panel.

As a mini owner and cancer survivour, i so much appreciate your videos. Excellent stuff!
thank you and I wish you all the best
I often wondered if their were wheel arch liners for the Mini, and here there are. Great job. Now on my wish list
Couple of handy modifications👍
Like Both ideas … thanks for sharing
Those arch liners look like a great fit, I always thought it was odd they didn’t have anything like that as standard.
I've always thought the same thing seeing that minis tend to rust in the scuttle panel and rear of fender(wing).

Fully relate to that Graham, I moved from Sheffield to the Netherlands, but didn't see any improvement in the weather ;(
Liked and subscribes. very well put together video... great content. new sub :D
thank you, appreciated
Mooie upgrade maar kun je een foto maken hoe je de arch liner aan de linkerkant hebt aangepast zodat het past met de extra elektrische ventilator

sorry it's an open source file, so I can't sell them, the drawings are free to download from Thingiverse.com

It would be great if you could do an update in a year or so to see how well they have worked
Will add that to the list......thanks for the suggestion
any reason why you didn't first clean and add a fresh layer of waxoyl or other rust inhibitor to improve the odds of success?

Hate it when UK owners use non UK part names...No to fender - yes to wing!
