Hello. I have a strong feeling that this fruit will develop to maturity (ripen) and this has less than 5 lbs of plant weight. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍🙂👍 Cheers
Just picked up my first plant from an exotic plants dealer after getting impatient to wait on my seedlings. It's already 120 cm(about 4 ft) but not expecting any flowers for several seasons if any at all. I live in the Netherlands(zone 8a/8b). Just a hobby and an experiment. I took some cuttings because the plant had 3 branches. I'm planning to use this one as sort of the mother plant for multiple new plant and maybe even craft some seedlings on them. First I have to learn to keep them alive before anything else. I can manage mango's and avocado's, etc so I'm hopefull for this experiment. Next concern is not driving my wife crazy with the amount of space this will take indoors during the winter...🤔
Hello. Congratulations on you dragon fruit plant purchase. Best wishes on the plant and seedlings 😀👍 Greetings from San Diego. Experimenting on things is good...... planting dragon fruit plants to me is an experiment as well. Thank you for sharing your story and thank you for watching. 👍😀👍 Cheers
My white dragonfruit cutting has done really well this season; producing branches much bigger and wider than the mother branch, but I had a question about it. The growth is very large and very curled/twisted. It also sometimes has wrinkles in spots. We have had a sort of month-long heatwave in my part of Ohio with pretty much each day of July being at or above 90 degrees, so I was wondering if the problem could be underwatering. I water twice a week and whenever it rains I skip a watering. I don't think I'm overwatering them because they all seem to be happy at least, but I dunno. Have any of yours ever had this problem?
@@sackboymahalo I'm not sure... the branch's sides are pretty flat, but for all I know that could be normal for an immature branch. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it :)
Ok I planted my plant in the ground was that wrong ? I live in Greece we have mild winters it’s doing good but no fruit yet. It was one cutting. I have it one year in the ground. What should I do? Please help me. I also sent you a message on Messenger. Thank you. Maria
Hello. Like you I have the dragon fruit plants planted in the ground. Try adding steer manure compost or chicken manure compost to your plant. The manure compost contains gibberellic that helps in flower production and plant development. Also add slow release 14-14-14 fertilizer. Thank you for your comment and thank you again for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. The dragon fruit can live a productive life of 20 to 30 years (producing fruits). I hope this answers your question. Thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
I planted my cuttings two months ago one cutting grew and the other one did not. Do I need two cuttings or will that one that’s growing produce enough fruit? Thanks
Hello. First year fruiting is less as compared to succeeding years fruiting. Dragon fruit plants tend to produce more fruits as they mature. What variety is your dragon fruit? I ask because some varieties need another variety to cross pollinate with in order to produce fruit. Thank you again for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Hello. It takes longer for a plant to produce fruit if it were started from seed as compared to a cutting. Some varieties of dragon fruit (hybrid varieties) have to be propagated through cuttings to produce fruit similar to the fruits of the mother plant so I would say in this scenario cuttings are required. If the variety of dragon fruit is "true to seed" (meaning a dragon fruit plant will produce the same fruit as the original plant if the plant was started from seed) then cuttings are not required and seeds will work. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
Is there any way you could send me a cutting or some seeds !? I don't see a way to contact you in the description but I would be soooo excited to try and grow one myself . We could trade I grow many different exotic fruits and have plenty of passion fruit seeds 😜
Hello. Probably smaller in size and not as good tasting as compared to the succeeding fruiting season...... we will find out.... thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍🙂👍 Cheers.

Hi sir... Thanks for the reply. What i mean is not the branches of the 4 year old df. I get a cutting from the mother plant and i get it from the main branch around 4 years old. The nodes and the thorns almost not there. It can still grow if i plant it?
I bought a dragon fruit at least 1 meter high that i planted it in early April, is it possible to fruit this summer?(my mom told me it is waste of money because it will not fruit, i need to prove her wrong ASAP 😂) +Is it true that cuting the edge of the leaf/branch helps to produce fruits?(I'm in north Africa my plant get at least 6 hours sunlight)
😆😆😆 Hello. There is a chance it will fruit this summer. Dragon fruit I believe needs more than 6 hours of sunlight to produce flowers. I hope you get the fertile variety (does not require cross pollination to produce fruit). I suggest to add steer manure compost to your plant as well as 14-14-14 (1 tablespoon per month). No need to cut the tip off, it will produce flowers when the branch matures. Thank you again for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
@@carlotrese6996 there are two propable reasons that your dragon fruit plant has not given flowers. 1. Lack of sunlight. Dragon fruit plants need at least 6 hours of sun. There are more daylight hours during spring/summer that is why fruiting season is during those times. Fall/winter has shorter daylight hours so dragon fruit usually stops producing flowers at this time. Your dragon fruit might be located in a shaded area so it might not be getting enough sunlight. 2. Not enough nutrition. Maybe it is not getting enough phosphorus from the soil. Phosphorus helps in flower production. Plants need NPK. NPK’ stand for Nitrogen, Phosphorous, K for Potassium or Potash. I suggest adding 14-14-14 fertilizer to your plants. I also suggest adding chicken manure compost to your plants since it contains gibberellic which also helps in flower production. I hope this helps. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers
