Sounds like it would be great with efficient speakers like Klipsch.

i've had the SQ N150 for 4 months now, absolute delight. I have in in my bedroom where i mostly listen to CBC radio thru a Creek destiny tuner or TV with a PS audio dac. It replaced my beloved Creek destiny amp that died and coudnt get repaired. The Creek had the best midrange i've ever heard on a solid state integrated, and this Luxman beats it hands down. Even richer midrange, but with better transparency and rhythm. It drives a pair of Harbeth P3 ESR, which have a low 83 db rating with no problem, has suprising output for the 10 watts rating. But i mostly listen to low to moderate levels in the bedroom which is a perfect setup. It has a low power consumption of 95 watts as read on my PS audio P5 power plant, and the heat is quite low for a tube amp.

Very nice review, but please take a better microphone that is directly connected to the shirt of the presenter. When high-end audio is presented, poor microphone quality is absolutely counterproductive.

Luxman make no mention as far as I can tell of biasing. So if this amp is not auto biasing and I should want to swap valves where can I get this info from? Thanks for an otherwise informative review.

I made the same observation...........servicing bias of the output tubes as the amp ages is essential !
If it were mine i would try some f my nos tubes (ecc83 or 5751 ) and also 7320/E84L .....I saw potes on the inside but no mention to what they serve..
Swapping output tubes without kowing how they are biased is not a good idea.

Do you think this would be a good fit for klipsch heresy iv’s? Great video!

They should have made this a Single Ended.

It's almost perfect, other then not being able to adjust the bias easily which is very annoying, its 2800 bucks, yet you can't adjust the bias without changing actual resistors.... They say those tubes will last 10 years because of how conservatively they're ran in its design, but what about after that.... do they even give you a service manual explaining how to do it when it's time for people who may not know? I'd love to own it one day, but this is the main issue... there should be adjustment pots on it for each el84 and ecc83... especially for the price, I'd hate to have to mod a 2800 dollar amplifier with something so basic... A 2800 dollar amp shouldn't be fixed bias... I might buy it anyway even despite this, then eventually post a video about it. So, do they tell you how, or do they just say send it in for an exorbitant amount of money?

It's an absolutely gorgeous amp. I just wish it were bigger so I could see those meters from afar.

Funny, I listen to music, instead of watching useless meters!

How do you think this amp might pair with Dynaudio Special Fortys which are 86db? You mention the Luxman being better suited for speakers comfortably above 88db if I understood correctly. Thanks!

See the comment above by D. Richard who paired it happily with Hariett P3 ESRs with an 83 dB rating.

Would this work with my Bowers & Wilkins 705 S2? I am a little concerned since my speakers recommend having 30W-150W 8Ohm on Unclipped Programme

www.musicdirect.com/power-amp/Bob-Carver-275-Stereo-Tube-Amplifier Get this amp, it'll do rated power, bob carver is a great designer.

It might sound great and be well built but Its an unmitigated aesthetic disaster. The shape and proportions are all wrong. It looks top heavy and the positioning of the buttons and controls seem random. Some cheap chinese valve amps look far better and have a more considered design. The VU meters are an unnecessary distraction and a waste of money I think.

Meters are pointless imo. Unless you are in a professional studio.
