  • This is my favorite moment of DCI 2022 for numerous reasons: The source music (Anna Meredith's "Nautilus"), the unique arrangement, the unique body movement and much more.
    This is also my first time using the new MuseScore 4 sounds for brass, wow.... There are a couple issues with the playback I encountered but overall this is a major step in the right direction for free midi software. Do yourself a favor composers/arrangers and try it out!
    All credit to the Bluecoats and their amazing arrangers, staff, and members for putting this together.

    this sounds kinda like if an orchestral brass section played this. definitely a cool vibe.

    Sounds WAY better than m3. However I feel like there’s a bit of an overkill on the echoing

    I mean the keytar is right after this, but to each their own--nice work!

      Don’t get me wrong the keytar was cool but, this part was more unique with the design, props, and music arrangement. Also, minimalistic music hasn’t been done much in DCI so it was great to see it on the field here.

    Musescore 4 playback is somehow worse than before? It lags in the middle and the tonguing is just gone

    • @dillonreese3955
      @dillonreese3955  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Overall the sounds are much more accurate but I agree with you. The tonguing is not very clear but I'm sure they are aware as they have been updating it almost daily since release.

      Musescore 4 is still in beta mode, it will update eventually and get better as time progresses.

      Well it depends on the context, I write a lot of ballads, and it sounds great for those

      the thing that first caught my eye is how wet the reverb is. It bothers me emmensely and doens't work well with stuff that has tight entrances and articulations, like marching band music. Not only that but the ranges are very limited. pedals don't exist, trumpets can't play anything above a high c. Really hope its fixed soon
