Live in south Okc. Lost a home in 1999and lost a home in Moore in 2013 to Tornadoes.Every state has something. But Oklahoma people are the best. Most helpful and outgoing. Not to mention the OU football team.

This was a nice video that captured my experience as well. My wife and I moved with our two young boys to Oklahoma almost a year ago so they would have a place to grow up surrounded by kind people. Oklahoma is definitely not for everyone, but for those of us who it is for, love it.

I grew up in Oklahoma. Moved to California 33 years ago. I love California but I do miss some things about Oklahoma. I miss the warm summer nights (it's cold here is SF). I miss the scent of the buffalo grass after a summer rain. I miss going to the Watermelon Festival in Rush Springs. The sound of cicadas during the dog days of summer. Being rocked to sleep by the sound of thunder in the skies (yes, I find thunder to be soothing). We don't have thunderstorms where I live now. I miss the warm Southern Wind that feels like it could lift you into the sky. (I don't miss the cold Northern Wind, that cuts like a knife, when there's nothing between you and the North Pole but a barbed wire fence!) Every place has it's pluses and minuses. But I'll always have a fondness for Oklahoma, no matter where I roam.

I’m a Canadian that moved to the states 3 years ago. Starting in Los Angeles, then Austin and ended up in Stillwater. I love Stillwater and Oklahoma. The people are amazing. So many places to check out and the best place for kitesurfing is in Oklahoma (salt plains state park). I’m not going anywhere. Okie is special

I grew up in Oklahoma, they are the warmest friendliest people in the country. The Summers are unbearably hot and humid, if you can survive them it’s just a nice place to be.

Born n raised in Lawton, lived in Stillwater while going to Okstate, then moved to Norman n been in Norman since. I love my home state and would not live anywhere else. To me the phrase "we belong to the land!" is amazing and sounds even better in Latin. Nos ad terram pertinent!

Vegas to Slaughterville, quite the shift. I suspect I'd prefer Slaughterville to Vegas but I'd prefer Norman to Slaughterville. I was born and raised in Oklahoma and often had almost debilitating allergies, moved to Pennsylvania and they've almost disappeared. Oklahoma is a very itchy, sneezie sort of place.

Born and raised. There's lots to love. My main complaint is that there is a dearth of public lands. There are little oases scattered throughout the state and I love these little gems. They are typically small, though, and require quite a drive to reach them. For someone who loves to hike, it can get monotonous very quickly.

This is not accurate. Oklahoma has four mountain ranges. They are not the Rocky’s but they are mountains and they are beautiful.

I am glad you watched until the end! 🤓 My parents were making a joke at this point in the video. We, of course, know of and drive through the Arbuckle’s frequently on our way to Lake Texoma and have been to mount Scott many times for summer trips. The joke is an ongoing thing from people who aren’t from Oklahoma (for example, my in-laws during the interview mention they are from Vegas and have lived in Colorado as well as Wyoming where in comparison, our mountains look more like “hills” as they say) and comment by laughing and saying we “don’t have mountains” because they are not the same size as say, the Rocky’s or the Appalachian’s. This video was made while I was attending school for film and I am still learning things about the editing process. Especially when it comes to adding details as simple as the fact that what you are commenting on was meant to be a joke. I put my heart and soul into all that I create and though it may not be a masterpiece, it is still something I cherish very much. I appreciate any constructive criticism that may come my way but please remember to be kind.

Out in Eastern Oklahoma, near Heavener, they have what is billed as the worlds tallest hill and near it is the worlds shortest mountain. Apparently the "Hill" is less than a foot shorter than the technical definition of a mountain, and the "mountain" is about a foot taller than that limit.

Elmore City is a great place for hunting! My father used to have a specific place that he enjoyed going every season where he caught some award winning buck! It can be a very fruitful area for game control. There is also a large hunting park located in Lexington near Slaughterville with a ton of land surrounding the area with plenty of residential property.
