- In a visit to Asheville North Carolina in 2023 Mark and Bob got to visit with some great friends who combined, have an absolute insane collection of cars. The 1990 Saleen in video here is the drivers Saleen Foxbody. This Saleen Mustang was modded with all of the current offerings of the time period some 15 years ago. A Trick Flow "top end kit" was installed along with a Vortech Supercharger. The mods that really separate this from the rest of the Saleen fold is the suspension. The car has a Maximum Motorsports grip package on it with a panhard bar, torque arm, adjustable rear lower control arms, coil over front suspension and the piece de resistance is the 2000 Cobra R Brembo brakes that help whoa all that go.
Having driven and ridden in this 1990 Saleen it is a great ride. The off idle torque is strong enough to pull the car without touching the gas. Even up hill.
Many thanks to Paul for letting us feature this vehicle. It is off the charts nice and actually gets driven and enjoyed even to shows multiple hours away.

More Fun when Tastefully modded..Nicely Done here..❤️❤️👍👍
Great looking car and sounds amazing.
This is a perfect representation of how to modify a fox. I love this!
I couldn’t agree more.
Always great to see a fellow modified Saleen. Just needs a little more motor and blower 😁. Gorgeous car! Any other modified fox Saleens out there?
🙋🏼♂️ I’m about to build one in the coming years.
Gorgeous Saleen! Those gold Sterns are the perfect choice for wheels!
Likely one of the the first sets of Sterns done in gold some 20 years ago. It sets the car apart.
thats a looker. nice ride for sure.
Pretty much what my 89-0402 was built like back in ‘99. Nice build.
The Maximum Motorsports suspension changes the driving experience so much on the Fox platform. I’ve owned a couple of cars I equipped with the same mods as this one. One of them was 93-57. It adds so much confidence in driving the car to the limit.
Hi that's awesome fox body stang 😊❤❤
Gorgeous car
That intro whistle! All stock😂😂😂
Even though most of my foxes are white, the gold on black is definitely an aesthetic beauty. Bunch of nice mods too, all reversible (even the MM SFC's if you're super hard core but what sane person would do that?)
You’ve got some choice cars Mr. Malone. 🙌
I'll be damned the wing profile does resemsemble the 993. I curate my brothers guards 993 turbo so I'm intimately familiar with its shape. I was a fox guy for a long time. a factory no badges 4 eye '86, black paxton blown '91 gt cobra conversion and my favorite Calypso notch '93 with an s-trim but this is my dream!! I'd have to put the 2.5 cowl hood on it nothing else its beyond perfect. I always hated cowl hoods til I bought the '91 which had one on it most of the time when I didn't forget the hood pins but they just looked so right but that's just what I'd do. obviously this owner needs no help in the "I'm going to build the baddest sleeper saleen around category" he's on top of that. what a super clean, WELL loved car. outstanding!! cheers
I’m a HUGE fan of the 993 twin turbo. The next level of that is a RUF. And unless I win the lottery I’ll always be a spectator in that sport. To me, those 911’s are go-carts on steroids. What a joy it must be to curate one. Best of all of it without the ownership pains and Porsche tax.
@PuristMotorsports I've been following Alois Ruf and his company since 1984 they are my all-time hands-down favorite performance car there's no better car the net what they were able to accomplish is just truly extraordinary and it was a Stars aligned type thing that will never happen again you obviously have impeccable taste. I'm trying to get my brother to either do a turbo or conversion or sell his 993 because it's too valuable to enjoy you buy a Porsche because you want to drive it it's tripled in price from what he paid for it so it's no longer a viable driver in his eyes but I told him if you wanted to keep it at least do something unique with it at least do the Turbo R bumpers and wheels is it because you can turn that back to stock pretty easily
@@gregoryfranks7347 same here. The Yellowbird set the world on fire for me. Easy to find the video now but back when you had to know someone with the VHS tape. What you are pushing your brother to do is exactly what I would do to a turbo. RUF is now making the 993 cladding and bumpers again along with OZ Racing making a version of the Speedline wheels used in the 90's. If I had a money tree I'd be buying a higher mile twin turbo and making it into the RUF styled Turbo. My IG and social media feeds are littered with Porsches along with the Saleen's. I do have plans to use an old school twin turbo kit for a fox and infuse some of the RUF and Singer details into it for a custom build. I've got a line on an abandoned Saleen fox project that will be the subject. Cheers man! You now have me digging through RUF videos online. LOL!
@PuristMotorsports oh I like you. I'm all about Porsche tuning. Back in 1991 a professional skater who now is a professional and a professional rally car driver and I were Associates and we had the first two custom Honda Civics in Baltimore Maryland. He just went on to a much better and nicer cars and now he drives for Subaru but I've been into tuning cars ever since then. I've got 5000 magazines I've been into mini trucks sport trucks off road sport compact JDM always loved Exotics and I've always loved prerunner trucks on Mustangs but Porsche has always been my number one favorite. Since 1985 I've got every Magazine with a article on Ruf that I could find. When Porsche gives you their best product and takes everything off and throws it in the garbage because they think you can do it better that says all I've ever needed to know about that company but just the fact that they've done so much I mean they had an electric Porsche before the Prius 10 years before the Prius they also own hydroelectric dams just a very humble friendly and absolute kind-hearted people that saved you into their family wants to buy one of their cars. I just can't understand how people buy those cars and have them specially built for them in their spec and then they sell them. I understand the one of 8 993 Turbo R tributes selling for 2 million but I don't know how you could have went through the process of expecting it going out to the factory meeting the family having the car and fitted to you and then selling it. Yes I'm I'm All About 80s tuning as well, gemballa DPmotorsport strokes premerger AMG. I'm a PCA member I'll give up my KISS Army before I give up my PCA membership LOL that was great to talk to you you just seemed like a true true fan of of the cars and I love your channel cuz I'm a Mustang fanatic too you have outstanding content you guys obviously work very very hard to produce it so outstanding job sir. Cheers
I want SO badly to turn my 92 Calypso lx 5.0 hatch into a Saleen clone with mods like this it hurts inside. Big wave from down here in Texas boys! Yall stay dry.
Man!! Go get that done! Would be an awesome looking and driving car.
I couldn’t help but notice the “s” on the driver side ground effect stripes is actually a “z”. I noticed that on one other black/gold stripe car in Charlotte back in 2014. My ‘89 black/gold stripe car has the “s”. Anyone know why the decals are “backwards” on some cars? (Unless this is the same car)
The replacement decals Saleen sold at one point several years ago had this issue. Many didn’t notice until after they were installed and didn’t bother to change them.
