    Excellent video! Thanks for sharing! I think "frequency words" and "psychological actions" can be summarized as "used to..."

    I liked this explanation. I have a suggestion though. As a foreigner, as much as I try, it is not easy for me to understand handwritten Chinese at this point. It would be very useful to have it written very clearly. But you are a very good teacher. Thank you!

    Languages must be regularly used otherwise there's a tendency to be less fluent. I am Chinese, schooled in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Unfortunately over the years, bcos of work, I speak more English than Mandarin. So I now hv to listen to proficient Mandarin speaking teachers to refresh my Mandarin proficiency.

    I dont understand the last sentence from the quiz. How do you put 了 in a sentence "Now I don't", when it's a psychological action?

    • @Ankun
      @Ankun 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because when you say it out loud in mandarin it literally translates as now I don’t like/love it. “Now I don’t” in English is short for “now I don’t like it” in this context since it’s casual speech. So it still holds the psychological aspect but it’s not shown in English because it’s casual speech.

    第12分59秒里面有一个错误,并不是因为决定而不能用了,而是因为当时,例如:我决定和你离婚了,如果你加了当时,了就不能存在。
    我也是一个对外汉语教师,很想知道是不是可以有这个机会跟你学习下。从你教学的方法里面,我学习到了很多。十分感谢

    • @jocyanjocyan6409

      而且,我觉得不是因为喜欢,所以不能用了,而是你前面的那个时间段,因为有“当我上高中的时候”

      问得好!我不是老师,但是我觉得 “...了...了” 的意思是这样:
      (动词) + 了 + (时间) + 了 = ... 直到现在. 比如:
      我在这家公司工作了三年了. (直到现在. 但是我继续在这里工作.)

    Dear Yinru. If we say 今年他十八岁了, does that mean - "He already turned 18 this year"? Meaning he already had the birthday at a certain point in the past, am I right? And one more, can i say this - 今天他十八岁, and what will that mean. Thank you:-)

    • @cannncannn
      @cannncannn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, this change of situation isn’t limited only to past actions. It can also be used for future events to indicate that an action will take a place in the future. In your example, the better translation will be: “He’s turning 18 this year.”

      I think that's the advantage of a white board lesson. It teaches us to read messy hand-written characters, vs. neat-and-tidy computer-generated characters.

      Translation using pingyi would have helped tremendously. Otherwise this teacher taught well. Articulated and slow. We understood, but could not catch the pronunciation of the words. They sounded the same to me. My fault. Not the good teacher's fault. Keep up the good teaching method. Excellent teacher. Thank you very much. From Malaysia. 11 June 2019.
