TIKHIR TRIBE THANKS NAGALAND GOVERNMENT FOR GRANTING RECOGNITION

The Tikhir council on Friday organised a thanksgiving programme in Kohima as a sign of gratitude to the government for officially recognising Tikhir as a tribe of Nagaland. During the programme, Topan K Tikhir, President of TTC mentioned the Tikhir tribe has been asking for recognition to the government since the year 1982 and that the Tikhir tribe has been in darkness for a very long period of time but God has finally answered their prayers. And during their quest for recognition a lot of rivalries and riots were seen between the two tribes
.
