DNUTN: A lot of things this masterpiece unfolded in front of us.... 1: They touched the topic of Human trafficking so sensibly that not a single dialogue or scene was un necessary , controversial or meant to sensationalize the original message......
2: The drama was not rebel... They actually showed how the woman can fight while living within their limits...
3: they didn't glorify the running away of NZ... They showed it is not the solution to your problems... It can create more problems for girls to leave the family....
4: Men and women both are compulsory for each other... There is no need to nullify the men while showing women powerful...

his walk, his mannerisms are so on point. that guy just nailed the portrayal of an introvert. i mean he should be given due credit. people should talk about it as its very rare nowadays to see an actor to get into a character like that. it takes real effort.

Seeing shaukay all guilt-ridden and ready to take responsibility made me an emotional wreck. It's the greyness of humans that makes life more acceptable and livable than the absolute Whites and blacks.
Parizaad was heart wrenching to say the least. When Naheed said, 'Mein aur aapka' and the way parizaad looked up made me cry. What a brilliant writing i must say Even though i hate Raqs e bismil and KAM 3. The parallels that were drawn between Majid and Shoki were truly splendid. Shoki whom people think to be an Awaara isn't a bad guy after all and The Namaazi Majid is just a selfish guy. I hated Majid and Naheed. I hope they never be happy after building their life on by insulting someone and bringing bad name to him. I truly felt for Parizaad and i totally felt the insult. It's a sad story and true reflection of our society. Burkhay aur Namaazon k peechy aapko jhoot aur khud garzi mily gi aur chai k khokhey par bethny waly larkay aapko awaara aur badmash lagen gy. Unki muhabbat b aapko begairti aur thark lgti ha....
PS: No Hassan they needed to show his black skin because the benchmark for beauty in our society is the colour of your skin. That's what the basic drive in this story. If you don't show his black skin then he is just a guy who happens to be a 'Seedha saadha' larka and then you won't feel that disgust which Naheed has. She can't even think about him on those lines because of the colour of his skin. It's the essential part of the story and it wouldn't have been much sense if they didn't present him as a black skin guy
Shehzad sheikh might have look better in parizad role according to skin colour and it's a shame that how we embarrass someone just on skin colour which is never someones fault

I know someone like shoki whom people call Awaara & badmaash but he is a good human being. On the other hand I also know someone who is Namaazi Parhezgaar in front of Duniya but his inner is full of filth & dirt. People aren't like we take their perception. I always say to others "Jinko zamana bura kehta ha hum unsy khud e mohtat rehty hein par jinko duniya achai ka title dey chuki hoti ha asal mohtaat unsy rehna chaiye".

Hassan and Amna I belong to an educational family and Allah blessed me with a daughter and people were like who came to meet said "shukar hy rang saaf hy , rang to gora hy , acha hy rang maa py gya hy " suffice to say despite all the education we still stuck in the same mentality that gora rang is appealing . even my brother has dark skin and he face the same criticism,it was my mother who supported him and gave him the confidence , jb wo paida huay thy my father was like " ye to kalla hy pta ni kis py gya hy " so all it make sense shown in drama

DNUTN: I had tears in my eyes during two instances. 1. Zulfi smiling when Naseem hugs her mother. 2. His smile again when Naseem’s dad hugs her. These officers are really hardworking and we need more representation of positive role models in society like Zulfi!!!

DNTUN: it was truly a master piece. I am sad that it is over. I am watching its starting episode nowadays. The way Naeem sherwaani was talking about naseem in front of her father, I have seen similar comments for Noor Muqaddam. This drama was closest to reality.

I disagree with you on parizaad. It is not about what should be but what actually is in the minds of people. I think they are showing how judgmental people are about dark skinned people, that is the main story, how else would they have shown people's bias towards dark skinned people, without making parizaad dark that wouldn't be possible.

I am not a proponent of casting an actor who is light skinned for a darker skinned character but I see the reason for him to be dark skinned. When the child was born, everyone mocked his mother’s choice of calling him “Parizaad”. No one can tell whether a baby will be cool, confident or attractive really...everyone can see that he will be dark or light skinned and mock that immediately.
Also i would like to add that constant exposure to demeaning remarks based on appearance like skin tone which is very common in sub continent especially in early childhood shatter the child personality with effects like low self confidence which physically manifests stutter etc im not watching parizad currently so i can't really say how it has affected him but him having darker skin tone makes sense especially since makes a commentary on how people with darker skin color are treated in our society

The demeanor of the character Parizad is not something that is just natural.. people who have been a victim of judgemental comments on their skin tone, weight, etc. start to lose confidence and develop such body language (kandhay jhuka k chalna and all) the point of showing this birth and making his phupo comment on his appearance back then indicates that since birth he has been facing such comments. That is what has made him the way he is now. There is no flaw in showing him as a dark skin toned guy, such issues do exist in our society.

Parizaad: I'm in love with parizaad(the drama and the character both). Ahmad Ali Akbar is truly the star of the show...he is phenomenal as parizaad. Parizaad is really interesting and engaging I'm really looking forward to the next episode.
I was actually skeptical about naheed going to the roof and studying at night😅 but that twist was really good.
Laapata had a good start but we cannot ignore how casually they slipped in the fact that ayeza threatens the poor shopkeeper who was asking the rightful money she owes him and then she threatens him that if he doesn't let go off the money she will falsely accuse him of harrassment..... SUPERRRR PROBLEMATIC AND I COULDN'T CONTINUE AFTER THAT!!
I felt the same way about this scene. Just because it was Ayeza the main lead and the background music was funny or sort of naughty, doesn’t make the whole scenario OK. Maybe it will make sense as the drama progresses because Ayeza’s character is shady, she has a mischievous and mean streak to her.

... The physical black description of Parizaad is written in novel.... This is what the writer has shown that People judges the other people on the basis of Dark/Skin color in our society.... Not on the basis of his innocent heart and good character.... Your logic with reference to Rab na Banadi Jodi does not makes sense... That's written on different theme and perspective.... Majority of audience has already read that novel they know very well that how beautiful this novel his ... 🙏😃
But this is shame that we doesn't have appropriate skin colour actor for this role so we made Ahmad black although he is fair skin shehzad sheikh might have been better choice as his skin colour might have been better and this drama shows how we decide someone is good or bad. Laapata: the scene where shams comes like a hero or gunda what ever was so unrealistic. How the hell he got to know that she is being harassed on the road and how the hell he gathered all the boys. SECONDLY ayeza's scene where she threatens shopkeeper was so problematic. NO ONE TALKED about that. i honestly loved sara and ali rehman THE CINEMATOGRAPHY WAS AMAZING but ayeza's character looked so cringy to me and all the other characters were also so plain. I didnt enjoyed them at all. Hope gohar's character is something which gives us entertain.
Parizad is amazing. And i think the reason parizaad didn't tell naheed's father that it was Shauki because he knew that shauki is going to spill the beans that naheed wasnt alone. That is the same reason majid and naheed kept quite about Shauki.

Ahmed Ali Akbar, Wahaj Ali, Yumna Zaidi, Umair Rana, Yasra Rizvi, Noor ul Hassan and Samiya Mumtaz are few actors whose acting pierces right through the heart and palpatates with it. It makes you feel the right emotion, placed at the right spot. Stellar performances masha Allah.

Laapata: I have seen a drama after ages in which Dewaraani Jithaani, Nand and Bhabhis are not against each other, not scheming against each other. Very lovely, peaceful family. And uff the opening seen.... it was soooo cute and funny. Ghusal Khany me jaa k naha ley.... hahahah. Another beautiful thing is ayeza khan saying "chote mamu" "bary mamu"'. And not taking their names (e.g. saleem mamu etc). It may be a small thing for others but for me it was special because I also call my youngest mamu chote mamu and all the other uncles aunties with different titles like mamu jan khala jaan etc.
Another interesting thing, there was no "Haw haye" and drama, when falak and the guy told their parents that they love each other and want to marry. Agr sab parents dramon me itny open minded hon to shaid adhy se ziada dramas to exist hi na kren.

Parizaad: honesty of the character has nothing to do with the color of the skin. Majid bhai is fair skinned but a hypocrite vis a vis Parizaad who is dark skinned but of a noble character! Maybe that is the crux of the drama

I loved parizaad, Ahmed Ali Akbar is doing a fantastic job. That really was a shocking turning point when Majid's true self was shown. I think after his sister gets married, parizaad would move to another city and one by one the other 4 girls would come into his life and everyone would manipulate him for their own gains taking him as a harmless person. Though yumna's character might be an exception, she could be the one to help him uplift his spirit and boost his confidence. I haven't read the novel but I like to speculate.
Parizaad is definitely worth watching- everyone in the cast is doing a great job. You cannot dismiss Laapata after 2 episodes- should wait and watch, appears quite realistic and the OST is exceptional as is the OST of Parizaad. I wish DNUTN was excellent I hope it inspires others to make meaningful dramas- kudos to the producers, director, writer and all actors.
Parizaad: The way AAA walks, his demeanor, the way he dealt with the character is so beautiful. How he would have looked repulsive without being dark, because otherwise he is so handsome, he wouldn't look bad. And he is a phenomenal actor, nobody else would fit this role.

AAA nailed the walk, the introvert stance, the bowed eyes, the inferiority complex, all came through without any dialogues. He is a brave young man to take on a look that is below ordinary ( as society judges) only in order to do justice to his character. Speaks volumes for his committment to his craft. I am impressed !!
so let's get this straight; being dark is what makes someone ugly? THIS is why we have a problem with the Parizaad & you all go "no AAA is a great actor, only he could play the role" ok fine. But was it so necessary to embed the fact that being dark is automatically ugly? Astaghfirullah. I hope one day our awaam is able to wake up and stop having a fairness complex. In the eyes of god everyone is equal.
@@fh1965 , being dark is certainly NOT equal to being ugly. In any case beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. At the end of the day, we all love Parizaads character and soul and therefore, soon, his looks cease to matter. THAT is the crux of the issue .
Could anyone else have played this character..?... Sure , any actor worth his salt should be able to. But that in no way detracts from the effort AAA has put in.
DNUTN: I like how the ending was open-ended...that’s realistic because, unfortunately, real life hardly ever has a happy ending. As Muslims, we believe in the Day of Judgment, where every wrong will be righted. Not everyone got what they deserved in this drama, and that mirrors real life as well.
Very true. It was so realistically wrapped nothing seemed like a typical Pakistani drama ending. Even the realisation of Qazi Sahab was done right because I wasn't convinced how his inner human can wake up after so many years only by listening to Zulfi and Jimmy but then I was relieved to see the scene that triggered his thoughts and how he reflected it all made sense.

Nothing was clarified about Aunty (zulfi's mom) who was raising the girls in the brothel. Was she undercover to try to save the girls?? and What about the girl that sumbul was trying to help escape? did she end up escaping or did Ikram kill her?

DNUTN was not just a drama. It was a journey where we learned so many lessons and reality of our society these days! Ending doesn't always need to be perfect.What matters is whether we learned something from it or not.

Zulfi turns out to be the hero of the drama of DNUTN 😍 . I felt so happy watching 3 men in such positive roles. One disappointment though, Sherwani should have been punished. The drama showed reality with hope, inspiration and positivity, our youth needs, not doom, self destruction, or aimlessness. No senseless, obsessive ishqs or inferiority complex due to looks, but personality development and achievements. Progressiveness, not regressive stuff.

DNUTN deserves a standing ovation for daring to address such important taboo topics present in each household! I still remember when my sis in law got married to my husband’s brother she had mentioned how she was super interested and good in Physics but her dad did not even send her to college. I felt terrible and it is So common in our families to just get the girl enough education and then get her married. Naseem’s story is present in every other home. Loved the twist at the end in Parizaad
Also with DNUTN, the ambiguity of Big Boss was deliberate, in my opinion, to illustrate that anyone can be Big Boss. We don’t know what his political affiliation or profession was; if that happened, then viewers would start attributing those aspects to human trafficking. This showed that big boss could literally be anyone, from any profession, political affiliation, or lifestyle.

It's surprising that you people didn't touch on that very problematic scene of Ayeza Khan where she is threatening the shopkeeper with false allegations. Very cleverly veiled as a fun, light-hearted scene but not enough for the sensible, aware people to not notice.

The second episode of parizad encouraged me to read the novel and I must say it's a MASTERPIECE ❤ it's so damn emotional yet so engaging, looking forward for the drama. Moreover, it is clearly discussed in the novel that it was necessary to darken the skin color of parizad, even in the novel he had scars also with dark skin color. So basically, the character is a dark skin person with scars and all. Moreover, the story would link in the future why it was important to show that skin color. It has a relevance with the storyline ❤ Ahmed Ali Akbar has proved himself and justified the role of parizad, this is going to be one of his major and phenomenal perfornance delivered in his career.
Yes in novel they properly explain his demeanor and looks and the main theme of novel is about a dark skin person with scars who consider himself ugly.. in novel the story was told from parizads perspective so we perfectly knew about his thought process but in drama they have made some changes let's see how they show his journey but it's still very engaging and Ahmed Ali Akbar is acting brilliantly
I was expecting that you guys would talk about how Ayeza Khan falsely accuses a shopkeeper in LAAPATA. That scene made me feel very uncomfortable. It was totally wrong and should not have been included.

What makes DNUTN special is that although the theme is dark and disturbing, the storytelling kept the human element consistent. E.G. in the midst of all that desperation and sorrow, there is also true friendship and love and compassion....
One word for "Lapaata" is weird. It felt like the scenes jumped from one and other. Also can our writers stop writing main characters as cousins and then either have them romantically involved or in rivalry. It's so weird to see two childhood cousins, growing in same house being in love as they grow older. It kind of disgusts me, I see all my cousins as my brothers and not as my future husbands. Probably cuz I recently saw Ayeza as Meenu in "Chupke Chupke", her character here as Geeti annoyed me and felt way to dramatic. I was hoping this to be a more mature drama yet it has a comedy genre which is lowkey misleading. Had high hopes but just another two cousins against each other for a man, kind of story.
It looks like Falak will leave though, not because of Geeti but because Shams is drifting somewhere she definitely won't approve of (gambling). So hopefully there won't be a lot of fighting over one guy.
Showing dark skin colour in Parizad was very important. This is our society where we live. We judge people on their appearances. I have 3 sons and my younger one is bit darker. Everyone treats him different. Tell me what's the definition of being beautiful in our society?? .. gora rang is always on the top.. people always take you for granted. I'm loving parizad. One of the best performance by Ahmed Ali.
DNUTN: this was a masterpiece! True reflection of ills of our society. Beside others, I loved zulfi’s part in the last episode and his line that Baitian state ki zimmy dari hein and that state will protect them. This is so relevant in current times. I wish states takes responsibility of the daughters of the nation just like zulfi did!!

Parizaad: This is the irony you critical duo! Parizaad is a beautiful, sensitive soul, the apple of his mother's eye, beloved to his sister, educated, poetic, modest, and revered by respectable members of the neighborhood. You don't feel pity for him, you feel sympathy. He doesn't clean gutters, he teaches students to ace their exams. It is his dark skin that makes him unappealing and undermines his efforts to add value. This is what causes him to be framed and rejected by fair dames and delivers regular blows to his self-esteem. It would be hard to buy that he is an outcast if he wasn't as dark as he is. The lyrics say, "Taareek jinn ke chehre hain, muqaddaron pe jaale hain." It will be an ongoing debate throughout the serial whether it is one's demeanor or one's appearance that makes them unattractive. In Pari's case, once he recovers from heartbreak, he can march forward with hope but he will face resistance again all because he is the smooth-skinned "ugly duckling".
I read the whole novel and tbh I found it is really exaggerated

@@theonewithbrains192 That's one exceptional colleague of yours. Majority of South Asians don't get called after an interview or hear from their suitors because of dark skin. If Hashim Nadeem has created a fellow from his imagination who has fire in his belly but loses opportunities where glamour sells, then he is going to be depressed.
One important reference that SH have missed in their review from the first episode is, Parizaad as an infant always ended up cooing in a pretty woman's lap. As a kid with a face only a mother can love, he is shown to be pulled towards beauty. All the literature he reads celebrates the same and where looks aren't as important, Pari accepts second place out of his conditioning.
Shauky character impressed me. He was HUMAN he has flaws but he was gulity too. He wanted to clear his name. He is loofer but he is not bad.
For sure, definitely better than the holier than thou Majid Bhai.
DNUTN will always be considered a classic at least in my books,because I did not find a single loophole in this story. Congrats to the whole TEAM. Nothing else in the whole week can hook me but parizaad

Parizaad: The fact that they have shown parizaad as a dark skinned person is because it's based on a novel that dates back to 7 to 8 years. It was the time where dark skin was an ultimate synonym of ugliness. Moreover, adding freckles or acne marks would have made more sense. As depicted in the novel, parizaad was someone you don't wanna look at the person twice.

I've left watching Pakistani dramas for the last 4 years because of extreme level of script and directional mistakes I've gone into depression while looking those toxic dramas but I must say when I saw both of you on reviewing dramas I've got my courage back to watch again Pakistani dramas. I feel you are my inner voice and those things which I can't say to actors and production houses on their mistakes.....you have become my voice. I think they did well by making him dark in Parizaad cause in our society dark skin faces alot of hate and racism. Agar dark skin na hota to his suffer wouldn't be realistic .
DNUTN: Yes definitely a huge round of applause and shoutout to the whole team! What an excellent drama, a league of its own. it was such a thought-provoking drama with so many lessons to be learnt. We wish to see more such dramas been made. I loved how there was a dose of mystery/suspense in each episode keeping us intrigued about what will happen. Will miss DNUTN!

Jimmy,Zulfi,TM,Kazi Sahab are the male characters we need in Pak dramas..and unfortunatly are very rarely seen in Pakistani dramas.......literally Zimmy,Zulfi, TM were my farishtas...their mentality is the mentality l would want the men in our society to have...

What an outstanding drama it was. The story was OUTSTANDING and much needed in today's time. The credit goes to the entire team of DNUTN. Everyone deserves to be appreciated... The writer Aamna mufti for writing such a strong script, the director Kashif nisar for executing it flawlessly and of course the ENTIRE CAST of the drama who acted exceptionally well. Yumna zaidi has become my favourite, wahaj ali was brilliant but In recent episodes Omair rana's performance stood out to me, zulfi was indeed the hero of the show, yasra rizvi was brilliant.
Loved the monologues of Naseem zahra and yumna at the end...especially the last scene where Rakhi and Jimmy were holding their hand it was beautiful😍
DNUTN is definitely the best drama I've watched in recent times and definitely one of the best dramas of all time.

I would you guys to do a Haute Bites on actors and their responsiblities . I was so offended by the false acussation scene in Laapata , and the most followed pakistani actresses was performing it was even more problematic . With great power comes great responsiblities . I have never seen Aiza Khan playing a strong examplary female protagonist . While its her responsiblity to promote these kinda characters more . Even Danish being immensely popular has almost always chosen objectionable scripts . P.s. never seen Ayeza speaking about any kind of social issues , being private is different , but being goody two shoes is different .

One thing I disagree In Parizaad review is that it was important to make him look black, because Ahmed ail Akbar in real life has a white skin tone. And in Parizaad they wanted to show him as an ugly person, so if they showed him white maybe he wouldn't look ugly. I am not saying that an black person is ugly, but in our society black people are treated as ugly. again I'm not saying that black people are ugly, they are more beautiful than white people.🙂there should be no judgment on skin color. And no one should be made fun because the color of there skin.

Every drama starts with a good note but when it comes on 15-16 episodes it becomes boring and dragged😔.Hope Parizaad and Lapata will not be dragged like fitoor,Raqs e bismil and KAM3
but Raqeeb se wasn't dragged, it was to the point and ended on only 23 episodes

That we were given such characters who made us invest in them, laugh and cry with them and made us look within ourselves- this is the power of great art which evokes strong feelings and speaks to our collective conscience. More power to Kashaf Foundation for inspiring such meaningful content that leaves a mark on society. Parizaad is the other show I look forward to. Ahmed Ali Akbar is so convincing in a role that redefines how we view & appreciate masculinity. From the usual fare of seeing the 'agressive, overly-confident, proudly callous tough-guy' mold to a sensitive, shy, quiet but in no way 'weak' type..truly refreshing. Fine work AAA as well as the entire cast have done!
Laapata is such an eye-soothing drama. Such a fresh concept and story. Loved the direction and cinematography, so brilliant. Sarah, ayeza and ali rehman all the actors did their best. Loved the strong female characters especially Sarah's character.

I saw your last video and with all due respect as an old subscriber i was extremely disappointed because the whole debate was about dressing of women. I know it was general but in noor's case you could have talked about what could his mental state could be that he was making stories about a robbery right after murdering her. You could have talked about how we have made money so important and zahir is a product of our society's wants. Good education good money good family equals to perfection and in the
end we forget that upbringing is such an important thing for both men and women.
Could have talked about emotional intelligence and the murderers plans that his friends knew.

Parizaad- oh hello .. it is about colour. When a kid is born with dark skin.. he is not aware of it n has no inferior complex due to it. But khaandaan n family wale continuously roz usei yahi point karte rahein then n only then the personality will become like that. Otherwise kya kami hai usme to feel inferior? He is made to feel inferior n that is the story.
In Pardes now affan and dur e fishan track will be opposite to the zubi and Ahsan’s track.
It will show how Aimen will tackle all the negative things in her sasural not like her mother.

My husband is as much passionate about cricket as for nothing but whenever I asked him what if your daughter would like to be a cricketer then he was use to say that no I would not allow her as it is not for girls but after watching DNUTN he is now convinced that whatever his child would like to do that is ethical, regardless of gender he would support them and that's the achievement of the series at domestic level ❤

Parizaad For Hassan :I think it was essentially important to show parizaad dark because Hassan you might be okay with with the fact that dark is not ugly but society is not they think dark means ugly and I feel this is the reason they have made a slight change in the storyline as to make parizaad dark rather than showing birth mark on his face which was the actual story.
In actual story he was dark skinned and has birthmarks as well.

While i agree that skincolor was not imperative to demean his looks...I guess it's reflective of what our society thinks is ugly..and if they had used an actor who is dark the storyline would have reemphasised the belief that dark is less appealing
For Parizad s complexion and unappealing demeanour, just wait and watch. It is deep rooted in him. If he wasn’t made dark skinned, he would still look handsome. And you can’t deny that dark skinned people are not considered handsome/beautiful in our society. You can’t change the social perspective. It will culminate further in the story. Do you remember Hunchback of the Notredam, Quasimodo was ugly but he also had a heart to love.
How can you take away the dark skin? In our culture fair skin = beautiful, dark skin = ugly, the reason Parizaad has slouched shoulders and low key because he is looked down upon because of his dark skin and his low self esteem and self effacing demeanor is a result of this. This is a big issue in our society- it is thus important to show the sterling worth and resilience of this character despite society judging him on such superficial and shallow criteria.
I would respectfully disagree with the review on dark skin in Parizaad. It was needed to do the justice to the drama. Social bias for the dark skin is the ugly reality of our society and it is deeply rooted. Also if casted someone else with naturally dark skin would unfortunately not do the justice to the role as Ahmed Ali Akbar did. Opinions may differ here ✌🏻
Totally agree. If he was light skinned then he would be massively appealing and girls would like him, people wouldn’t insult him.
I agree that there is a ridiculous bias against dark skin but why would casting someone with naturally dark skin not have the same impact?
I feel that Ahmed Ali Akbar is an exceptionally talented actor and no other person aa I said could have done the role better than him.
@@ixa.m9915 of course you are right but they have shown the reality of our society. He comes from a poor background already. But his dark skin makes him a target for mockery which in areas that they have shown is a big deal.
In term of dark skin I mean it would have been better to choose A darker actor but who I n our industry is as dark as they have shown AAA. That in itself shows the bias towards dark skin.
I mean mohaib Mirza is one name I think of but even he is slightly darker than our white washed heroes. In no way is he considered abnormally dark!

The theme of parizad is to show how society deals with you if you are dark skinned and not pretty. Its not about demeanor because it can be changed. It was necessary to show him as dark skinned because we are like this.

Loved the outlook that Hassan gave for DNUTN. The serial's intention wasn't to put everything in order and to put all fhe bad guys behind bars. And also why they didn't show the bad guy's face. Good one Hassan.
In Parizaad, if they had taken a dark skinned person then as u said for DNUTN, people would not have separated the character from the actor. He would have faced the situation in real life too, that's why taking a fair skinned person and giving him a darker complexion makes sense.
In Dour, there is more misery ahead for Asma as seen in the teasers. She does seem to be a strong character at some places. But manipulation will happen at the hands of Mrs Ihtesham and Abaan which unfortunately Romaan will not be able to see. So kind of depressing.
In Lapataa, I agree with Amna about Gaiti..Ayeza Khan's character is too loud to absorb at all times. The scene at the shop should be called out too. Not good at all.
