Damn Dave it's 1:30 am and you just made me so hungry for some pulled pork !!! I knew I should have saved this video to watch it tomorrow afternoon, when I could have found someplace around here to grab a pulled pork sandwich. 😀 Now I'm going to have to raid my kitchen for something good to eat... Thanks for posting. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 Dan
In the bake oven I use kindling size wood so it burns fast and hot. I equates to about 3 or 4 pieces of split wood that I resize. In the bottom firebox a full load last 3-4 hours. You don’t need it to last longer or you will be wasting energy, soapstone can only hold so much heat.
There are a few reasons. First I treat it like any oven, don’t trust your kitchen oven just because it says it’s a certain temperature. I always have a separate thermometer in the oven to verify. Second the gauge you reference is almost always 25-50 degrees different than the actual oven temperature. When maintaining the low temperature it’s important to know before it gets too low.

did you make this yourself or buy it?
We bought it through a Tulikivi dealer and they installed it.
You don’t seem to rely on the embedded thermometer on the upper right of the bake oven. Why is that?

@@MtTopLiving You seem to use some kind of a digital thermometer which allows to read from outside. Could you provide details?
@@garyhoward4064 I set a temperature I don’t want to go over with the internal temperature of the meat.
I have a tulikivi with a bake oven. How many hours was it in?
This size was right around 12 hours.
