Absolutely fantastic performance! Dazzling technique in every section! No band in the world, high school, college, or professional, could play this piece better than Seika.
I was trumpet soloist and principal cornet wit The USAF Band in Washington DC under Col. Gabriel and I have to agree with Mr Martin. I doubt that anyone could play this piece any better, and few could play it as well!! Incredible virtuosity from every section.
This is astonishing !! HS band???? from one school?? It's as if C.Smith wrote this piece for this band...only!!! No band in USA can match it -section to section purity of sound and technique!. Oh and by the way they can also MARCH!!! (many Gold medals in All Japan contests)
This piece is in fact breathtaking....and as others commented before, the Japanese wind bands play this in a style that is almost unmatched. Resulting as well from their strongly enforced rehearsal and practice discipline. Because this piece takes a serious amount of that to perform it at this level :) We can enjoy the beautiful result.
