    Got to give it to him. He’s done his research and devoted time to get a set up right for him at this moment in time. Become a lover of music in all formats, just beware, try not to fall into the AUDIOPHILE CATEGORY. Pick up hi-fi items as you go through life. Enjoy what the Metal, Punk, Rock bands have on offer and if time let’s you, go to see the bands LIVE. Me, I’ve still got my dads old Panasonic turntable and played it for years till full time employment gave me the chance to buy 1210’s and B&W tall boys.Technics, Roland, Nacamichi, Linn, Arcam, Nad, Wharfedale ,Numark are in my current set ups and I love it. My kids think I’m crazy, listening to music that loud but I’m ok with it. Well I am 57 years old. HAHA. Now where’s that To Mega Therion record?

      Big mistake that a lot of people fall into is that vinyl is the only true format or CD is the only true format. Each one has their benefits, ups, downs, terrible pressings, and gold sounds. But yes, building a good system and collection takes time

    Technically belt driven turntables are more quiet than direct driven ones, however direct driven turntables have more accurate speed consistency than belt driven turntables. It's just all about where your priorities lie when it comes to how you listen to your vynl. I currently have an Audio Technica LP60 atm and it sounds great, however, I am looking to get me a Fluance RT 81 one day.

    • @FadirDungeon
      @FadirDungeon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have only had belt driven turntables and they have never had any problems with keeping the right speed. I really don't think people should be worried about that unless they buy some cheap crap for under like 250 dollars.

      I purchased my Fluance RT-81 about a year ago now. My very first player and it has worked fantastically so far. Just thought you might want a little insiders comment on the flawless belt-drive turntable. I would highly recommend!

    • @Skaldic_Works
      @Skaldic_Works 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StaTBMK I already knew this, however, I love the sound of the stock cartridge. I got this model because my budget didn't allow for the ATLP120 or the Fluance RT81. Also I got it for a steal at $25 brand new due to a fluke in my local FYE's inventory log when I asked for a quote on their price for the turntable. I had to jump on that chance because they had to honor it, which they did. So far it does what I need it to for now.

    Nice stuff. However I noticed a few thing that I would like to warn you about. Placing the speakers on the same shelf as the record player may cause vibrations that travel into the stylus and causes rumble (just a fancy term for bad sound really.) Another thing is that not every stylus is made to be played backwards. So be careful not to ruin your stylus! And the third thing is also about the stylus, every stylus has a recommended tracking force (for example my Elys 2 has 1.5 - 1.75 grams) be careful not to track your stylus to heavy or it might get damaged! Otherwise, keep on rocking.

    My only criticism is that your turntable and speakers are on the same shelf. Turntables are extremely susceptible to vibration, and this can easily be exasperated by the vibration emitted from your speakers. One thing you can do to isolate your turntable is to go to your local custom countertop shop. The have remnant pieces of 1 1/4” granite that you can pick up for cheap to put under your turntable. They’ll even cut them to size for cheap!

    I have vinyl set up too with two giant woofers that it can be heard around the town just like the concert amps. You can also insert tapes too. But unfortunately I don't have metal vinyls only pop ones because it was my uncle's pickup. I took it from his room since he passed away by work accident. Honestly I'll take CD over vinyl any day of the week. The audio quality is much better and you don't have to flip the record over to hear the 2nd half of the album. Also you don't have to worry about your album being scratched because some douchebag comes stomping by your stereo making it vibrate. The only reason I would even think about buying a record is if it's rare or it was never released on CD.

      Depends on the person. Of course there are albums that sound their best on vinyl (old Pink Floyd, AC/DC, etc) but it is costly. Just like CDs the format can have downfalls, like if it was pressed wrong or missing tracks. And in a case of bands who take forever to end their albums, you wont want to listen to a Type O Negative album sitting still for 75 minutes

      Try the Victrola Pro USB Record Player with 2-Speed Turntable and Dust Cover, Black, it’s what I bought and is the cheapest turntable you can buy without sacrificing the sound quality. The black version is about 88$USD before tax and shipping on amazon and the silver is just under $100USD. This turntable has two speeds, 45rpm and 33 1/3 rpm, when you play records on this though, leave the dust cover up because the tone arm doesn’t have enough space to move back to its original spot and with scratch the dust cover. It has a auto stop and return feature that works great, it doesn’t stop the record too early as the crosley cruiser style turntables do. Good luck on your vinyl journey

      No worries man, just don't forget that thing that I mentioned about the dust cover, it will 100% scratch it, always make sure it's up when playing

      No money for vinyl is a bad excuse. I've bin collecting records since I was 12 or 13 yo (I'm 20 now). I went to a lot of fleamarkets and most of tje time you can get some decent stuf for right prizes. And every record store has SOMETHING for yor budget! Only for the last few years I expandes my collection with rare albums or special stuff and such. Don't let Discogs prizes scare you away ☺

    Do not put your speakers next to your table. Too much vibrations that will be picked up by your table.

    So much wrong information given in this video, if your belt broke it's because you had a VERY cheap turntable. All of the high-end turntables built are belt driven because they have BETTER sound quality for true audiophiles. Turntables with direct drive are only used for DJs, so they can scratch and slow down records and they instantly go right back to playing speed. And the speed dials serve absolutely NO purpose at all unless you are a DJ. It is only for playing multiple records together at the same time and getting the tempos of all the different songs together and at the same speed. And in order to do that you need multiple turntables. If you want a good turntable check out the Fluance RT85. It's the best made for under $1,000

    So much wrong with this video. 99% of top notch turntables are belt drive. There is a reason for that. Never have your speakers next to the turntable. If you want to keep your records in good shape always have a balanced tonearm and NEVER add a shitload of weight to it and then play the album backwards. This will destroy the grooves. This video shows the way NOT to set up a proper system. Have a good day

      J. Resihead You are correct. Stylus will be destroyed in no time with those speakers on the same surface. However, to each their own. Not even close to a “Hi-Fi” setup, but if this works for him, more power.

    LMFAO!!! You're destroying every record you play, too much weight on the tone arm...FOOL!!! And, speaker "A- B" isn't for checking "left .... right" balance.
