To all who are listening to this audiobook in full there is an apparent section missing between this channels parts 4 and 5. To clarify, you will find that the video this channel labels as "part 4", concludes at the end of the actual books' section, 'The Eternal Symbols', which is the first section in the Part 2 portion, "Ancient Myths And Modern Man" written by Joseph L. Henderson. This video, labeled Part 5 by this channel, actually skips the next 11 pages (the chapter 'Heroes and Hero Makers') and commences mid section/chapter for some reason. I refrain from exact page numbers and reference sections in case different editions are being read from. I think this discrepancy is mentioned above once but its odd that no one else mentions it. I will not jump to conclusions....

I'm 22 and have always been more mature than my age. In his book Jung says that the transition period is around 35 in todays society (referring to 1964). To me it feels like that transition period is increasing. (in 2023) Most people are so deep into their character and so distant from the spiritual plane that it seems so obvious we are heading for a collapse. You don't have to be psychologist to see this. My first introduction was at the age of 14, when I listened to Alan Watts, who I found out later was quite inspired by Jung's work. At that time I was dealing with existentialism and Alan Watts was someone who helped me find peace. Maybe I wasn't quite consciously aware of it, but sub-consciously my mind was filled with wisdom. Only recently at the age of 22, I finally understood it, with the catalyst being a talk with a friend who was already open minded. I read Jung's book "Alchemy and Psychology" and it all made sense. It was so obvious that it just made me laugh. I was IT, the whole time, I just didn't see it. What's the real me? Am I the 22 years of EGO or am I billion years of nature? Haha. If you got this far, thank you for your time. God loves you!

in getting this far into this audiobook, I can honestly say that I have learned way more about carl jung's psychology than the field of psychology itself. it is quite humorous really...but only slightly insightful.
it's not supposed to be very useful for amateurs, but if you already put few hundred/tousands of hours in psychology, then things like this audiobook are what you need to look for.
I don't think it even takes that much for this to be illuminating, Kirin Kappa. A basic understanding of the unconcious, archetypes and the collective unconcious
You never know... *maybe Freud was just posturing to compensate for the fact that Jung no longer "looked up to" him, and had clearly surpassed him.* Ever since their fall out, *they only saw each other on "special occasions" like that hunting scene, giving Freud ample time to overcompensate. After all, Jung never felt the need to prove himself, while Freud nearly always did.*
For a period of time, Jung and Freud were good friends and Jung considered him a strong influence, until Freud would just keep honking on "it is all about the sexuality, and so forth". Jung just couldn't hang, and thus, stepped out of the the relationship. More or less.

Holy shit, the dominance Freud is exerting in the picture (deriving that from their pose)

Why a picture of Freud??
