What’s becoming so obvious to people now is that colonialism has never ended just rebranded with different terms. From Natives indigenous people being called “savages” in the old days to now being called “terrorist” by neocolonialists who are neoliberals, neoconservatives, and zionist.
    1) Savages is now “terrorist”
    2) Civilizing them is now “bringing them democracy”
We can all see Israel is a colonial project being supported by former and current colonials such as U.S, UK, and others who also control territories of indigenous natives in Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Hawaii, and many more.
The liberation of Palestine will definitely give RISE to many indigenous natives around the world to free themselves from western domination. This is the underline ripple effect that the U.S government and its puppet allies don’t want to happen.

I heartily agree. Americans will eventually have to confront our colonial past and present. I think the reparations movement was meant to permanently provide cover for the original crimes against the indigenous people. While both demographics have suffered and both continue to feel the repercussions of policy, it's wrong to ignore the original crimes. Immigrants are now the new "scary" people. Anything to divide us and keep the heat off the.01%.

In August 2002 former Israeli Minister of Education Shulamit Aloni was interviewed on the radio and television program Democracy Now.
During the interview, she was asked:
Question: Often when there is dissent expressed in the United States against policies of the Israeli government, people here are called anti-Semitic. What is your response to that as an Israeli Jew?
    Shulamit Aloni replied:
“Well, it’s a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticizing Israel, then we bring up the Holocaust. When in this country people are criticizing Israel, then they are anti-Semitic.”

One day, an IDF officer approached one of his soldiers and offered him a pack of cigs to stop wasting munitions on livestock so that there would be enough for women and children. The soldier refused the cigarettes, but said he would do it if he could make a phone call to his mother instead. “Alright, you’ve got ten minutes” the officer told him. The soldier went onto the roof of the building where his platoon was stationed to make the call. While on the phone with his mother, he was spotted by a resistance sniper and picked off. The story moved the public, and a news crew was sent to interview the woman. “How did this happen?” the reporters asked her. “What a cruel twist of fate,” the soldier’s mother lamented:
“My son doesn’t even like cigarettes and, as a result, he got smoked.”

I read through most of the new Human Rights Watch report, though I eventually started skimming through the detailed recounting of the happenings at each kibbutz. I understand the disappointment, but I think it is an important summarization of what a 3rd party could find at least some evidence for, and it was fairly clinical in analysis of where it found information and what they could find corroboration for and what they couldn't. They were also very clear about what definitions they were using and what specific video or oral evidence matched up with specific allegations of crimes. They also specifically emphasized that no war crimes committed by Palestinians could ever justify the disproportionate response (including grossly disproportionate war crimes) by Israel. It also specifically pointed out that simply being a fighter in the operation was *not* criminal behavior; it treats armed resistance itself as completely legitimate.
The bulk of the case they make comes down to the fact that the HRW interpretation of international law views all kibbutzim as civilian targets and their internal rapid response teams as civilian self-defense. Given these interpretations, any taking of captives from the kibbutzim amounts to hostage taking, which is illegal, and I'm not sure anyone disputes that happening. Given their description of the video evidence (from various videos sourced from both Israelis and Palestinian fighters via Telegram channels of various resistance groups) it seems clear to me that whether or not Hamas instructed their fighters to not intentionally harm civilians, there was definitely some level of intentional harm caused by multiple individuals, whether that was due to orders, breakdown of discipline, or simply a matter of fighters not having any experience with an offensive strike in enemy territory. And given the sheer number of kibbutzim that were attacked, it seems highly unlikely that the kibbutzim were not intended targets.
I was a little confused about the accounts of events at Be'eri, though. You highlighted the section where they admitted the 12 hostages killed by tank shelling, even if it was weasel-worded, but a previous detailed account of events seemed to suggest that there had been some denial that the tank shelling had actually killed any Israelis. Maybe there was some inconsistency in preparation by different authors at different times?
Anyway, despite the ways in which it is good, I think it will probably be mostly used to cast the resistance fighters in a negative light and to justify Israel's response to those who won't read it, even if the text itself does not support such a justification, so I too feel largely disappointed about its release. You can count on a liberal organization like HRW to be meticulous about the rules, even if the outcome is unjust.

🎯 Key points for quick navigation:
00:08 🎤 News Roundup: Israeli War Crimes in Gaza
The episode opens with a summary of Israeli war crimes in Gaza, including multiple massacres over the past week.
The Israeli military targeted the al-Masai area, a so-called safe zone, as well as Nuseirat refugee camp, and bombed emergency shelters at UN schools.
Israel dropped five 2,000lb bombs in al-Masai, killing at least 90 Palestinians and wounding 300.
04:53 🏥 Crisis in Gaza: Aftermath of Massacres and Human Rights Violations
This segment delves into the aftermath of the massacres in Gaza, outlining the devastating impact on civilians and the dire humanitarian crisis.
This includes information on the use of banned weapons, the lack of access to clean water, and the skyrocketing rates of miscarriages due to the war.
The segment underscores the trauma, displacement, and lack of basic necessities faced by Gazans amidst the ongoing war.
16:39 ⚽ Respite Amidst the Brutality: Gaza’s Resilience in the Face of War
Shifting from the bleak realities of the war, this section highlights the resilience and determination of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
It sheds light on the American Friends Service Committee's efforts to organize events for children in Gaza, including a gathering for young football fans eagerly awaiting the Euro final.
This section demonstrates a glimmer of hope amidst the suffering, highlighting the spirit of community and unity amongst Gazans.
17:16 🏛 Criticism of the Palestinian Authority: Blaming Hamas for Israeli Genocide
The podcast discusses the Palestinian Authority's (PA) statement blaming Hamas for Israel's massacres in Gaza.
The PA's statement is met with rage and ridicule by many Palestinians.
This section highlights the internal conflict within Palestinian society, with the PA echoing Israeli psychological warfare tactics at the expense of national unity.
20:36 ⚔ Resistance in the West Bank: The Fight for Land and Survival
This segment focuses on the situation in the occupied West Bank, where the Israeli military continues its campaign of land theft, home destruction, and mass arrests.
Although the West Bank's resistance, utilizing tactics like improvised explosive devices, has been overshadowed by the unfolding genocide in Gaza, its struggle for survival remains a critical component of the larger Palestinian struggle.
It underscores the need to understand the complexities of the resistance movement in the West Bank and the challenges faced by Palestinians living under ongoing Israeli occupation.
27:03 ⚔ The West Bank's Resistant North and the Role of the PA
The West Bank's resistance is mainly concentrated in the north, particularly in areas like Jenin, Nablus, and the Jordan Valley.
Armed groups are engaged in active resistance activities, including IED construction and refining tactics.
The PA's ideological hegemony is not as powerful in these areas, contributing to their becoming hotspots for resistance.
29:05 🛡 The Silence of the West Bank: A Crackdown on Resistance
The Palestinian Authority (PA) has been a key factor in containing resistance in the West Bank, preventing a third front in the current conflict.
The PA has cracked down on any attempts to organize protests or resistance efforts, while Israel has resorted to mass confinement.
The PA has not joined the conflict, citing the need to avoid a third front, despite pressure from Gaza to participate.
35:28 🪖 Israel's Land Grab in the West Bank: Expansion and Exploitation
Israel continues to expand illegal settlements in the West Bank, accelerating land theft and encroaching on Palestinian territories.
Smotrich, the Israeli Finance Minister, plays a key role in facilitating this expansion, using his position to allocate finances and resources to settlements.
Israel's expansion aims to control more of the West Bank, leading to ethnic cleansing and the creation of conditions for a potential transfer of the Palestinian population.
41:11 🌐 The PA: An Ally or Obstacle? Dividing Israeli Perspectives
While Israeli security forces view the PA as a valuable ally in maintaining order and managing the Palestinian population, the settler movement sees it as an obstacle to their goal of Annexation.
This contrasting view fuels internal conflict within Israel, with the settlers pushing for a complete takeover of the West Bank, challenging the PA's control and authority.
The PA's continued collaboration with Israel has fueled criticism from some Palestinians, who see it as complicit in the occupation and detrimental to their own people.
47:37 📈 Defending Against Escalating Violence: Resistance's Next Chapter
The West Bank is facing a new wave of violence and land grabs, requiring a strong and organized response.
The increasing armed resistance in the north, especially in Jenin and Nablus, demonstrates the potential for sustained resistance against the occupation.
Palestinian society needs to mobilize against the PA's control and embrace a broader resistance movement to counteract the encroaching threat.
51:56 🛡 The Palestinian resistance and the role of Hamas in Western solidarity
The discussion delves into the complexities of the Palestinian resistance, highlighting the role of Hamas as a key force and the need for solidarity with Palestine to acknowledge this reality.
Emphasizes that the dividing line in Palestinian politics isn't between secularism and Islamism, but between defiance and resistance versus collaboration and accommodation with Israel.
Argues that the West's tendency to dismiss or exclude Hamas from solidarity efforts is a form of paternalism and overlooks the progressiveness inherent in resistance itself.
59:53 🧲 The hypocrisy of Western powers regarding Islamist movements
The conversation highlights the hypocrisy of Western powers in selectively demonizing Islamist movements while supporting and fostering them in the past when it served their geopolitical interests.
Examples are given of US support for Islamist movements in the 1950s and 1980s and their backing of extreme groups in Syria.
It argues that Palestinians should be allowed to define their own resistance without outside interference, emphasizing the need for solidarity with Palestinian efforts to challenge Israeli occupation and impunity.

What seems to be systematically missing from the analyses of the people from the West Bank and those abroad like A. Omar is the idea of class collaboration that is instilled into the West Bank. Same class collaboration that allows the working class of the imperial states to benefit at least partially from imperialism just enough to counter-balance part of the pressure of exploitation. That is why his and others' analyses are often too convoluted (I call mental masturbation) as they try to find more complex explanations for a phenomenon that has been explained >100 years ago by the likes of Lenin and other revolutionaries.

53:25 no I started following the Palestinian issue back when I turned 20 years old. And of course I didn’t know shit about shit lol and I started following the Oslo accords. You know this was a time after 911 where the American political class was just feeding us nothing but terrorist narratives for years at this point, so yes, at first I was totally that leftist that would say I stand in solidarity with the Palestinians, but regard the resistance as just some terrorist group. But I feel that if you honestly follow this history from the beginning and see and read all of the injustice, there’s just no way you can do all that work and look at Hamas as just some terrorist group. I 100% did an about face on that way of thinking. I know who the real terrorists are now and it’s definitely not the ones fighting for their lives in Gaza.
