    For us that survived Pol pot regime and lived through Refugee camps and came to the 3rd Country were blessed for us and We never take Life for granted. Unfortunately , people didn't go through like us are Clueless and unappreciated life. Even our own kids that is the Sad part. Now, in our Cambodia some people are poor and some are so damn rich. Life is Not fair, but trying to Enjoy while we still can because it is NOT last forever.... I always missed my best friends in Kaoi Dang....✌️🙏💑👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

    How could an evil and mean person thumbs down this video? Whoever did thumbs down should lived as a refugee to see how it feels like. I hope your country (ies) going through what Cambodia going through one day.

    • @simontan5295
      @simontan5295 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a shit mentality you want a whole country to suffer because a person didn't like the video? Maybe they thumbs down cause of song quality audio or something else. For you to want war for other countries is despicable and give a bad image for Khmer peoples, you use the Angkor and flag to represent yourself and say uneducated dumb shit. You call people mean but then go even lower, you should practice what you teach cause your eye for an eye is like communist thinking. Educate yourself and your enemies, only that way people can live in peace and harmony.

    1971 establishment[edit]
    The Groupe d'Intervention Médicale et Chirurgicale en Urgence ("Emergency Medical and Surgical Intervention Group") was formed in 1971 by French doctors who had worked in Biafra, to provide aid and to emphasize the importance of victims' rights over neutrality. At the same time, Raymond Borel, the editor of the French medical journal TONUS, had started a group called Secours Médical Français ("French Medical Relief") in response to the 1970 Bhola cyclone, which killed at least 625,000 in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). Borel had intended to recruit doctors to provide aid to victims of natural disasters. On 22 December 1971, the two groups of colleagues merged to form Médecins Sans Frontières.[8]
    MSF’s first mission was to the Nicaraguan capital, Managua, where a 1972 earthquake had destroyed most of the city and killed between 10,000 and 30,000 people.[9] The organization, today known for its quick response in an emergency, arrived three days after the Red Cross had set up a relief mission. On 18 and 19 September 1974, Hurricane Fifi caused major flooding in Honduras and killed thousands of people (estimates vary), and MSF set up its first long-term medical relief mission.[10]
    Between 1975 and 1979, after South Vietnam had fallen to North Vietnam, millions of Cambodians emigrated to Thailand to avoid the Khmer Rouge. In response MSF set up its first refugee camp missions in Thailand.[8] When Vietnam withdrew from Cambodia in 1989, MSF started long-term relief missions to help survivors of the mass killings and reconstruct the country’s health care system.[11] Although its missions to Thailand to help victims of war in Southeast Asia could arguably be seen as its first war-time mission, MSF saw its first mission to a true war zone, including exposure to hostile fire, in 1976. MSF spent nine years (1976-1984) assisting surgeries in the hospitals of various cities in Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War, and established a reputation for its neutrality and willingness to work under fire. Throughout the war, MSF helped both Christian and Muslim soldiers alike, helping whichever group required the most medical aid at the time. In 1984, as the situation in Lebanon deteriorated further and security for aid groups was minimised, MSF withdrew its volunteers. Wikipedia.

      Wow! You lived there for a very long time. Fortunately, I only lived there for about a year. I was perhaps 10 years old when I left Kao I Dang. I still have some memories left from the short time I was there. It has been 40 years since I left there and the hardship I (and most of us) went through have made us stronger. It is the hardship that we endured have molded us into who we are today. It was a bitter-sweet memory. We had sponsorship from my cousin in France who escaped the Khmer Rouge regime. While we were stationed in the Philippines, we received another sponsorship from America. My mom decided to change the course of destination to come to America because we were expecting to meet my father who came to the US to further his education prior to the fall of srok Khmer. My father was in the army and upon his completion of his education, he would be presented a one-star general. Unfortunately, he went back to srok Khmer to look for us and he was captured by Pol Pot, tortured and executed. This information was furnished to us by his older brother. Talking about the irony!!!
