Great video and advice. The one thing I think y'all missed was every piece of luggage, be it carry-on or checked, needs trackers of some kind so you know what airport they sent your gear to other than your actual destination, or in case someone in the baggage crew decided they needed a new axe or pedals.

Agreed, the Apple Airtags are available for $99 for a set of 4.

@@robertarcher4308 There are some "Buy once, cry once" stuff that you just have to have, and there's no excuse not to.
It never ceases to amaze me that the same band people, who will drop thousands on a single piece of gear (a good deal of which is unnoticed and unneeded outside a studio), get stingy or ignore things like trackers, insurance, cloud backup of software and settings, checking the air pressure and oil on the van, etc.

Hopefully there's less of that today with all of the things available to protect your investment in equipment. I throw an AirTag in my Gator case for the reasons Pete describes in this discussion, and I throw one in the case for my pedals, which is small enough to carry on. Gretchen is correct the airlines don't care and they aren't going to place any care into your gear. Maybe the most frustrating thing about my Gator case is it is always mistaken as a gun case so I end up explaining that it's not a gun, it's a guitar. @@TribalGuitars

@@robertarcher4308 I think Rhett Shull and/or Fluff made a video about the airline sending all their gear to the other side of the US and them to another continent. When the airline didn't know where it was they whipped out their tracker app and showed them.

Agreed the AirTags work great. There may be a bit of a delay before they update location info, but you can tell when your guitar or whatever is on the plane or being loaded into baggage claim. All you need is a little patience while the tags update their locations.@@TribalGuitars

Took my Strandberg and JAL said it wouldn’t fit 😑 Told them it will and they wanted it checked. I went ahead anyway and there was plenty of space in the overheads.

Pre 911, we would pack a 22 pistol in the guitar case. The case would get tagged, tracked and hand carried.

You guys do big talks and present yourself to a very customer friendly brand. I was also impressed and enquired But your sale engg does not even answer a query about an order of $ 2800. Several mail asking for help, no answer and you guys are doing big talk , care about your customer.
