hi guys, i thought you should see some of the early stuff - this is single number 3 in 1981. they were djifferent to many british bands in the 80's as they had real drive. the 4 year plan was to get a record deal by 1981, play london 1982, wembly stadium by 1983, and finally madison square garden by 1984. and they nailed it. becoming one of the most successful british bands in the usa (alongside the beatles). they had real drive, and you can tell in this early video clip which is clever. no bands were doing any of this back in 81, and these guys saw the medium and grabbed it. mtv made the band massive and helped break the usa for them. cheres,

This is the tame version too! The original version was very R-rated (for nudity) and was meant to be for clubs. Mtv banned it at first, so they had to edit it down!

Something Matt forgot to tell you guys, but the uncut version of this song was actually their first release and they made it NC17 rated so it would grab people's attention at bars around England (and the PlayBoy club in the USA), It can be a little hard to find but the extended version of the song is killer. Girls on Film and Le Chaffeur (another R rated video and the onlly video that the band does not appear in) could not be played on the newly formed MTV so the band had to put together a G rated video for Girls On Film which is why it's often, mistakenly, touted as the 3rd single. The two videos were released on an early Best Of music video VHS collection. (Goes w/out saying that 13 year old me snapped that thing up

So Godley told a story about how pretty much everyone wanted to ask the Brunette out because she was insanely hot but everyone was intimidated by her accept some young grip who ended up leaving with her at the end of the day. The harder cut of this shows why she was so popular because she is basically naked in a lot of that cut.
