Yo I remember pony down one of my boys I grew up with was affiliated with pony down and his older brother . Some of his people's stayed off Freeland and 7mile , he would always come back to our block from visiting over there talking about " pony down! Pony down! We would be like what the hell is talking about cause We were lil fellas like 10 , 11 years old and he was 3 or 4 years older than us but wow this piece brings back some memories

I finally made it to the two cities that I always wanted to visit last April, and that was Chicago and Detroit. I liked both cities, and would love to visit them again. But I noticed that the area by Motown or "Hittsville" is going through gentrification just like Harlem. And I was surprised at how nice and clean and spotless downtown Chicago was, and you can do some good clothes shopping in downtown Chicago. I never seen a four floor Nike store. I don't even know if there is one in NYC??? I finally had an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, and I just have to tell my people in New York that NY has nothing to worry about when it comes to whose pizza is the best!!! I was still impressed with Chi-town and the "D". The soul food restaurant we went to in Detroit was the f-ing bomb!!! I wasn't throwing nothing out not a crumb or a chicken bone, what I didn't finish there was brought home for later consumption, word up.

People always comparing the two (chi/nyc) that’s like comparing apples and horses. Deep dish, Chi is king, thin/regular crust is NYC all day baby. I grew up during that time & my dad bought me a Max Julian coat & my mother found out that kids were getting killed over those coats & she wouldn't let me wear it with the fur hood. The cost wasn't Shit without the fur hood. I also remember Y.B.I. wearing nothing but patent leather Top Tens & if u were caught wearing them & you wasn't Y.B.I. that was yo Azz ! ! ! My older cousin was a teenager then and she would tell me things later on about them. I can remember as a kid that it was a treat to go over relatives houses in those areas bk in the early 80s. Oak Park,Evergreen and 6-8 mile and Wyoming 7-8 mile areas. Those were some great homes.

you have to watch the documentary "rollin'' . a lot of the same footage and interviews are laid out in a more clear way in that doc. Once you see that you'll recognize people and fit the story together a bit better.
