Nice video! When I watched it however I was amazed that there was no staining of the teak under the windows as early made Taiwan built trawlers were notorious for window leaks. Were they ever re-bedded? When I bought my 1983 Albin 43' trawler in 1984, it easily passed the survey but the surveyor told me that I should immediately get all the windows re-bedded to prevent leaks in the future as they would eventually leak. I found a good marine carpenter and did just that although it was not cheap. Right up until the time I sold her some 15 years later, I never had a window leak. The fact that my interior wood was not water damaged was a huge factor when I sold my Albin for top dollar at the time. I also did not have any deck leaks as my teak decks were always heavily treated with teak oil and checked for any dried out seam caulking, hence, no fuel tank leakage. The Ford Lehman diesels that many trawlers came with back than including mine were virtually bulletproof and could provide thousands of hours of service provided they were maintained. I loved my Albin trawler!
Looking at a trawler, with original cast iron welded tanks. I haven’t been on the boat yet. It has twin Lehmans with 3100 hours. 1983 41’ Litton Europa style trawler… new canvas, very clean in pictures, dated electronics no radar. Asking buc book average. Your opinion please?

To confirm, the tank needs to be steel or fiberglass? If it’s not one of those them stay away from it?
Those would be my choices Aluminum tanks will leak the the seams at some point

You need to see the boat in person, if it’s been for sale for a while there a reason if it’s new to market get on it quickly
