Very happy with the result - definitely can do the same again this weekend. One thing that I was disappointed in was the people really digging in on Quansah even though he hasn’t been given consistent game time with Slot.
For sure Arne Slot has done wonders in such a small space of time , remember how we we're all looking forward to the past tranfer window , getting in those 2/3 extra signings and when it did'nt happen even i who would always wait and see how a new manager fairs , felt we might not compete so good because it takes time for a new manager to get the players working to his system but i could never have guessed how impressed i would be with Arne Slot and how he's worked his magic with the same players from the season before and has a system that is bringing even more out of the squad. We did well last night bar a couple of mistakes but i have certainly no worries about Quansah either , if we're talking about one mistake in the amount of time he's been playing then i think that tells you how good he is. Appreciate you as always Si , this is the sort of Liverpool fan base channel i've been waiting for and can't thank you enough for all your hard work and kindness to every one of us. Absolutely right. Slot has new things to show the existing talent and bring out their innate abilities in a new way of playing and a new perspective of the game. You can see that all the players have 100% bought into his methods and lining up and going in the same direction is a recipe for success as long as the foundational talent and effort is of the required level and I think that Klopp definitely gave a fantastic squad for Slot to work his magic. The beautiful thing is that even when we are not completely dominant or convincing, that we find a way to win and that is such an amazing trait for any team! Sai, i agree 100%, slot has chopped his team from goalie to attack, and came out with a great result! And of course, there were many mistakes, but what do you expect, it was basically a new 11... and yet these boys dug deep and despite robbo's so called, slot entrusted him with captaincy etc... so slot machine, our shiney one, i m sure he will shine in the premier league this season, esp when you see all playerz digging deep and fighting for every ball, it is like having mentality giants and the belief in winning things again... theres a huge BUZZ now at anfield... its giving me goosebumps mate!!! Nyoni coming on at #6 shows how Slot wants to build the team imo. He's determined to have a calm, progressive, intelligent baller in that position come what may. Nyoni still needs to fill out tho: he's faster than he looks, beautiful stride on him, fantastic vision, but a skinny kid. With more core strength so he cant get knocked off the ball & has a more powerful pass/shot he could be unstoppable imo. However, this can't be forced by just making him smash weights in the gym, his physique isn't suited, he'll get injured. He needs to grow into it naturally, which may take time.
Tricky thing with cup competitions this season, especially with the change in CL format. On the one hand, good that LFC progressed. On the other hand, they could definitely do with less fixtures. Less fixtures = more time to train and understand the formation and how it works, and also rest in between. Regardless, never gonna complain when LFC wins, so up the Reds!
Indeed, it is a very fine balance, but I do think every player needs something to look forward to and the EFL cup is perfect motivation for the likes of Chiesa, Bradley, Endo, Gomez, Quansah etc to give their all in training to ensure their selection. YNWA

Quansah is young and talented, but I'm not sure he'll get much gametime this season barring injuries. He made another mistake similar to the one against United and was unfortunate with the deflection, but technically both goals came about because of him. Jaros looked sensational, and with Kelleher likely to push for a move at the end of it looks like he'll be our number 2.
Indeed, his minutes will be limited but he will definitely play his fair share because there is no where Konate plays in 80% of the remaining fixtures and Joe Gomez is also needed as cover on both full back roles so that defaults to Quansah. Playing with the full first team also gives Quansah more protection and more outlets to pass to so I feel pretty confident that Slot has faith in him. Jaros will be promoted but it depends what we do with Mamardashvili. YNWA

I think the 3-2 flattered Brighton. The second goal for them deflected and beat our 3rd choice keeper 👌 we have an incredible set of goalkeepers . Jarrel is young has not a lot of game time he is still learning and has massive potential. I agree we have a solid squad, but I don’t think we have the depth and quality needed to make a deep run across all five competitions. Liverpool’s midfield, and arguably even the front line, has noticeable imbalances. Until these areas are properly strengthened, I believe it will be difficult to reach the level of our 2018/2019 peak.

haha yes, they treat those cattle like royalty! I do think we will strengthen in January and rather than a position, I think it will be on a player with certain attributes. Somewhere who is press resistant and is able to invite the press and draw players out of position before playing key passes under pressure... someone like Zubimendi! ^_^ Additionally depending on how fit Jota proves to be, he may look at a reliable striker off the bench to chip in with a crucial 5 goals.

It was a great result considering so many changes. Personally don't like that cb pairing. I would have started vvd with quansah or gomez and ibou. Slotball is looking impressive but I just don't get the playing out of defense. Apart from trent, vvd and maybe tsimi our defenders don't possess good technical ball skills. It's not as if all our defenders are like firmino!😅 We will smash Brighton at the weekend. Who would you start of left wing? Surely Gakpo is undroppable right now?

Slot clearly made the right choice for the team in taking Quansah off in that first game, but it's ruined his confidence. The fact that he was taken off at half time is a huge deal for a player, and because it was ruthless and for him losing too many duels, the next time he played, no matter what he says, that would have been at the back of his mind. You could see it a mile away. He usually plays with so much swagger and confidence, switched on, but you could see that he was a bit scared to make a mistake yesterday. That mentality and hesitancy ensured that he did make a few mistakes. I feel for him like. When he's in his rhythm and confident, he'd a Rols Royce. The fans slating him need to get a grip! No CB can just come in having not played games and be fully up to speed. Virgil was brutal for a full season when he came back!! Never mind a 20 year old kid that was hooked at half time probably embarrassed by it. He'll have lost a LOT of confidence from that, which is why we need to GET BEHIND him now! He's our youth player! I've honestly been arguing with fans for 3 years straight about Curtis Jones🤣 I can't just listen to our fan channels attack him and insist that he "isn't good enough for Liverpool," or "would have been sold ages ago if he wasn't a scouser." Those comments are nothing short of stupid. I normally respect everyone's opinions, but I can't respect an opinion that's so stupidly wrong😂. 6 separate fan channels have said this season that he isn't good enough or that he can be, but he isn't consistently good enough. Those statements are simply misinformed, uneducated, and built purely by his performances after injuries. I've repeatedly argued that over the last 2 years, thay whenever Jones has played 4 or 5 games in a row, got into a proper rhythm, built match sharpness and fitness... he's been first choice. Every single time. If he's not injured for more than a couple of months, he's been first choice. I don't understand how people forget THAT Jones?! They just seem to ignore those periods where he's made himself our best midfielder. The first one on the teamsheet. That's what he's capable of. He's naturally a better baller than Szobo and works just as much (check the stats). His only issue is fitness. Fingers crossed that he can stay fit for the whole season because he'll be absolutely vital for us. He's a match winner as well. The ability he has is world class, mark my words.
