Their music and popularity will never be fully known because although Korea already had like 5-8 major music streaming cites (back when the USA literally only had iTunes) the rules kept changing. Back then when Big Bang came out they literally stoped the ENTIRE Korean music industry. If you wanted to release music during their promos you would never get past them in the charts. They are known as GOD BANG even today because it’s a guaranteed #1, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind. unfortunately they don’t come out often, 1st generation kpop seniors say Big Bang is the most unique group to ever exist because unlike any other group who goes thru their long hiatus and their popularity dies BIG BANG does the impossible and GAIN NEW FANDOM POWER.
They are 2 members down and may never perform as a group again, last released an album 8 years ago and have only released two unpromoted singles since then - and they are still getting more subscribers on TH-cam! Amazing!

Bigbang can do all genre...their music is diverse, they all have their own style in music, fashion and dance, their voices have their own color that we know who's singing even if we don't look. We love their MV's but we dig their live performances better. They are the trendsetters in kpop. A lot of kpop idols today are Bigbang fans and literally entered kpop bec they want to be just like Bigbang.

This band is what made Kpop what it is today. Not BTS. If it weren't for Bigbang's popularity, BTS global breakout would have never happened. This band did a world tour with 1 million attendants in 2012 when BTS were still kpop toddlers. They were also the first Kpop band where most of the songs were produced by the members, notably by G-Dragon (red haired, actually a rapper), T.O.P (the first guy that started the song, also a rapper) and Taeyang (the last guy to sing in a row, one of South Korea's most excellent ballad singers, actually). G-Dragon TO DATE is the most financially successful songwriter in South Korea who gets millions of USD a year solely from copyrights. These guys paved the way for the global success of Kpop.
