I just hope they keep the super-jump. Talked to the devs in a stream and they said they kept the super-jump in Sanctuary even though they knew it was a bug. They said that they wanted people to be able to use it if that's how they wanted to play. Respect for the team!
I chose duelist because it was the only class focusing on increasing luck (crossbow scales with luck) which helps getting more item drops. Later I switched Rapier for the Whip which also scales with luck and focused on increasing arcane as well, as many whips scale with it too. I hope I can farm equipment upgrade materials soon. So far the vast majority of enemies just drop common-basic loot. (my item find is 51)
I started with the duelist, because I mistook the rapier's sheath in the icon as a wand and was interested in that sword-wand combo. Suffice to say, I was obviously wrong, but the rapier was pretty fun while I used it. Ended up crafting a katana and switching to that though - the rapier's erratic movement while comboing just didn't quite work for me because most enemies seemed to easily reach me even after backstepping with the heavy attack. I can see returning to it at some point though, when I'm more comfortable with the pace of the game. As a starting weapon, the rapier just seems a tad hard to get into, because it seems to require an actual rythm and pacing yourself. Which can be hard when you don't yet know the game's pace.
There is definitely a spike in difficulty from the previous game as well, so that can make things a bit more difficult start game getting used to stuff like the rapiers attacks.

From what I’ve seen in LP’s sage and high blade seem to have the coolest weapon skills but that’s only from a few bosses.
Class doesn't matter! Especially in the long run! I started as a tank (fighter), but completely switched to an evasive Glass Cannon type before the third boss!
A little tip for those that are watching this, the skills yiur character has can make it easy to set up your build, for example fighter starts with vanguard skills aka sword and shield and heavy armor, the sword and shield skill point is close to greatswords and cleavers path in the tree, so if you wanted to start a str character with a greatsword he would be the best.
@@Carlos-Garcia47 you gonna have to either start with one qnd progress to another ingame, so pick the samurai looking class or the sorcerer one and them get the skills for the other class as you level up.
I'd start paladin then work towards a halfspear. Get 1 fast weapon w some extra dmg type and a heavy weapon with some sort of buff. And swap the throw setting to release to make it PvP viable.

They are solid, but just have to know your weapon combo strings. There are ways to increase your weapons attack speed, so you could try to focus that kind of gear as well.
I played a couple times for about 20-30 levels and I've decided to go with duelist because it's a dexterity build. With a little luck and a little endurance. For the crossbow and the extra items and the light armor. I'm also getting the half spear highblade short bow and I think I'm going to do the whip also. I believe they're all dexterity and I just done enough Divine to get special attacks unlocked. This is the edited part. It's a dexterity and lucky build. I'm going to do a little arcane to unlock those special abilities too. My highest stat is dexterity. I'm using the high blade more now. I was using the Duelist and a little spear but the attacks are mostly straightforward thrust that's why I'm going to the high blade.
Hey man, do you mind telling me if it's possible to randomly connect with other players? I have all candles and I can see player letters but all I can do after lighting a candle is wait till I eventually give up since the game won't connect me with anybody. Are you experiencing the same problem?
I'm personally torn between Highblade and Ranger. I really like fast dex weapons that have a bit more range than daggers. I rocked a tachi build in Salt and Sanctuary, but chose the twinblade in Elden Ring.
Some of the crimes are pretty unjust for the punishment. You get too drunk one night and get condemned to either die or spend the rest of your life hunting corrupt mages? That aside nothing to stop you from headcannoning that you were framed.
@@somedude1324 why not both? For me having all the games in a single platform is neat. Steam also offers massive features like community and reviews which is a plus. This is like buying food from mini stalls where hygiene is neglected than restaurant. But the food stalls actually has the same price as the restaurant and sometimes more expensive

I never thought I'd see a sequel to the hidden gem that was Salt and Sanctuary, this is such a pleasant surprise.
The game does suck and nothing like the first. The first is one of my favorite games but this one is completely different.

I ended up going mage in Sanctuary and it was just tearing through mid-end game. One try most of the bosses at some point. Was OP.

Highblade looks really fun, reminds me of the Ronin in Rogue Legacy 2. So that'll be an easy transition into this game.

No it has less weapons than the first and even that didn’t have fists. Ideally this sacrifice was made to better balance and distinguish weapons.
