So many memories came back to me. Missing high school days, old friends, ah! Those were the days. I'm 30 now. No matter how old I get, I won't stop listening to these songs🤧
Whatever station my bus driver listened to when I was in middle school, it played this song every single morning I swear. So this song always hits me hard with nostalgia. This song and "same direction" were their two favorites of mine.
That's the thing about "older" music... there's a good chance you've "heard it"..... but never really "listened to it". I know there's a lot of music from this era that I outright ignored at the time, even if it was on the radio.... but I've gotten into it more recently.
There was always something about this song that bothered me until I finally figured it out. He keeps singing that it's all because of you, but the song is all about him. Best way to be passive-aggressive and kill an apology.
My favorite thing about this song was that it was the break up song of the time, and you would here it blasted in the school parking lot after a break up simply because it was popular and not because they actually listened to Hoobastank regularly. However the person playing it had no clue that the lyrics of the song were placing blame squarely on their shoulders.
This song was very popular twenty years ago, it was always being played on multiple stations throughout the day. Always thought the lead singer resembled John Cusack. Living in California myself, the question was easy. lol I can definitely see how this song would have affected people, whether it was coming out of a relationship or just mistakes we've made along the way. Good reaction as always you two.
Muh favorite Hoobastank song is Remember Me. I also like Out of Control while Crawling in the Dark was their break out hit. Running Away is another a lot of people have probably heard. Hope you get to dive in to more of their music!
When my ex and I first split up, she said I should listen to "broken wings" and I said she should listen to this song. Which she didn't have so went in to hmv and asked them to play it for her lol public breakdown ensued 😊
I sang this song at our inter-school fest which was unplanned since some other performance got delayed or something , I was 17 back then now i m 37, I was madly in love with a girl and being an introvert and not good looking I never had the courage to express her my feelings maybe I was more scared of the word "NO" as somebody who was close to her told me she likes somebody ekse who is way better to look at than me and I kinda give her "creepy vibes".... when i heard that I was all broken and completely shattered from inside, holding onto my tears while it felt like a thousand daggers piercing my heart..... but i wanted to talk to her for the last time but that "creepy vibes" kept going on my mind ..... so I took the mic and sang my heart out and at the end i broke down crying as I couldnt hold it any longer my voice became squeaky ....I broke my guitar and walked off the stage literally dropping the mic and never ever looked or tried to talk to her... everyone in our friends circle knew and she did as well...... moral of the story if you are good looking approch a woman cause if you are ugly then they might get "creepy vibes" even when u r not.
Y'all should check out the song Darkness by Disturbed. A friend of mine made a mix CD for me back in the early 2000s that had the track on it. I listened to it for years without knowing who tf it was. It is a great song, but sounded nothing like the Disturbed I knew in that time.
How does "Mark" get so many requests through? I've been a long-time follower, and have requested many songs over time, and get nuttin. Meanwhile, he's getting a few a week, it seems. 😄
It's simple. I sponsored heavily to help grow this channel. I'm pretty much done now. Your comments and suggestions are starting to dominate from here out. I saw these guys as fresh and wanted to push classics and obscure to get a wide audience. I hope it worked and you keep pushing your requests. You guys know the best as well. I had the means at the time. Please don't hate on them for my sponsorship. Let's enjoy the music as this channel keeps growing. Cute dog, btw 😊
@@markhodge7Oh no hate intended. Was just curious if you had a trick. Lol. I remember being a kid calling into radio stations, and trying to be "caller #10" etc, and never getting through. So TH-cam reactions are kind of similar to that 😂
Love the song. But this is also a perfect illustration of why I don't like most music videos. They rarely relate to the song and usually just distract from the song. Yes, I am an old curmudgeon.
Makes me sad this song got so big, because it's not even remotely close to what their sound actually is. I had their self-titled album, and listened to that thing until it stopped playing right. Crawling in the Dark, Running Away, Remember Me and Pieces were the best on the album. Also, The Reason has a sequel song called 'Same Direction' that you really need to hit up. Out of Control is a good one if you want something more up-tempo.
That singer must have overdone his vocal because I heard him do a live version of this a while later and he could barely hang on. It was like he was singing with laringitas.
Personally this isn't one of fav Hoobastank songs. I prefer their upbeat stuff like Crawling In The Dark, or even The Dance That Broke My Jaw (from when they were Hoobustank).
To add to what Sam was saying I remember mixed CD's coming out in some music magazines with 20+ bands on a disc. Strange mini uprise of what I'll call a sub genre of sorts. It was like a surge of Cry Baby Whining Music!!?? LIFEHOUSE was a famous one and a ton of "Christian Whine Rock!!?? To each their own though! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
I hate this song so much, crawling in the dark is a good song but the lyrics in this song are so cringe and its obvious they just tried to nake the lamest easy to write songs ever. Its so awful

This was the number one song when I was on a road trip from Indiana to Vegas. I bet I heard this song 50 times if not more.
Great freaking Song !!!
I love this song ❤
Crawling In The Dark is another good song to check out.
Crawling In The Dark by Hoobastank! 😎🔥🤘🎸

Wow, what a flash back....❤
I really enjoyed this reaction 👍
I havent heard this song in such a long time. Brings me back.
Super nostalgic, thank you for sharing your reaction ❤

Finally!!! Someone reacting to Hoobastank! "If I were you" is my favorite....
Oh I love this song! 😊❤Had forgotten it..😊

SHE LOOKING LIKE SHE LOVES THIS SONG🥰 SO HEARTWARMING TO SEE
I like this song!!
Agoura Hills, California signed in 2001 with Island Records
I wasn't a big hoobastank fan but this album was great, he can sing heavy too check out the rest of it!
Great song. College days for me
I love the early 2000's, we still had a very big diversity in music in mainstream, not like today when everything pretty much sounds the same
This song is fired! On the album with the same name in 2003
BANGER! 🔥
Crawling in the dark and Running away are great songs by them
One of the greatest power ballads of all-time! 😎🔥🤘🎸
One of the greatest jams ever imo

My wife and I favorite song when first dating. ❤ This song brings back amazing memories.

I love Mark's Magical Music requests!😂✌️❤️
This album is really good i actually saw them live long time ago!

Walking in the past 😢
Watch the video for "Same Direction"... it's a prequel and sequel to this video.
the singer always remind me Brenden Boyd of incubus
If I'm remembering correctly there was a contest and the winner got to come up with the idea for the video.
04:50 Why is Boris Johnson in this video? 😆
He was a usual hammered af and stumbled into it would be my guess
My childhood ❤q

He must have naked photos of Mr Barbell! 🤣

Part II 😁 From California?? Hmm maybe they moved there from some bad, sad place? ☮️
NEVER mention Bob Dylan without including The Traveling Wilburys
Love the song. But this is also a perfect illustration of why I don't like most music videos. They rarely relate to the song and usually just distract from the song. Yes, I am an old curmudgeon.
Please jump into the Bread rabbit hole. Start with Everything I Own.
When this band came out, I used to shout.. ''HoobaaaStaaaank!!!" after I closed a new investor investing over $25 grand with me!!!
Makes me sad this song got so big, because it's not even remotely close to what their sound actually is.

They used her as a diversion to rob the jewelry store. I agree. Random b
Too bad the didnt do the song....... Hobo Humpin Slobo Bade.....by Hoobastank.....it just works!
always thought these guys had incubus vibes
Personally this isn't one of fav Hoobastank songs. I prefer their upbeat stuff like Crawling In The Dark, or even The Dance That Broke My Jaw (from when they were Hoobustank).
What's a Hooba and why does it stank?
Is it just me I love the song and like the video but as 2 seperate things they just don't fit together

I’m pretty sure there isn’t one person alive that doesn’t like this song………
Another banger from this time was Fuel-
"Hemmorage in my hands)" huge hit and will leave you breathless!!!
Not a fan were they trying to be the most Politically correct band around at that time.
Love the song. Never liked the video.
It's literally a planned robbery if y'all would pay attention 🤣
U guys talk too much we too know English 😅😅
I hate this song so much, crawling in the dark is a good song but the lyrics in this song are so cringe and its obvious they just tried to nake the lamest easy to write songs ever. Its so awful
