  • SERIAL SHOOTING:
Tips for increasing the rate of fire without damaging the accuracy.
Before thinking to increase the rhythm of his shooting, the horseback archer should achieve three basic conditions:
    1. Correct basics:
It means to study and perform properly the fundamental elements of the archery form, (basic stance, bow grasping, nocking, locking the string, drawing, aiming, release, method of breathing), till they can be performed naturally, automatically, without taking away the attention from target.
    2. Fluid and balanced archery form:
It's about adjusting all the technical motions in such a way, that the hands can move along one continuous line, preferably a closed circuit.
The archer should balance and coordinate the motions of his arms (and body), simplifying how much possible the personal archery form (eventuality taking off all the unnecessary motions).
The chain of the technical motions should be performed with just one continuous motion, without blockages and hesitation.
At this point, already the horseback archer can manage to shoot his arrows in a higher rhythm, without lowering the accuracy.
His hands became naturally faster, without making conscious effort for increasing the shooting rate.
    3. Proper effort:
Technically is about how to align and coordinate on the shooting line the motions of the head, the body and the breathing.
Behind this three is the mind, the heart (the feeling), and the spirit.
The most import is, to adjust the chain of the technical motions according with the attitude of the archer, following his inner state.
It should be just one effort, just one aspiration: to hit the target!
The technical elements are interacting and melting in one form...
    the inner powers also!
From the moment of grasping one arrow from quiver till reaching the maximum draw, the power involved in performing the archery form should grow gradually, reaching a peak at release.
The last condition can be achieved easier through a proper breathing method, and demands a high level of concentration.
At the end the archer's determination are making the difference:
DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE SHOT, THINK ONLY OF THE TENSION... (Inagaki Genshiro,1911-1995)

One of the most talented humble masters in this field. His approach makes Asiatic archery an art and not just a show.

Awesome. I started archery by shooting the english longbow, crafted myself one after a while, made of yew, a heavy bow, with nearly 100 lbs. But meanwhile i found out that power is not just about draw weight, so i decided to get myself a horsebow. And by watching your videos i increased speed and accuracy. So, thanks for the and the many videos you posted. Can you tell me where you get your bows? I shoot a kaya nomad.
Keep on doing what you do.
    Greetings from Germany
