before the covid you can climb up to the temple without the tour, that make it really really crowded and sadly some part the temple are are damaged especially the stairs step.

5:30, actually, this non negotiable rules was just applied since Covid 19 to limit the nunber of toutist to go up. It was also to protect the temple againts very high loads. Before this, everyone could go there for free, even to the highest level, without any guide.

Hi there... Glad you come. Actualy, you could go inside a few years back, and the price was very cheap. The problem was, there were many tourists, foreign and locals, vandalized the temple, desecrated it. Some said destroyed some statues because it is musyrik according to their religion, some sprayed it, some stole some stones, some climbed the stupas, smuggled the ornaments, and many other things that desecrated the temple. So, the government restored the temple while in pandemic, and established the rule. Then the price raised tenfold, deterring people who wanted to do something bad. So if you pay the price, then it is taken that you know the temple's value, and determined to protect it. Hope you have some good time exploring Indonesia.

Actually Borobudur Temple isn't located in Yogyakarta Special Region (Provincial Level Region), but in Central Java Province... Borobudur Temple located in Borobudur Village, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. Prambanan Temple is located in Bokoharjo Village, Prambanan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region...
@@ChaseandShelbs if you are still in Yogyakarta area, go to merapi, the mountain. There they have the memorial side after the last big eruption in 2000ish also the bungker. Then enjoy the sunset at south beach Yogya choose the quiet spot.. No swimming though, its directly the indian ocean.
chase has the same foot size as mine. in prambanan when you seen that pile of rock,, it's 1 pile for 1 little temple. they got crumble cos of earth quake long time ago. if you see closer of that pile, you can see a number in each of the stone, that how they work to rebuild the temple, made it to stone 'lego' and build it numbericly and when they lost a number they carve a new stone to fit the lost one.

On minutes 20:27 the women who sells Salak said each bucket salak has different price. The one that you pic in the other side is more expensive but the lady just let you pick and it doesn’t matter for some pieces haha

thankful I made the trip to Borobudur and Prambanan in 2016 when ticket prices were much lower and we were free to go up Borobudur temple on our own and go all the way up to the highest level where the stupas are. coincidentally, it rained when we were at Prambanan. lol

Prambanan temple was built in one night is a legendary version of the story. This is due to the disconnection in history so that Javanese people are more familiar with the fairy tales told by their ancestors from generation to generation. That's the love story of Bandung Bondowoso who falls in love with Roro Jonggrang. even when I was little at school the teacher taught that version. But in higher education we have studied true history. In the Prambanan temple complex, the "Roro Jonggrang statue" is actually a statue of the Goddess Durga

about the salak lady, it's not like she doesn't let you pick the fruit yourself. But the other basket had different price. She warned you, but due to language barrier, in the end, she let you drop a few of them into the scale. She was actually being considerate with you and let you had it.

5:30, actually, this non negotiable rules was just applied since Covid 19 to limit the nunber of toutist to go up. It was also to protect the temple againts very high loads.
Before this, everyone could go there for free, even to the highest level, without any guide.

Hi there... Glad you come. Actualy, you could go inside a few years back, and the price was very cheap. The problem was, there were many tourists, foreign and locals, vandalized the temple, desecrated it. Some said destroyed some statues because it is musyrik according to their religion, some sprayed it, some stole some stones, some climbed the stupas, smuggled the ornaments, and many other things that desecrated the temple. So, the government restored the temple while in pandemic, and established the rule. Then the price raised tenfold, deterring people who wanted to do something bad. So if you pay the price, then it is taken that you know the temple's value, and determined to protect it. Hope you have some good time exploring Indonesia.

For your info...Borobudur has a "Boronudur car free night"...not just car free, it also have a lot and a lot of shows and food stalls...i 100% recommend to see it...

Actually Borobudur Temple isn't located in Yogyakarta Special Region (Provincial Level Region), but in Central Java Province... Borobudur Temple located in Borobudur Village, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province.
Prambanan Temple is located in Bokoharjo Village, Prambanan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region...

@@ChaseandShelbs if you are still in Yogyakarta area, go to merapi, the mountain. There they have the memorial side after the last big eruption in 2000ish also the bungker. Then enjoy the sunset at south beach Yogya choose the quiet spot.. No swimming though, its directly the indian ocean.
lucky for you that you could get on the Borobudur temple because it is currently closed, visitors can only see from outside

in prambanan when you seen that pile of rock,, it's 1 pile for 1 little temple. they got crumble cos of earth quake long time ago. if you see closer of that pile, you can see a number in each of the stone, that how they work to rebuild the temple, made it to stone 'lego' and build it numbericly and when they lost a number they carve a new stone to fit the lost one.
He has a hard time finding shoes that fit him haha! Oh that’s great to know. Thank you for sharing.. we are super curious what was going on! 😀

on the back side of borobudur there is mt merapi and its status is active.

if you want to enjoy more view of other temples and enjoy the beautiful sunset or so n rise, you have to go to Dieng montain. Land above the clouds... suggest for you if you meet a lot of people, don't be shy to greet/interactive and let them know you're a TH-camr. they will definitely be happy and subscribe to your TH-cam. thankful I made the trip to Borobudur and Prambanan in 2016 when ticket prices were much lower and we were free to go up Borobudur temple on our own and go all the way up to the highest level where the stupas are. coincidentally, it rained when we were at Prambanan. lol
