    How strong are those pins? Also how would corrosion from the sea water effect that pin mechanism? Also how do you know if all the pins made it into that groove?

      Isaac, those pins are circumferential Dogs and are made from 690 MPa material.
      The mechanism is protected from corrosion by coating and CP of the overall system.
      The Conical mating profile of the Male and Female parts only allows engagement of the Dogs all at the same time.

This new method allows for riser connection without the need for divers, significantly reducing the life-threatening risks inherent in the traditional operation.
