I remember going to the first development camp that Mangiapane was a part of for the Flames and I had a crazy feeling his play style and skating would find him in the NHL some day, never did I think though that he’d be capable of driving top 6 play and putting up 35 goals in a season, super promising career for a young and fiesty forward 🔥
Mangiapane had a spectacular season and has scored several important goals. An excellent performance! GO FLAMES GO!
You really think his contract is good though? He is a winger that makes more than the likes of RNH but doesn’t play center, isn’t that amazing defensively, and averages less points. Also comparable money wise to other wingers in his budget he seems a little underwhelming. I guess luckily it’s only 3 years so it’s not a bad contract at all just seems a little underwhelming that’s all.

Guy piled up goals in the fall but by new year he coasted home cause he knew he scored enough goals to get paid. I guess you could say from January on it was basically a “no show job” for him.
Or he wanted to stay on the team and he knew if he got too hot then they wouldn’t be able to afford him🤷🏼♂️
