Nice little packing video. The only difference in how I package is I always use some tissue paper to prevent scuffing. So a layer of tissue paper around the CD, then wrap in cardboard, then package. I do that on low value items as well just to keep the standard. The only other thing is on the last package I would have used a sheet of paper below, and another on top. Not for shipping purposes, your package was travel fine. I do it in case the customer opens with a knife. A bit of protection between the borax and product just in case. Sometimes if the box seems extra tight I will put a 3” wide piece of cardboard in there. So, first flaps down, a piece of cardboard, second flaps down and tape.
I think I over pack a lot but I honestly think the shipping is critical with customers. Pictures, descriptions, and pricing are important to shoppers. Once a shopper clicks buy, they are a customer. All they are thinking about is the shipping time/quality at that point.

Thanks so much!! Great tips on the tissue and it’s always best to err on the side overpacking in my opinion. Like you said, once you have a buyer, it’s a chance to have a return customer if you provide them with a top notch experience!! Thanks for always watching and supporting the channel!!

I ship my CDs similar to how you're doing it but I use one square of bubble off of a roll, scrap card board and a poly bag.

sold my first golf clubs recently, the only thing holding me back from listing and selling them was the box. Now that i know how to make a good strong box for around $ 1.50 , its time to list some clubs ! I use those same Wal Mart boxes when needed and the paper !

Awesome!! I know that feeling! I have put off listing many times because I was either intimidated by the shipping or didn’t have the proper boxes. I finally ordered some of the 4x4x48 boxes from U-line a few months back for my golf clubs. I got tired of making them and begging at golf shops. lol!! Thanks for watching!

I did order some boxes but found I needed a 6x6 or even a 7x7...I also build them triangular as they are much stronger. UPS charges 9.99 for a 6x6. Unless I find some really high value clubs , I'm thinking after I sell what I have , it's almost not worth the hassle .

I mostly target higher value stuff and sets. I’d prefer them to be $40-50 plus shipping or more with low buy cost.

I didn’t get bubble mailers. I only have the poly mailers so I’ll do the cardboard and bubble wrap around the cd. That should be enough right. Also, how much does it cost to ship that bundle of cds in the 6x6 box?

@@ThrifterPicker yep. I’ve done the same thing before myself.

Have you considered using a cheaper tape, like scotch tape or wrapping paper tape on the paper and inside packing material stuff, and saving that expensive duct tape or "box" tape for the shipping boxes only. That is some high dollar tape you are putting inside the box just to hold paper together, when it is really meant to be on the outside holding boxes together. I bet you would cut down on cost of goods. Also maybe a cheaper source for boxes. Just hoping to help. Love you brother. Be blessed.

All suggestions to lower costs are always welcome!! Guess I’ve just got accustomed to using the packaging tape because it’s always handy. But you’re right, I should probably get a roll of masking tape for this part. I’m sure it would save. As far as boxes go, I’ve priced them at several places and unless I order in large bulk amounts, it’s really hard to beat the price for the two smaller boxes I get at Walmart due to the added shipping costs at places like U-line. However, I am open to any suggestions or cheaper options if you know of any. Good looking out my friend and thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!

So far we are very similar on how we do things. However, I haven't gotten to the point that I can afford buying Wally world boxes. Lol 😆

It’s been a couple years now, but I think I got it at Walmart and I’m pretty sure it was the Duck tape brand.
