    First of all, thank you Sir for these two temperate reviews of Chypre Palatin and Invasion Barbare. I've almost thought it doesn't get any better respectively in each category (for those who a specially love notes listed for these creations) and that they are must-haves for me. Only now I see one doesn't have to be so excited about them.
    I also would like to say that I continuously admire your approach and find it very familiar and respectful.
    Now, I insist on you to try out HdP 1725, because... well, I think you just need to, once you're opened to lavender note. Take care!

    I enjoyed your review- this scent has been my favorite for years but I pair it with Heely "Cardinal" to add more depth and character.

    I like Invasion Barbare a lot and it lasts longer on me than Sartorial, i was left very disappointed by that one. Maybe I got a newer and reformulated batch or whatever but I cant even get 2hrs out of Sartorial, though I enjoy the classy scent of it

    Nice one Pep.. I don’t own it just because of cost. I have Dua’s Invasion of the barbers. Love it , amazing in every way. 😬

    I purchased Invasion Barbare back in 2016/2017 with a nice discount.
    I like it because of it's airyness , not a word, like Hermes's Ambre Narguile .
    Sometimes I like the airy's .
    Pep, if you haven't yet, try sampling Nishane's Sultan Vetiver.
    _best wishes to ya_

      I am wearing Sultan Vetiver as I read your comment. It has taken a while to grow on me.

      @@TheScentinel The opening , yup.
      Damp musty clothes in a basement.
      That passes on me though.
      Maybe it's the java vetiver oil ?
      Not sure .
      After that, it turns nice.
      Boy , I have some damp musty basement patchouli's though.

    I agree that Sartorial is perhaps a more complex take on the same style of perfume (Bertrand Duchaufour is certainly a stronger perfumer than Stephanie Bakouche). However, I do think that MDCI is more versatile and more youthful out of the two (not to say it is juvenile but Invasion Barbare can be worn by younger crowd while Sartorial is more for the mature audience, I think).

    Thank you sir! It is a great fragrance on its own, but I get the same TYPE of dry down in any Prada L’homme frag. Havnt tried Satorial, but I’m curiou to know what Endymion and Halfeti Cedar smell like

    Great stuff, Pep! I haven’t sampled much from this house (or nose) but violet and cardamom sounds intriguing. I also got a bit of a vibe that this might have kind of a “Geurlain-ade” feel to it. Would that be accurate? -Chris

    • @TheScentinel
      @TheScentinel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chris, admittedly i don't consider myself anywhere near an expert on Guerlainade, but there is a dusty vanillin in the base that people might connect to it. Thank you.

    I also prefer Chypre Palatin from the MDCI. Won't be getting a bottle since I already have 1725, but the almond in Casanova can sometimes get a bit cloying on me. Invasion Barbare doesn't have that effect.

    • @brenobreno2811
      @brenobreno2811 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try Caron PuH L'eau. Its a better version of 1725 Casanova whitout almond.

    I ran through a bottle of IB. And have yet to purchase another. It’s a lovely perfume. I now cringe at the price. And so two bottles of Third man from Caron have taken The place of IB. $80 well spent. I probably spent the difference in price between the two at the grocery store.

      I gotta say Thomas, i think i underplayed the drydown in the review. For me it's the best part of the scent, but i get the same satisfaction from Sartorial

    Gotta try 1725 I got 15ml size bottle for 40 bucks and it’s amazing and I think better then the mdci

  • @B.B.M.R

    A very potent dusty powdery and musky LAVANDER eastern-barbershop scent which is nice.
    Very long lasting and very shouty.
    Is it worth the price? Well, they all cost producers 30-40 dollars per bottle, depending on presentation. Its up to someones level of consumerism. IB is not unique, there are scents for less price. Not a safe blind buy product.
    Dont be lazy and try offline and do it with all perfumes.

    I blind bought my bottle directly from MDCI, and it put me off because the cumin note is too strong, while sartorial and 1725 are way safer at this point. For me, it's disappointing that spent that much money on a bottle that I have sprayed 10 times and couldn't get along with it or love it. As always I enjoyed your review. Thanks

    • @TheScentinel
      @TheScentinel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheScentinel I don't really either .
      I do get a that cedar pencil shavings.
      I forgot if that's the Atlas or Virginian cedar. that does that.
      I think I have 1725 in their 14 ml .
      Got it for free from Twisted Lily back in those Stamatis days.
      He was the first owner,
      I have a 30ml of Satorial that I got from Penhaligon's when they used to have great deals.
      It's strong on me .Last a long time.
      The lavender is a bit rough at first.
      I very much like the lavender in Clive's L .
      Wish it lasted , but it's overtaken by to much woody's .
      I have a 5 and 10 ml of it from their Travel Collection .
      Got deals on them to. You have too.
      Anyways Pep, going to bed . Talk soon.

      Hey man, are you interested in selling a decant of yours? I have a decant right here that I like, but after hearing about possible reformulations, I am worried about buying a full new bottle. would be interested in buying one of your decants, and if I like it, potentially the whole bottle if you no longer want it!
