    Love, love, love it! I would say that area probably had not seen wildflowers before 2015 because of the thick upper canopy...but as you say, "Circle of life," and to have those amazing views the whole way, Fantastic! My grandmother had two big red current bushes right out her back door, and when in season, she would just step out, pick what was ripe, and made the most fabulous red current jelly! I remember seeing those bags hanging and dripping all that red juice...Yummy for sure! Nope, not dumb...I'd be blubbering right along with you...we would be a blubbering duo! It is amazing to think of all the water that passes over these falls in a lifetime and never stops! Oh...my...goodness...let the tears begin...if Otis were allowed, he would be soaked with my tears and the waterfall spray all mixed together! No matter how difficult life can be some times, I can always count on leaving with a smile on my face after spending time with you guys...you truly are more of a blessing than my words could ever express! Thank you so very much...Bruce and Otis

    Beautiful! Have said it before but all that water & greenery is such a treat for a desert dweller. Didn’t make it as far as Glacier on my big road trip this summer, it was already September by the time I finished at Yellowstone & had to head back south toward home. Am so sorry I missed it, maybe in a couple of years I can head back that direction. Was there many years ago, think I was about 8. Don’t remember much about it. That was part of my goal this past summer, seeing again places I hadn’t been to for many years.

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, it is too risky to drive Glacier that late in the year. On the other hand, if the weather had cooperated that might have been the perfect time to go to avoid the huge crowds. We love the desert by the way. This will be the first time in many years that we will not be spending the winter in AZ. Thanks for watching!

    • @ruthhilsdorf3210
      @ruthhilsdorf3210 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have gone since it was early September but I had a schedule, had to be home by the 10th & it would have made me late. I have lived in the desert all my life & love its unique beauty but also love the high country. Basically I was taught to love the outdoors in general & to find what makes each area special. I’m hoping to get to Quartzsite this January. Had to miss it last year due to work demands. It’s so much fun boondocking in the desert with friends!

    I'm happy that you had a good experience at Glacier! Our family visited in late July and could not do a single hike because it was too crowded and there was not a single parking spot on the entire Going to the Sun Road. Hundreds of cars were parked illegally and unsafely along the road, with many people, even young kids walking on the road. The only way to truely manage crowds and allow everyone to enjoy the park is to allow buses only, like they do in Denali. Until then, our family won't be back.

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are saddened that things didn't work out for you. It is an amazing national park. We made a point of being there at 5:30 in the morning. By the time we got back to the parking lot after our hike, it was nearly full. They also run buses at Zion National Park in southern Utah. It seems to work well for them at that national park. However, the Going to the Sun road is extremely narrow in spots, I am not sure that they could take shuttle buses along parts of that road. Anyhow, I hope you do have a chance to visit it on a less busy day. Thanks!

    • @GrassRootsLiving
      @GrassRootsLiving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! We asked a park host whose background was in that very subject. It has something to do with the Glacier breaking up a certain type of rock. The sediment from the crushed rock is picked up and carried away by the water. It changes the color to that shade of blue. It is so beautiful!
