Further define the lines, redefine the lines more and more by contrasting the light tones with the dark tones ever so slightly as to recreate the lines similar to a robe when it is pushed up when one is greeting another... or the Propismos or something..

I believe he uses egg/water solution mixed with powder pigments.

Egg yolk, tiny bit of vinegar and a little bit of water. That is being mixed with the dry pigments
