Virtual Ram slows down the phone considerably. These days, most phone come with 8gb ram. And that's good enough for anything kind of task a phone needs to perform. The storage used for internal memory isn't nearly as fast as a RAM. Hence, please turn off the virtual ram booster after getting a phone.
@@sebastian_manuells That phone will most likely need an upgrade. and if that phone has 4gb RAM, it's internal storage is even slower than current UFS 3.1 (for mid range). Virtual Ram wouldn't do you any good. Phones, computers all these have 2 types of Memory. Internal storage is secondary memory. Whereas, RAM is primary memory. Think of them as 2 different class of storage. Because they are 2 completely different class of storage.
That is true.RAM is ultra fast type of storage, but that needs constant power while UFS/SSD is a slower kind of storage that retains data even after power is cut off.Besides RAM chips are costlier to manufacture as compared to the increasingly cheaper UFS/SSD chips.
I think Motorola is lying by saying that edge 50 pro has UFS 2.2, whereas it seems to have UFS 3.1 because scoring so high on storage tests can't be possible alone by software optimization itself. If that was the case, wouldn't the engineers at Nothing made such good optimizations to make their Phone 2A even better? If Moto does actually have UFS 2.2, then it is actually a big feat for their software team.
Their peak speed is that of a normal UFS 2.0 Phone, however, unlike most others, Motorola managed to make it even reach something close to that speed regardless of what you are doing. In random Access, Motorola managed similar speed of UFS 4.0 out of UFS 2.2. It's still just 700MB per sec in those harder tasks, however, an iPhone 15 drops down to 50MB per sec at more complicated tasks. Motorola didn't increase the UFS 2.2 Potential per say, instead, they made it so stable that it simply outclasses UFS 3.1. Phones in any task, by not ever dropping hard in speed.
For SSDs the bottleneck is actually in the controller and the NAND chips, not the interface. For example, a PCIe gen 3 optane drive will absolutely destroy even the most high end PCIe gen 5 NAND drive in random r/w. And even on older interfaces you can increase r/w speeds using more parallel chips. That's why on SSDs you see 1TB performing better than 512GB model, which in turn performs better than 256GB model, and so on. Using all these factors you can make SSDs on older interfaces like UFS 2.0 be quite performant too.
ufs spec is the max speed. the random speed is not dependant on it, and is the most important one. moto is better at random read/write, hence better at storage. same can be said for computer ssd's (eg samsung 990 evo vs solidigm p44 pro)
This is a great video. Just make sure you incorporate these things in the next mobile review you do, like HBM, Random read/write speed for storage etc.

Very good video. One thing I'd like to point out is that you charged the Moto Edge 50 at a state of charge of 86%. Li-Po Batteries reach constant voltage mode at around 60-70% SOC and thereby the wattage drops. Try measuring the charge Watts at 20% to 40% SOC to make it a fair benchmark.

Sometime they just fool you with the software. Newer apps are built using newer hardware. Even if your hardware is old but pretty solid you will get low benchmark.
UFS 3.1 only helps when you do a lot of multitasking and copy large files often. Otherwise, on day-to-day task, it is hard to see any major difference. Yes, the app launches a little bit faster, but here the difference is just a few milliseconds and doesn't affect us in any way.
You do know that proprietary charging tech won't activate with third party cables right? Edit : Moreover with first party cables you can charge other devices faster but not even at regular speeds with third party cables.
Battery backup and charger wattage play major role in making our day to day life either heaven or hell on earth. Lower battery capacity leads to frequent phone charging i.e. two or more charging times a day depending on the individuals usage and this model of Motorola that you covered has a very bad battery capacity and I hate to carry my charger everywhere I go. In my case, I would have to charge thrice by the end of the day which destroys my peace of mind as I'm a power user. If I'm buying a phone I want to just carry my phone with me while I go outdoors, but not my charger too along with me thinking and worrying about my phone's charging which is so stressful. Now let's talk about the elephant in the room which is the 125W charger. It completely destroys the phone's battery within 2 years, mark my words. Higher wattage and high speed charging reduces the battery's backup and life. The slower the battery is charged - the longer it lives and the higher its charge holding capacity throughout the day. Become wiser by thinking and making the right decision guys, don't let the companies fool you with their saying that they've got 125W or 150W chargers, those chargers can destroy the battery. Make sure the charger wattage is low to save battery backup holding capacity and battery life of your mind. Thanks for reading patiently.
Phone got better battery life than any of it's 5000mah competition, so you have to charge it about the same amount of time than the Nord CE4 that has 5500mah.

Keep it up!💪
My techno smartphone also has ufs 2.2 but have almost as poco f5 ufs 3.0
3:31 this phone is just an exception, other phones with ufs 2.2 can't beat ufs 3.0 and also ufs 2.2 in moto can't beat ufs 4.0 in poco X6 pro, so in the end specs viewers can't be wrong 😂😂
It still beats it in random storage Access which is more relevant to the OS, so UFS 2.2 beats 4.0 partially but with just a really slow difference
Be careful, your X6 Pro might definitely die when the warranty expires.
Nice and informative video, Prateek.

Bro is galaxy A35 good enough for normal usage... By normal usage i mean no gaming, 4-5 hrs calling time and normal browsing. People often say it heats... My question is does it heat under normal usage in india or does it heat under heavy operations like gaming or while running benchmark tests?
Bro if you want a samsung phone for that you can buy a35 or even m55 its at 25 thounsand after discount
M and f series from Samsung is better than A series try to avoid A series to save money
What iam trying to say is if you what to buy mobile under 30000rs buy f or m series of samsung
Do not buy a Samsung phone under 40k. Look for other options.
