America and Philippines are close allies since ww2. I think Americans can stay in PH up to 90days visa free. Then they have to apply for an extension if they want to stay longer.

I'm really confused how he spent all his savings on a plane ticket. Granted we book 3-6 months in advance, but my wife and I usually pay around $1200 each for round trip from Detroit to Manila. He's flying one way and from Vegas which is closer. Google flights says it's a $500 ticket for the soonest available flight. But at the same time I'm also not sure if he really booked one way because the first question they ask at Philippine immigration is when you're flying back home so they can stamp your passport. My wife's passport doesn't have those same stamps in it as mine. I'm not an expert but don't think they allow you to come to the Philippines as a tourist without having a return flight booked. What I do know is that this year the Philippines government decided to crack down on foreigners who over stay their visit. Loren is probably going to manipulate his way into overstaying and get himself arrested.
