The laser musket is my favorite gun in fallout 4. It really levels with you and has a hard time becoming irrelevant with the huge exception of VATS users, the laser musket just gives a big flying bird about you
I got a neverending laser musket once. 50 cranks on that puppy and I was 1-shotting mirelurk queens. It couldn't be used as my primary weapon since laser musket, but whenever a really tough enemy showed up... buh-bye.
you can also use it as a sniper if you have a stable enough aim and use another gun to get the crosshair on the target XD ( about 15 cranks should nuke anything with stealth attacks XD may need a few more for legendry's idk i use vats to check my targets before sniping sense i use a simple mod that lets vats target things that you can clearly see sense in the base game you have to get abit to close for my liking XD )

I did this unintentionally on first playthrough but only for like half the game. When I got musket from Gravy it was strongest weapon and I molded it for cranks and used it all the way through Corvega, Nation Guard, Unlikely Valentine and Fort Hagan. Yeah my build was a mess but honestly felt very post apocalyptic like weapons being cobbled together and all that. It took me like an hour just to go thru Super Dupermart picking through everything.
Boosting reload speed, damage, crit chance, and upping your cranks on the musket really make the weapon quite a beast, despite how many people crap on it.

Laser Musket is one of the best weapons. I used one almost exclusively during my minuteman play through. Around level 12-15 (don’t remember exactly when) I got an instigating laser musket off a gunner while defending oberland station. No enemy was ever an issue after that lol.
This was a great one, love these Fallout 4 challenges. Laser musket can be a pretty awesome and fun weapon. My wife and I would like to see a Child of Atom run sometime in the future, would be phenomenal!

I'm new here, very much a fan of the series, binge watched it and happy to see more, I had an idea (just one of those shower thoughts really) for a challenge run that you could apply to any of the fallout games that you would want, but the "You must use every new item" run, where you have to always replace everything you are using with whatever new you find, regardless of if it's better or worse, granted it might not be a fully functional idea in the context of fallout gameplay, but wanted to share it nonetheless

I appreciate your dedication to these types of videos. I have trouble dedicating the time to play games these days. But videos like this encourage me to bust out the xbox and try something new
It's actually my favourite gun in both design and practical use. It has that upcycle feel and can be a practical weapon when used properly as a ranged weapon. I use mine all the time though mine is upgraded alot.
@@InsaneFrame agreed. Though the minutemen needed extra campaigns to give them a heroic ending better. I had mine where they become leaders of the common wealth called the unified govern settlements. The idea would be the minutemen are the primary milletary with other groups being built and once they begin creating defensive positions and clear out the centre of the common wealth they destroy the other threats with the raiders last. Once gone their are still small pockets out their that attack settlements but the new goverment will begin rebuilding most of the commonwealth whilst arresting other faction followers such as the brotherhood, railroad and institute survivors and you being the General leading the defence of this proud new commonwealth. Again my own ideas if I wrote the story further and made new uniforms for the minutemen that puts other designs together to show a new age and stronger minutemen. As a costume maker I would be proud to make one. I might do for my other channel.

Great video, looking forward to the triggerman video. I saw you using the laser musket in close quarters fairly often. It's a great sniper but if I think I'll be in close quarters I put the long un-bracketed barrel on it as well as a beam splitter to make a laser blunderbuss of sorts. Very fun
Now on to the hand made laser rifle nice. Common belief is that it could have been like the recharger rifle and pistol from New Vegas but Bethesda mess up
I was caught by surprise when you said you joined the brotherhood, I figured because you were using a musket you would go for a minute man but to be honest it's such a great weapon could be used for any faction and it's a awesome sniper rifle.
I never had liked the weapon. I could see a cranking energy weapon if the crank WAS the power source, rather than a feeding mechanism. Something like we do for flashlights and radios. A few cranks equals a few shots. That would make sense with a Minutemen style group in an apocalypse setting -- crank time rather than scrounging for fusion cells. I've ALWAYS thought that Minutemen ought to have oversized arm muscles thanks to this weapon. Maybe Popeye style?
i think this idea would be really good, you’d probably have to make the cranks slower to balance it considering the laser musket is pretty strong but it would be a cool way to make the weapon more unique
The one thing I find funny about the railroad group is that the developers just decided to make the secret code railroad Wich is ironic because it's the name of the faction
Laser Musket is one of the strongest weapons. A scope, barrel, stock & 4-6 crank capacitor let you 1-shot anything from a good distance or in vats & the sneak+criticals are insane.
You know what would be fun to see? "Can you beat Fallout 4 with a Protectron" like it has to be a Protectron in the shape of one at minimum, and of course can be the only one that does damage.
You should do fallout 4 but with only silver shroud items like the silver sub machine gun and the clothes Edit: I think you already did it for far harbor but you should try the main game

Getting guaranteed criticals with the laser musket via Luck based perks is super useful for 1 shoting legendary enemies so you don’t have to deal with mutations.
I've used a musket as a primary weapon in at least one playthrough. Fantastic sniper weapon. Although I did have a sidearm for close combat, so it wasn't an "only musket challenge". Nowadays I actually use a mod that makes it require no ammo, so it's a lot easier to use as a main weapon. Sometimes I mod it as a mid range weapon, staying away from any mods that lower hip fire accuracy. Sometimes I mod it for ultimate sniping. Other sniping weapons just feel so weak compared to it, and I have tried using Righteous Authority as a replacement sniper. The Agility 8 perk fast hands, which increases reload speed, is so helpful with this gun. Crank fast.
I love the laser musket, fast hands is your best friend. Also, I never grab the Perception bobblehead at the start. If you level it up to 10 and then grab it you'll crank it up to 11.
Would that be perception to 10 or level 10(highly doubt but asking anyways) and what's making it go beyond 6 which he said was the max in the beginning, Would be nice to know plz!^-^
Nice video but I would allow 1 mod. It changes the appearance of the laser musket to a much better version. It does not alter its damage or how it works but it does make it look much more realistic.
I have a six crank focused laser musket with a long range scope that dealt 38 damage per shot, multiplied by 6 (each crank multiplies the damage), then combining that with headshots and sneak attacks... in the words of phil swift... THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!
People rag on the musket, but I found it to be a one-hit killing champion all the way through the game. In fact, my biggest issue would be that I over-prime the weapon, wasting more ammo than I needed.
A two shot one is the most powerful weapon in the game normally the second shot does the base damage of the unupgraded version however with the laser musket both beams get the damage increase of multiple cranks
It’s really good if you need mini gun ammo because you can put a mini gun and one 5mm round on a dead body and if a raider picks it up you can kill the raider and get a extra 500 bullets.
Yknow you can help PAM at the railroad twice to unlock ballistic fiber to upgrade clothing and stack with your armor. Making you basically wear power armor without actually wearing it
i will say there is a really well made mod that really makes some weapons far more balanced and fun like the laser musket one it adds the option to have even more charges or there is one that drops its damage but lets you not need ammo but can only store 2 shots XD it effects other guns to but it mostly brings weapons inline with each other with out being broken on harder difficulty's
Personally i think it's great as a sniper. Unless I'm in open combat with swarms we're i crank it once or twice but with preparation you crank it all the way, take a vantage point and start sniping people
is anyone else annoyed that despite the apparent source of the charge being the crank it still somehow requires fusion cells? That never made sense to me, still love the gun though.
I am doing a somewhat related run. Im doing a improvised weapons run. Allowes are the new improvised granade launcher, all pipe guns, the flamer, laser musket and the CC handmade shotgun. Guns like tge handmade rifle from nuka world are not alloeed, as that gun, paired with the v mmando perk, is stupidly op
I recently downloaded a joke mod that plays crank that by Soulja boy any time you or an NPC cranks the Lazer musket and I think that was the first and last time I ever actually used a Lazer musket. I had to disable my replacer mod just for the joke 😂
you missed a weapon and some brotherhood armor on the upper part of the barrier at the police station edit: you can only get it the first time you meet the brotherhood because if you return after the corpse is gone.
Back in the day, a good soldier with a musket could fire 3 rounds a minute. With a laser musket, a well-trained Minuteman can probably fire 6

Dunno bro 10 cranks plus stealth x2 damage kills almost anything except legendary enemies

There's a mod called "Useful crank" on the nexus. It makes it take no ammo, and starts with I think 2 or three shot crank at concord
I can already tell that this will be great and to be honest this is one of my favourite weapons in fallout 4 other than Kelloggs pistol.

I got a automatic laser musket in my play through just recently, was surprised but that would have been a good addition to this playthrough
the weapon sorta reminds me of the deathcorps of krieg in 40k , where they use single shot lasguns that while slow deal massive amounts of damage

The musket is even more scarey if you use a mod to just be a crank weapon with no ammo needed
It will be super like if you get the laser musket with the NeverEnding effect your character will charge endlessly the musket

A two shot one is the most powerful weapon in the game normally the second shot does the base damage of the unupgraded version however with the laser musket both beams get the damage increase of multiple cranks

It’s really good if you need mini gun ammo because you can put a mini gun and one 5mm round on a dead body and if a raider picks it up you can kill the raider and get a extra 500 bullets.

Yknow you can help PAM at the railroad twice to unlock ballistic fiber to upgrade clothing and stack with your armor. Making you basically wear power armor without actually wearing it
i will say there is a really well made mod that really makes some weapons far more balanced and fun
like the laser musket one it adds the option to have even more charges
or there is one that drops its damage but lets you not need ammo but can only store 2 shots XD
it effects other guns to but it mostly brings weapons inline with each other with out being broken on harder difficulty's
Personally i think it's great as a sniper. Unless I'm in open combat with swarms we're i crank it once or twice but with preparation you crank it all the way, take a vantage point and start sniping people

Im doing a improvised weapons run.
Allowes are the new improvised granade launcher, all pipe guns, the flamer, laser musket and the CC handmade shotgun.
Guns like tge handmade rifle from nuka world are not alloeed, as that gun, paired with the v mmando perk, is stupidly op

I recently downloaded a joke mod that plays crank that by Soulja boy any time you or an NPC cranks the Lazer musket and I think that was the first and last time I ever actually used a Lazer musket. I had to disable my replacer mod just for the joke 😂

you missed a weapon and some brotherhood armor on the upper part of the barrier at the police station
edit: you can only get it the first time you meet the brotherhood because if you return after the corpse is gone.
