he said his dad gave him the things that he DIDN'T want. I took it the other way, his dad leaving him with bad traits/genetics that make him vulnerable to addiction, depression, aggression perhaps
Agreed. When he was growing up his dad was an alcoholic and they used to fight all the time. Then he left him to be a missionary. So I also took that as everything he didn’t want as in addiction, constant drinking/alcoholism, anger etc
This wasn’t MGK or Machine Gun Kelly…he gave us Colson Baker with this one…all the vulnerable, raw, painful energy. He’s been my favorite artist for like 15 years now and I am so excited to see the new era of healing he’s entering!
This was early Mgk if you listened around 2012. So, it's still Mgk. He just being vulnerable again and allowing himself to release a song that isn't just catered toward his new hollywood persona. I agree though with you in the end. This isnt the recent Mgk. LACETFUP
@@dakotahbarnhill4861that’s what I’ve been telling people as beautiful as this song is everybody is so shook and this is him in his purest and rawest form
MGK is my favourite artist he's misunderstood gets so much hate and still to this day don't understand why!! Kells is crazy talented and this track is him being vulnerable pouring his heart out with his struggles and pain he's gone thru in life. It's raw and authentic💯 This song is🔥🔥🔥 I have nothing but love and respect for this man🙏🖤
Its always so cringy seeing those people who only know about him because of the Eminem beef and talk about him as if that's all he ever did in his life. Its like they are stuck in that year and don't bother to do research on anything ever. I Mean hell even if we go based on just the Eminem drama alone, MGK thrived off of that drama and gree his fan base ten fold because he's one of the rare people to go up against Eminem and not get destroyed. If course en Eminem fan buys talk about it like it's a clear cut victory for em but it's not. Who's diss track was better is pretty split down the middle in terms of opinions. Alot of people thought MGK had the better one including me. The funny thing is I was one of those people who didn't know about MGK before that beef and thought "who's this clown?" And only after I listened to one song of his and another and another and started looking more into him did I start to do a full 180 on my view of him and he's gone on to become one of my favorite artists probably of all time. He's also the reason I stopped judging celebrities and writers when they say something controversial or get into drama on the Internet. At r end of the day that's just them getting attention to keep the money flowing in. It doesn't reflect who they are deep down and for all you know they might be really down to earth amazing people that can teach you a thing or 2. Yob just gotta ditch the tribalistic judgemental attitude and look beyond the surface level view that Internet drama often gives us and alot of people sadly aren't capable of doing that.
Same thing here, been my favourite artist since the lace up EP, so since 2010 or whatever, damn I've had to defend him against the most outlandish views through the years. But us who have followed him have always seen his pain, and his ability to pour it out and be a voice for the, in a way fucked up people is second to none imo!
The line where he says "I was supposed to die at birth" hit me so hard... It really surprised me when I found out how he was born because it's the exact same way I was born.. with the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck... I've been listening to him since day 1 and he has helped me through so much in my life. I'm so grateful for his honesty in his music. He's an amazing person and so strong. And I'm not not talking about his "character" MGK, I'm talking about Colson.
I think I had something similar, I was medicated with ketamine or sum shit and they found out the hard way I was allergic to it and I stopped breathing, doctors tried to kill me bruh😭💀
I have lost two of my cousins that never had a chance in life from the umbilical cord being wrapped around their neck and my aunt had to give birth to their bodies. I am so happy to hear that some can survive that like you and MGK!
same here dude, i also had umbilical cord around my neck, i also shouldve died at birth, but God had other plans for me and my life, just like he did with you and Colson(MGK)

"I'm coming back just let me go.... I shouldn't be doing this" like they know deep down. That's how I interpreted it at least.
Means a lot when an artist like this shares this way, he’s always portrayed this tough exterior and this kind of thing brings them back to being human, this song means a lot to me and appreciate your perspectives
The way he first says "I'm coming back, just let me go" is a way to comfort his loved ones when he leaves out the door, because they don't know if he's coming back because of the bad state he is in when he leaves the house. Followed up eventually with "I'm coming back, don't let me go" which is basically him saying he's lying that he'll come back and his loved ones should stop him from leaving the house, because he might never come back with the sole reason to end it.
It’s songs like this that take me back and realize that I knew I made the right choice when inspiring me to name my son Colson…. After this man right here

Young sir, i thank God this man is in your life. Can tell instantly he's a good dude and he's authentic. Seems to have helped raise a fine young man as well. Need to see more of it. Almost instantly made me sub. Thanks. Keep it up fellas
When he says his biggest fear is dying and not leaving anything behind.................... he is talking about a legacy as in impact on society, making sure everything he is doing is helpful to someone else, like when he said "Fuck what's meant for me, because I don't ever wanna become a celebrity I don't ever want someone to feel less than me So put your camera down and stand next to me " He is talking about making sure he is remembered as someone who was not just a High end celeb, but someone who see's other humans as HUMANS and just wants to help them through hard times as he wishes someone would have done for him....................... Hate this man or not, this song truly humbles us as humans. To see that this persona CELEBS are given is not who they truly are, they have issues and struggle just as you and i do on a day to day basis.
The Im coming back just let me go is something Ive battled with for sooo long…im a battling alcoholic there’s been so many times Ive told my wife im fine just let me do my thing im good don’t worry and in reality it’s please don’t let me do that again im slipping just pull me back please “don’t let me go”..this song just resonates with me so much thank you for reacting to it!
I feel like every time he says “I’m coming back, just let me go” 3 times then says “I’m coming back, don’t let me go” is because of depression and anxiety we all tend to tell people that we love and care about that everything is fine, that I’m fine and to just leave us alone but in the end we breakdown and tell them to not leave us.
The cross being the center of the blackout tattoo....plus his reference to being Christian again, I think MGK is trying to do exactly that, grow up and move on from the past
If you like deep rap take a listen to NF. His entire catalog is deep and relatable. This song gave me big NF vibes but with that unmistakable MGK touch
It's a cry for help. He's basically saying I've been trying to tell yall for years listen to what I'm sayin before it's too late. Keep your head up mgk
If your dad really enjoyed this song from mgk, I would highly recommend him to listen to mgk's Hotel Diablo album. song after song like this one. true art from mgk. same to you as well!
As someone who was also supposed to die at birth, Had the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck, was like completely grey, and not breathing, That line hits different.
First time seeing a reaction from ya’ll. I love how attentive you are to the song and the lyrics. This is a very deep song about things he’s been trying to tell people about but he’s so misunderstood or written off as he said in the song. If you dive deep into MGK you’ll see that he’s had a lot to overcome. As a longtime fan of his it makes me so happy to see people loving this song. Thank you for reacting to this one! If you get into more of his music, PLEASE check out Glass House and See My Tears ❤. Definitely subscribed! Keep up the good work!
Coming back just let me go .... telling whats holding him back to free him ,, coming back dont let me go.... when he gets there THERE help him stay dont give up on him! Thats what i heard lol.
Pops you got it wrong, he said his dad gave his things he DIDNT want, his dad was very abusive towards him, they had a bad relationship. But everything else in the song you got right. You have an amazing father Josh, he's a vibe, he seems like a great and wise mentor.
he said his dad gave him the things that he DIDN'T want. I took it the other way, his dad leaving him with bad traits/genetics that make him vulnerable to addiction, depression, aggression perhaps
This is definitely how it was meant I think.

This is 100% correct.
Agreed. When he was growing up his dad was an alcoholic and they used to fight all the time. Then he left him to be a missionary. So I also took that as everything he didn’t want as in addiction, constant drinking/alcoholism, anger etc

Josh didn't know about MGK and Eminem beef?! HOW??
Fireeee reaction!! And especially what your pops said about love
We need more Kells reaction
When he talks about the miscarriage, that was with Megan Fox. And that's what his song last November is about.
11:09 that was a yawn from a young man who knew his pops was about to lay it out! Haha
Your dad is a great person. This song messed me up because its real for me but i live life like your dad
Y'all gotta check out his old song see my tears that song is so good.
As someone who was also supposed to die at birth, Had the umbilical cord wrapped around my neck, was like completely grey, and not breathing, That line hits different.
Pops reminds me of Victor Strand off fear the walking dead. Lol he’s a smooth cat.
I'm loving this from him ❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Damn I wish they reacted to more MGK… great reaction !
Your dad is amazing. I wish i had my dad.
Keep diving in to MGK, there’s so much more to learn!
Do some Chris Brown next🙏🏾🔥🔥
Yessir 💪🏽
First time seeing a reaction from ya’ll. I love how attentive you are to the song and the lyrics. This is a very deep song about things he’s been trying to tell people about but he’s so misunderstood or written off as he said in the song. If you dive deep into MGK you’ll see that he’s had a lot to overcome. As a longtime fan of his it makes me so happy to see people loving this song. Thank you for reacting to this one! If you get into more of his music, PLEASE check out Glass House and See My Tears ❤. Definitely subscribed! Keep up the good work!
Your pops is a legend he cool af
Coming back just let me go .... telling whats holding him back to free him ,, coming back dont let me go.... when he gets there THERE help him stay dont give up on him! Thats what i heard lol.
Pops you got it wrong, he said his dad gave his things he DIDNT want, his dad was very abusive towards him, they had a bad relationship. But everything else in the song you got right. You have an amazing father Josh, he's a vibe, he seems like a great and wise mentor.
His dad is the coolest. Wish I had mine.
MGK you have my heart 💓
That boy Josh hitting that table🔥🔥
His dad gave him bad characteristics that he's had to fight to purge.
MGK da truth love da dude
He gave us COLSON BAKER
he also said it’s not a rap or rock song just a song he liked
