Only 20 left on the road now. I bought one new when they came out. Commuted on it, and was in the TRF so it went green laning on Sundays as well. Had to get the gear selector fixed when it jammed in 2nd gear in the middle of nowhere, but it was a free Honda fix due to a design fault. Great bikes, loved the way the engine sounded like a bag of spanners on tickover but was silky smooth once the revs increased.
Had the mtx 125 bought it for £150 back in 2000 as a up the woods mess around discovered it still had a valid v5 ended up fully restoring it had wheels made as i could never find any that didn't need rebuilding cost me £300 but was worth every penny black rims Stainless spokes blue powered coated frame black plastics many replacement pistons lol but easy to work on loved that bike regret selling it to buy a car
Hello, Moi aussi une 83 J'ai adoré cette bécane !! Je collais les xt500 mais ne pouvait pas les dépasser Xt 500 mon 2eme amour L'xls 500 aussi très bien et la 250 xls de même plus sage mais sympas
Runs nicely and with 27bhp a bit pokier than the 12bhp 125 I had! Even so it was a great bike especially at 17 after a year on a 30mph 50cc!There’s also a 125 version unrestricted (JD05) with the ATAC putting out around 21bhp. Have to say though I wouldn’t ride without gloves on and I’d be inclined to test my lights and horn BEFORE I went out! 😉😁

Excellent little bike. You did a good job on it. Love the sound of the 2 stroke thumpers. Honda, the best bike going for a trailey. Enjoy it mate ✌🏼

Had both full power 125 and restricted uk model in both mbx and Mtx , mbx125 is much better in atac version than the mtx125 due to gearing
I doubt it makes 27bhp.. that’s like a rm125 lol, but still, nice bike !
