- The prime minister has announced the scrapping or watering down of some of the UK's net zero targets, pushing back a ban on diesel and petrol vehicles from 2030 to 2035 and weakening a plan to phase out the installation of gas boilers by 2035.

Same thing for the 'flight tax'
So the tories are lying as usual and you are soaking it up, as usual, mm?
As for the continued sale of ICE vehicles. Funny it is announced after the tory government met with oil producing companies to grant more licences to drill for oil and gas. Isn't it strange that his billionaire wife and her billionaire family have interests in these companies.
Must just be a coincidence that his policies all have a habit of increasing his wife and her family's vast fortunes.
Oddly enough the tories refused to invest in battery production plants in the UK that would have reduced the costs of new EVs. Right up until the Chinese BYD company, (with close links to the CCP and a long history of bribing politicians) wanted to 'build' a plant in the UK using taxpayer money. As you all know, the UK is facing a number of serious problems right now, including the cost of living crisis, the housing crisis, the healthcare crisis, and the education crisis. It's understandable that the Prime Minister may be struggling to address all of these issues at once.
However, there have been some concerns about the Prime Minister's approach to certain issues, as well as his tendency to make false statementsTax cuts for the wealthy: These tax cuts have widened the wealth gap in the UK, making it harder for the poor and middle class to get ahead. This has led to a decline in living standards for many people, and has made the UK a less attractive place to live and work.
Cuts to social programs: These cuts have made it harder for people to access essential services such as healthcare, education, and social care. This has led to a decline in the quality of life in the UK, and has made it more difficult for people to reach their full potential.
Deregulation of the financial industry: This deregulation has led to increased financial instability, and has made the UK economy more vulnerable to shocks. This has made it more difficult for businesses to invest and for people to plan for their futures.
Leaving the European Union: This has created barriers to trade and investment, and has made it more difficult for UK businesses to compete in the global market. This has led to a decline in economic growth, and has made the UK a less attractive place to do business.
In addition to these economic impacts, the Prime Minister's policies are also making the UK a less welcoming and inclusive place to live. His rhetoric has emboldened racists and xenophobes, and has made it more difficult for minorities to feel safe and accepted. This has damaged the UK's reputation on the world stage, and has made it less attractive to immigrants and tourists.

The widespread lack of understanding of climate science is concerning. Fossil fuels are the primary driver of the climate crisis and must be ended. @HDSPKSRecords-gi1ob You forgot to mention the USA. They are in the top three worst polluters. Whilst you are not necessarily wrong, the fact that there are going to be non-cooperative and irresponsible countries means that the rest of us are just going to have to work harder. The USA, China and India are not excuses for us not to do anything.
Britain claiming they will follow European leadership is a bit odd in light of Brexit, but entirely predictable.
You have confused Europe with the EU.
We are following the rest of the world Canada, Australia etc. etc. and as we are not in the EU we can do what we want
you all need to check in with what Tony Blair's policy on Net Zero currently is; he rightly points out that britain's current greenhouse emissions, and its historical emissions, are insignificant on a global scale; we are far better placed to test out green tech so it is suitable for mass implementation. Reliance on oil imports leaves us vulnerable to foreign reimes with terrible human rights records, but green energy uses many many minerals that are also under the monopoly of such countries, and Russia is one of the global leaders in production of many of these key minerals as well. We in the West cannot reasonably go Green without the cooperation of Russia; as things stand we will spend $1 billion to reduce the rise in global temperatures by 1/5,000,000th of a degree celsius, using the plans and policies we are currently tied to. It is fairly obvious that the gullible do-gooders in the west are being exploited by cynical elements in the CCP, in a similar fashion to how the USSR used to use communists in the west to hamstring the west, the difference is that the Chinese seem to be far better at it!
So the lie is now exposed, net zero will never happen, they just keep moving the goalposts…
This is the “7 Bins” speech. This is one for the ages!
Why aren't our green taxes (added to petrol prices etc) paying for improved flood defences? Also, why are employees living in provided accomodation on campus being charged a benefit in kind tax when they're only trying to be green and cut down on work related car journeys? 🤔

Will someone just at least tell us with zero carbon in precise numbers where the electricity is going to come from, even if the grid could handle it, when there is no wind. Labours response is to back business, enterprise and Green greed over the welfare of the elderly, working class and most vulnerable in society. Coupled with Starmer's visit this week to Macron with whispers of an associate EU membership I'd say significant damage has been done to his party support this week. Given that Labour Leave made up 29% of the 52% Referendum I'd say he's lost the votes of the working class and now failed to win back the huge Labour support that switched to the Tories over Brexit.
