Competitive players seem to really dislike when someone counters their main strategy. and from what I've seen in the rest of these comments I was right lmao.
Remember the cards I play are the most skilled cards in the game and require hours of practice to play properly. The cards that you play are for primates.
Any card can be skilled if used in a smart way. Some of the more famous examples are kiting with an ice golem or using a tornado for a king tower activation. For most cards, it's tough to gauge their "skill level" because you only have 10 elixir to work with at a time, which usually means up to 2-3 cards at a time. So you either need to play few cards with multiple purposes or many cards with single purposes. Usually the "few cards with multiple purposes" is seen as "unskilled" because they're expensive and kind of do everything for you, and barbarian hut is one of the prime examples of that. It handles both defense and offense for you.
Can’t believe they made Barb Hut balanced to slightly below average 4 times and then proceeded to nerf it all 4 times. Barb Hut isn’t nearly as annoying as the other spawners and it doesn’t deserve the shit it’s gotten from the balance team. I can’t believe they think the Barbarian Hut rework was good, it was one of the worst in the game’s history. Especially considering how popular Xbow has been in upper ladder for such a long time. Iirc xbow and mortar were in around 30-40% of top ladder decks combined at one point in time. It's not that easy to counter considering how much health it has and all the cheap defensive options which can be used reactively to protect it, unlike most other win conditions where you need to use your supporting troops proactively. I complain about it often because I lose almost every single match against X-bow decks since my deck is very defensive and lacks a strong offense. My strategy usually had a positive average win rate against most other meta decks before the addition of champions.

I always had a soft spot for the barb but. I liked the concept of a super tanky spawner that was great for defense. Too bad they nerfed it’s health constantly.
I always thought the problem with the spawners was putting them down and forcing you to constantly spend elixir to avoid chip damage, letting the opponent build a push you can't defend or having you ignore all the chip so you're not in an elixir deficit. I think an interesting way they could go with the barb hut is making it spawn barbs at a much faster pace, but 1 by 1. This way they would not get to the tower, but force the user to capitalize on the numbers advantage without relying on the opponent's constant elixir going to stop the waves. The skill now lays on the barb player who is using a card that's useless unless you're properly supporting the barbs coming out
@@yowza9638 No, because the barb hut is a 6-elixir commitment and if the opponent plays something slow like a bowler or musketeer, they are building up individually stronger units on their side than an occasional barbarian for a cheaper cost than the barb hut. They will have more elixir to work with on defense, and the barbs won't really do anything because they're very slow.

Trickling in RTS games is *really* weak. You're essentially spending more to not have a numbers advantage. If the opponent puts up a strong ranged option, then the barbarians will just get killed before they can do anything and you've spent 6 resources on doing nothing but give the opponent a chance to build up their own push.
This is quickly becoming one of the best youtubers on the platform. It's a shame to see how little subs you have compared to the views you get every video.

The early days were something, Spawner decks were the first time I audibly groaned when I had to face them. That being said, I do like defensive options and from what you reported this card served that role really well for what it was. I don't get this shift towards hyper aggression focused games in a lot of things nowadays, if someone wants to play lame, let them. It's up the player to figure out/build a deck around that.
I just groan every time i face hog cycle bait or graveyard now. I have never seen a company go from we want the game to be offensive to lets make all the meta deck win conditions pop up on a tower and then add 7 cycle defence cards in every meta deck every season.
I do think that defensive buildings have a place, especially against spam cards like hog rider. It promotes well-designed pushes rather than bridge spam. Great video!

@@crackersandpie136 well, it was actually faster before sc nerfed its speed. It was a surprisingly dangerous punishment/ambush card that if placed on middle for example, it can lockon the princess tower under a second.
imagine if it was 7 cost, waves 7 seconds apart, 2 per wave, rocketable, spawn 1 on death, and too big to be placed behind tower *BUT* little to no decay (5 HP a second MAX) giving it as a niche as the single most long lasting structure card. It wouldn't be spammable if it were a big building because you would run out of space if you tried to spam it. I feel a rework like this is in line with the original card's design without ruining the meta or anything.

That card was mentioned briefly in the mirror video as being problematic because mirror has a tendency to enable overpowered cards to be more overpowered due to the level increase, but it would be cool to see it gets its own video.
The E-Giant gets changed too much. He could start working on the video now and by the time it releases, E-Giant can move as fast as a Lumberjack, cost 3 elixir and reflect three times the damage. Stuff like Barb Hut and The Mirror haven't been touched in years so they are fair game, but something like E-Giant is always unstable and unpredictable
I remember using the barbarian hut before the meta picked it up in challenges, I would use it in a bridge deck and it was really fun. UNTIL ALL OF THE SUDDEN EVERYONE STARTED USING IT AND THEN THEY NERFED IT. I used all my gold on it too. 😢
I had an idea to fix the Barbarian Hut. Keep in mind that: 1: I don't play Clash Royale anymore. 2: I don't have specific numbers. Here is my idea: Part one: It doesn't spawn Barbarians over time. Yes. Really. Part two: It spawns Barbarians on destruction. Part three: The number of Barbarians increases the longer the Barbarian Hut has been on the field. 1 Barbarian is spawned at first, and 5 if it takes less than a quarter of its HP in damage. Now it can't do chip damage, so it's less annoying. It has two uses from my very limited perspective: 1: Baiting spells. 2: If it does break on its own, you get a larger push than normally possible, since your elixir will have regenerated in the time it took to break down. You spend 6 elixir on a card that doesn't put any immediate pressure on the opponent, with a potential reward of forcing the opponent to use a spell that they need to counter a different card in your deck, or a stronger push than the elixir bar would normally allow.

Possible rework: - Spawners have a limited number of units to spawn - Spawners must be manually tapped to spawn, each spawn removes building health - They’re cheaper to put down but must spend elixir (0.5-2) to spawn troops
This second idea doesn't really sound like a good idea for the game, but for a party mode, hell yeah! Would be extremely funny to just spawn like 10 spear goblins at once for 5 elixir. Basically a spear goblin army xD I think that they should consider a building champion which can use such an ability. A spawner which can, when pressed the button for 1 or 2 elixir, spawn troops worth 2 waves immediatly or something. But that would be kinda boring ngl.

I honestly dont mind the Barb hut because to me, one of the major risks youre doing is spending 7 elixir on a hut that'll eventually get destroyed. I also feel as though there was nothing entirely wrong with it, just a community thing imo.

They should drop the cost to 5 elixir, reduce amount of barbs to 4 + 1 death barb, and increase hit points to like 2k or something, and delay each wave by like 5 seconds
Have retired awhile back, I still have memories when the Barb Hut was prominent during spawner meta, before becoming futile as the game progresses. It did made a bit of resurfacing during bridge spam era, but I never see this card get talked about anymore. Sad.
I think people shouldn’t use “no skill” as an argument against a card, in fact, it could be considered a good thing since it is more forgiving then “high skill cards”

Haven’t played this game in maybe a little over a year if not more and I’m scared to go back💀feel like all of my decks will end up being changed and I have no idea what the metas like, I pushed through hog cycle with like 3 of my own decks but the experience left me scarred and I couldn’t do it anymore 💀

I like your idea of delaying the first spawn yet I feel like every card has to do something if ur dumping 7 mana, I think they should make it spawn one elite barbs on placement and another on death death and then it would get played.
I think the barb huts biggest intrigue is its cost. Honestly I think giving a high risk high potential reward reward to it by making it 8 elixir, of course there are a variety of ways supercell can rework this cards mechanics and increase its skill cap, but free to play, in app purchase, subscription based games thrive on the illusion of skill, so supercell has no real reason to rework spawning mechanics in a way that is actually fun (which they could do, being a game development studio with the ability to think through many creative visions, just because you can't imagine fun, skill based spawner mechanics, doesn't mean supercell and other people can't). It just suits their interests as greedy little weirdos more to leave these cards in the dust as gimmick cards you only see in draft battles.
I Never understand games like this that end up having loads of balance changes to people even slightly playing outside the meta the developers and playerbase wants. Like it’s obvious the devs don’t like this thing being popular so why have it in the game to begin with? It feels contradictory. You don’t want people to play outside the meta but provide ways to do that effectively and when they use those cards you basically nerf them until they’re unusable

I remember exploring with the barbarian hut a lot in the past back around when Hunter was a new-ish card. I tried barbarian hut graveyard, and even barbarian hut xbow. This was back when barbarian hut was 7 elixir too. I found the combo really fun (though toxic) and it got me to Master 1 in the old trophy road system. Each time I return to this game it seems to behave differently each time. I really hope they can find a solid spot to put it. My barb hut xbow deck still works to a degree but really is limited since I’m focused on one big win condition and can’t really squeeze in another one with it.
Edit:Oh, I just saw the info at the end of the video saying you were already working on the history of miner, but I just wanted to point that I find it a really interesting topic and would definitely want to watch in the future Video suggestion: The history of miner+spell cycle and how it got nerfed so many times and still be a solid deck up to nowadays
It was really interesting to see how miner has worked itself into so many different decks over the years. I used it with lava hound in the early days, but it's also seen a lot of usage in hog cycle decks, graveyard decks, and bait decks.

Gratz, that purposed balance change is actually genius. I think that first wave delay would work wonders, keeping it a viable card whilst limiting it's reactionary defensive capabilities. A little tweaking and I think it would fit well into a few decks, even competitively.
I haven't played Clash in a long, long time, but seeing this has made me somewhat interested. I used to do the 3 Spawner strat early in the game, using Barb, Goblin, and Skeleton, and I thought that what they had there was a little powerful, but could have stayed. The Barb. Hut was the most offensive of the three, while the Goblin Hut was the most defensive, and the graveyard (I believe that's what it is called) was mostly just for keeping enemy units away. The three together covered each other nicely, but I admit they did too well. However, I would have said to make them spawn less or something similar, thus making it so that you had to actually play other cards. The core concept of a card that can apply a small, but constant, amount of pressure is something that I don't really think is in the game currently, and I kinda miss. Even if these three are never good again, I'd at least like them to be fun.
I think the only change it ever needs is to spawn 2 barbs on death, it makes no sense for 1 barb to come out, especially since 1 will come out right before the building goes away, it’d just make more sense for one more barb to come out to complete a wave of three
I honestly prefer spawners not be viable not just the barbarian hut but all spawners because it promotes just an overly defensive playstyle instead of having to buildup an attack you just place down one two spawners and sit there eat Doritos while your opponent uses all their elixir to counter one or two waves, rinse and repeat until tiebreaker makes you the winner. It’s got no good counter as fireball doesn’t completely eliminate it and rocket makes you waste too much elixir to be able to handle the spawn troops from death. This is why I think having spawners not be viable is healthy for the game the game should promote very highly offensive decks rather then just extremely defensive decks

Goblin Hut and Furnace hitting towers over and over unless you play Cannon is cringe. Barbarian Huts are piss easy to deal with.

Personal experience tells me people underestimate it sometimes. I've downed many towers with a conveniently placed broken cart.

That card was mentioned briefly in the mirror video as being problematic because mirror has a tendency to enable overpowered cards to be more overpowered due to the level increase, but it would be cool to see it gets its own video.
The E-Giant gets changed too much. He could start working on the video now and by the time it releases, E-Giant can move as fast as a Lumberjack, cost 3 elixir and reflect three times the damage. Stuff like Barb Hut and The Mirror haven't been touched in years so they are fair game, but something like E-Giant is always unstable and unpredictable

I remember using the barbarian hut before the meta picked it up in challenges, I would use it in a bridge deck and it was really fun. UNTIL ALL OF THE SUDDEN EVERYONE STARTED USING IT AND THEN THEY NERFED IT. I used all my gold on it too. 😢

I had an idea to fix the Barbarian Hut. Keep in mind that:
1: I don't play Clash Royale anymore.
2: I don't have specific numbers.
Here is my idea:
Part one:
It doesn't spawn Barbarians over time. Yes. Really.
Part two:
It spawns Barbarians on destruction.
Part three:
The number of Barbarians increases the longer the Barbarian Hut has been on the field. 1 Barbarian is spawned at first, and 5 if it takes less than a quarter of its HP in damage.
Now it can't do chip damage, so it's less annoying. It has two uses from my very limited perspective:
1: Baiting spells.
2: If it does break on its own, you get a larger push than normally possible, since your elixir will have regenerated in the time it took to break down.
You spend 6 elixir on a card that doesn't put any immediate pressure on the opponent, with a potential reward of forcing the opponent to use a spell that they need to counter a different card in your deck, or a stronger push than the elixir bar would normally allow.
I absolutely love your videos man and thus I have a video suggestion. With Mohamed Light dominating the entirety of this game for the past like 5 years, which he gloriously showed in the last season as he finished on the first, second and third place on the leaderboard with three of his accounts, I would love to see a video of the history of clash royales undoubtedly greatest player ever

- Spawners have a limited number of units to spawn
- Spawners must be manually tapped to spawn, each spawn removes building health
- They’re cheaper to put down but must spend elixir (0.5-2) to spawn troops
Some is good though the last one would lead to rush down decks with hordes

This second idea doesn't really sound like a good idea for the game, but for a party mode, hell yeah! Would be extremely funny to just spawn like 10 spear goblins at once for 5 elixir. Basically a spear goblin army xD
I think that they should consider a building champion which can use such an ability. A spawner which can, when pressed the button for 1 or 2 elixir, spawn troops worth 2 waves immediatly or something. But that would be kinda boring ngl.

Yeah same here, started the game when jungle arena was released and quit for good after the fire spirits nerf. These vids are high quality and impressive despite being about a game which has fallen off hard.

I honestly dont mind the Barb hut because to me, one of the major risks youre doing is spending 7 elixir on a hut that'll eventually get destroyed. I also feel as though there was nothing entirely wrong with it, just a community thing imo.

I’d like to see the barb hut get reworked back to its 2016 state with super high HP and 7 elixir. It feels so awkward and purposeless at 6, I feel like a super tough building could be used in current meta

Best situation for a card to be in is with average winrate, but not being used in a popular meta deck, rather in self-made unique decks.
They should drop the cost to 5 elixir, reduce amount of barbs to 4 + 1 death barb, and increase hit points to like 2k or something, and delay each wave by like 5 seconds
Have retired awhile back, I still have memories when the Barb Hut was prominent during spawner meta, before becoming futile as the game progresses. It did made a bit of resurfacing during bridge spam era, but I never see this card get talked about anymore. Sad.

I remember spawner meta. Me and my friends called the Chozeros (from spawners being called chozas on Spanish) and hated on them so much.
Haven’t played this game in maybe a little over a year if not more and I’m scared to go back💀feel like all of my decks will end up being changed and I have no idea what the metas like, I pushed through hog cycle with like 3 of my own decks but the experience left me scarred and I couldn’t do it anymore 💀

I like your idea of delaying the first spawn yet I feel like every card has to do something if ur dumping 7 mana, I think they should make it spawn one elite barbs on placement and another on death death and then it would get played.
I think the barb huts biggest intrigue is its cost. Honestly I think giving a high risk high potential reward reward to it by making it 8 elixir, of course there are a variety of ways supercell can rework this cards mechanics and increase its skill cap, but free to play, in app purchase, subscription based games thrive on the illusion of skill, so supercell has no real reason to rework spawning mechanics in a way that is actually fun (which they could do, being a game development studio with the ability to think through many creative visions, just because you can't imagine fun, skill based spawner mechanics, doesn't mean supercell and other people can't). It just suits their interests as greedy little weirdos more to leave these cards in the dust as gimmick cards you only see in draft battles.

I Never understand games like this that end up having loads of balance changes to people even slightly playing outside the meta the developers and playerbase wants. Like it’s obvious the devs don’t like this thing being popular so why have it in the game to begin with? It feels contradictory. You don’t want people to play outside the meta but provide ways to do that effectively and when they use those cards you basically nerf them until they’re unusable

I remember exploring with the barbarian hut a lot in the past back around when Hunter was a new-ish card. I tried barbarian hut graveyard, and even barbarian hut xbow. This was back when barbarian hut was 7 elixir too. I found the combo really fun (though toxic) and it got me to Master 1 in the old trophy road system. Each time I return to this game it seems to behave differently each time. I really hope they can find a solid spot to put it. My barb hut xbow deck still works to a degree but really is limited since I’m focused on one big win condition and can’t really squeeze in another one with it.

Video suggestion: The history of miner+spell cycle and how it got nerfed so many times and still be a solid deck up to nowadays
It was really interesting to see how miner has worked itself into so many different decks over the years. I used it with lava hound in the early days, but it's also seen a lot of usage in hog cycle decks, graveyard decks, and bait decks.

a building that do bad as building, spawner that doesn't spawn much, defensive unit that doesn't really defense much, offensive that get so easily countered. this is the barb hut rn
Gratz, that purposed balance change is actually genius. I think that first wave delay would work wonders, keeping it a viable card whilst limiting it's reactionary defensive capabilities. A little tweaking and I think it would fit well into a few decks, even competitively.
I haven't played Clash in a long, long time, but seeing this has made me somewhat interested. I used to do the 3 Spawner strat early in the game, using Barb, Goblin, and Skeleton, and I thought that what they had there was a little powerful, but could have stayed. The Barb. Hut was the most offensive of the three, while the Goblin Hut was the most defensive, and the graveyard (I believe that's what it is called) was mostly just for keeping enemy units away. The three together covered each other nicely, but I admit they did too well. However, I would have said to make them spawn less or something similar, thus making it so that you had to actually play other cards. The core concept of a card that can apply a small, but constant, amount of pressure is something that I don't really think is in the game currently, and I kinda miss. Even if these three are never good again, I'd at least like them to be fun.
I think the only change it ever needs is to spawn 2 barbs on death, it makes no sense for 1 barb to come out, especially since 1 will come out right before the building goes away, it’d just make more sense for one more barb to come out to complete a wave of three

What about a video about the goblin giant? One of the few cards that has only received buffs without increasing in use rate/win rate
I honestly prefer spawners not be viable not just the barbarian hut but all spawners because it promotes just an overly defensive playstyle instead of having to buildup an attack you just place down one two spawners and sit there eat Doritos while your opponent uses all their elixir to counter one or two waves, rinse and repeat until tiebreaker makes you the winner. It’s got no good counter as fireball doesn’t completely eliminate it and rocket makes you waste too much elixir to be able to handle the spawn troops from death. This is why I think having spawners not be viable is healthy for the game the game should promote very highly offensive decks rather then just extremely defensive decks
