i wonder how many amazing recordings went up in flames when scratch burned down the ark he didnt have anyone to keep his madness in check until later in life and he still released music non stop bet he would have a massive catalog if we had them recordings that went to the spirits in way of sacrificial burnin🔥
It was an overheating in connected equipment. Maybe on purpose⁉ Lee was also threatened. Scottland Yard has investigated this. He received political asylum in a European country. An English curatotor has found many songs in his ownership.

WARNING! Bogus record credits. DO NOT BUY stuff from this label (either Kingston Sounds or Jamaican Recordings) A few of these tracks are NOT authentic Lee Perry, They were copied from a King Tubby dub LP and then a clumsy remix with MODERN digital effects was added to disguise the music and make it sound like a very bad copy of 1970's Black Ark. Unbelievable. But true.
@@avireinharz5063 None of them sound like real Scratch Lee Perry productions. Half of the tracks were copied from the LP 'Dub Me' by the Morwells and King Tubby circa 1975 but rdissued by Blood and Fire in the 1990s. But then the people who made this above LP added a didital phase shifter effect which is a poor imitation of Lee Perrys Black Ark Studio sound from the 70s. So, its a bizzare ripoff of both LSP and Tubby and its not what it says on the label. Lee Perry's genuine work is available on the excellent label Pressure Sounds. Vist their website.
I’m just getting into Dub. I love the really trippy, super outer-space stuff like this. Can someone recommend anything similar? TH-cam link? I’ve been really digging into it but this super trippy stuff is harder to find.
I was looking for the exact same thing ! Look up those ones : - Tradition CAPTAIN GANJA AND THE SPACE PATROL - Tradition in dub - Tradition Tell your friends about dub - Winston Riley - Meditation Dub - New Age Steppers/Creation Rebel - Threat to creation (some really really trippy tracks !!) - Creation Rebel - Starship Africa Look up others albums from New Age Steppers, it might interest you, it's rather experimental. Otherwise, maybe less trippy but still special : - Keith Hudson - The Black Breast Has Produced Her Best, Flesh Of My Skin Blood Of My Blood - Keith Hudson - Playing It Cool & Playing It Right I can give you more if you want. I hope you'll like it ! You'll find everything on youtube.
Nothing will be as trippy as the Lee Perry back catalogue. This is because he had access to the very best session musicians, and directed and recorded them himself, before he did his dub madness. You can find mad/creative people but you can't get access to dirt-cheap Alpha Boys School musicians like Lee Perry did. The musicianship in 70s reggae is off the charts in quality. Those were his building blocks. You can't polish a you-know-what. If you start with a rough diamond no matter what you do with it, it will be good. If you start with a bit of broken glass, even if you're the best jewellery maker (i.e. dub artist) you will not be able to make great things with it. It will still be glass.
wicked dub music would never ever die yall live on just swing your hands and shoulders back and forth move your hips and don't forget your feet its not easy way back in the days nobody on the wall unless you holding ya gal tight on the wall grinding her sexy ass yeah ya
Yes, you gotta lift your feet and knees and skank to this music! As Lee “Scratch” says, himself, in “Roast Fish and Cornbread”, “Skank it in the back yard.” Thank you for everything, Scratch!!!
just saw this... mr brown...is: from my understanding the way the weedfarmers hustled large amounts of weed into town was to come in with a funeral and no one would be bothered. mr brown was like singing out a anonymous name like mr. smith or sum sumn... mr brown is coming to town in a coffin...etc etc...
Mr Brown is a clown who rides to town in a coffin! also, nowhere to be found I'd like to know who is Mr Brown There is a possibility that he is controlled by remote....
