  • After I accidentally failed to progress Moore's questline and got locked out of getting his armor, I decided "maybe I can fight him to get it anyway". Even if I hit him he just disappears. I then decided to talk to him.
Needless to say, I am now sad.
    :(
    Why, Miyazaki?

I now don't feel as bad for actually defeating him at the end alongside the others. At least he doesn't have to live the rest of his life being lonely and depressed

You ever risk your life to read a message on a singular brick next to a bottomless abyss just for it to say "Fort Night"

Do you just need to not progress his quest for him to stay alive ?

Yes. Only talk to him before burning the sealing tree, and never talk to him again after that (which is what I did accidentally). If you do so, he'll stay alive. However I learned you can still get his armor after finishing the final boss/DLC. You need to kill a couple of non-hostile Rot Centipedes and he'll invade you. However you will have to kill him for his armor.
