For a shoulder fired, infantry weapon, a disposable launcher makes sense they are much lighter than reusable ones, but for an emplaced/vehicle mounted weapon, that doesn’t make any sense(to the best of my knowledge), since it would probably be more efficient to have an expensive, well made barrel and individual rockets since you could carry far more ammunition thanks to having to transport only the rockets and not half of the gun. What am I missing here?

The Javelin just doesn’t have the range of the TOW.

Tubular Launched, Optically sighted, Wire guided. TOW. Can follow a moving Target and hit as long as the wires touch nothing in between.

The wires are pretty thin, like 28 gauge. Copper wire will corrode over time in the elements. But dead tanks would leave much more of a mess!
