I was at the event, first ever Wildlife ROCKS event and it ROCKED! I got to meet Brian May, Kerry Ellis and David Shepherd and learnt lots about protecting wildlife. As Brian May talked about at the event, please help protest against the culling of Badgers!
This. Is. Absolutely. Fuckin. Incredible!!! I thought this was another forgotten Queen masterpiece, always been one of my favorite songs ever!! “Freddie is a genius!!” What a gift to the world!!!! Thank u thank u thank u
Kerry does a beautiful job on this song (as does Brian, of course). Her voice is so pure; this is what you call talent, not some of the stuff you hear today. Bravo for them.
I would just love to know why this beautiful song was all of a sudden started to be played a lot more than it did back when it was new in the Hot Space album, it was only played for possibly 2 weeks of the USA Hot Space tour in 1982, hmm still it's beautiful
I really didn't think this would sound so good even without Freddie singing. However I could actually hear the words of the lyrics much more clearly. For that alone it was worth listening to.
I think this performance highlights just how extraordinary Freddie's vocal range was, I don't think Kerry found this easy to sing (but it was good), Freddie's studio version though sounded like a breeze.
I'm sorry, I only got this and I Who Have Nothing - I wish I had recorded it all! Hope you enjoyed the two videos, though. I'm sure someone else will have captured the rest. x
With all due respect to the Legend Brian May, I had to disliked this video the moment the singer refused to sing "Life is a Bitch". For Freddie's sake, say it. He new what he was talking about.
It's great how she says that but then again fred did write it for his hero John Lennon so only fair to compare freddie & John as geniuses because they really were
Don't think she felt comfortable saying the word bitch in a cathedral - best female voice around in my opinion. I know everyone won't agree - but that's why we all have opinions!
I'm pretty sure she did'nt surprise May. Everything she did was agreed upon beforehand - they've always had it like that, performing the song in Freddie's commemoration thus replacing "Lennon" by "Freddie" and they both decided that the cathedral might be too much of a controversial place to use the word "bitch" the way it occurs in the song when rehearsing, maybe even the responsible priest or local catholic representative asked them to after the first rehearsal...
I have to disagree..sorry.....and this is just my opinion...and you have your opinion......Freddie wrote this song about John Lennon....but i think when Freddie and the boys played at Live Aid they did change the world.... no matter how small......and the other millions of people who's hearts he touched with his songs......he was a genius.....
Freddie Mercury did not change the world in any way shape or form. What a stupid thing to say. He was just an entertainer jumping about on stage singing his songs. Nice work if you can get it.
You can tell Brian didn't expect her changing it to "Freddie" by his expression 2:57 :D it's so sweet
I loved it ! So sweet indeed !
Freddie was a genius
i see that you touched by songs
i really love this version!!! so beautiful with the fingerstyle guitar and Kerry´s voice. brilliant!!
I'm glad they are playing this song. Not many people know this wonderful song because its on the Hot Space Album! love you Brian

A beautiful hidden gem from Hot Space 👍
you can't sing the song without being touched by it. 'I have swallowed the bitter pill: I can taste it, I can taste it, Life is real' Very powerful

Awesome! Saw them in High Wycombe and met Brian May afterwards, great evening!

Beautiful version of a beautiful song

La cara de Brian cuando Kerry dice "Freddie is a genious" es lo mejor :3
Yes, she has a nice voice :-)

I'm in love with Kerry Ellis
I think this performance highlights just how extraordinary Freddie's vocal range was, I don't think Kerry found this easy to sing (but it was good), Freddie's studio version though sounded like a breeze.

They were in Guildford Cathedral. Just showing respect.
see the RSPCA Badger culling page
3:19 life is a .... hahaha
Like how she's holding her hands during the 'breastfeeding myself' bit!
Beautiful rendition though
LOVELY!! OOH!! :)
come on Kerry just say it :D
life is a bitch..
loved this version!
It's great how she says that but then again fred did write it for his hero John Lennon so only fair to compare freddie & John as geniuses because they really were
goosebumps fuckin goosebumps
That's so silly of Kerry Ellis not to say the word 'bitch'! Grow up, Kerry!
Don't think she felt comfortable saying the word bitch in a cathedral - best female voice around in my opinion. I know everyone won't agree - but that's why we all have opinions!
I agree with you.....I saw them play live in Llandundo last year.....it was fantastic !!
yet she had no problem saying the word 'whore' which is much more offensive and unambiguous:)
Suave.. suave... suave
Freddie~~~~~~🤎
Ahahahah See Kerry epic face at 3:17 !! lol

If Adam Lambert doesn't work out she should be Queen's next singer!
This song was dedicated to John Lennon, but they re-dedicated it to Freddie. lol (=

Simply delicious.
soy yo solo me parece que Brian le costaba enganchar el ritmo en la parte del solo
Lo mismo he pensado. Igualmente quedó bien :)
life is a bitch! yes it is,
🤔
Life is a ... XD

Well, I rather go with Queen going on tour with Kerry than with Lambert.
He did. For people with aids. And dont forget Live Aid.
Soooo much better than this Lambert dude...
Lennon is a genius, Freddie's great but not a genius.
Freddie is a genious just as much as Lennon in his very own way. It's really foolish to compare them!
Saying Mercury was not a genius is as nonsensical as to say Lennon was not a genius. Its purely stupid.
Kerry and Queen? Oh yes ,it would be a great idea!
I always love her voice :-)
I'm happy to have make you discover Kerry :-)
