My neighbor with over 30 years experience as a journeyman electrician was a loop and screw guy and told me not to use the simple push the wire in connector. The reason is that the small contact area between the wire and the clip that in the simple push in outlet has much higher current density as compared to the loop method. When used with high loads area, resistive heating can occur when the contact area is small when can cause oxidation. The oxidation causes the contact resistance to increase, cascading into failure at the connection. The lever connection outlet might mitigate the shortcomings of old style push in the wire to some extent, but it still looks to have less electrical contact area than a properly formed wire loop. I'm sticking with using loops on my projects. It might not be the fastest path to completion, but I'm OK with that.
Yup, i never ever use the stab in ports. There just isn’t the contact area and oxidation can occur causing higher resistance at the wire junction causing more heat and resistant
