Broadcast legend, Al Schottelkotte. These stories were produced in 1986-1987
and originally broadcast on WCPO-TV as part of Channel 9’s 6:00 p.m. newscast.
Robert Parish, Al’s Producer for these stories, created this documentary for CET in 2005.
I was Als Spotlight Report one Sunday night in the 70s! I drove my car through the St. Bernard tunnel under the railroad tracks by Proctor & Gamble! Ofcourse my car got stuck. I was only trying to take a shortcut! But it was a walking tunnel, not for trafic. I never lived it down. People, for years later would say, Your the lady who drove through the tunnel! I was famous for awhile! I wasnt very proud.

Im only 26 so I dont quite remember this gentleman, but seeing Cincinnati in the past im so thankful that you posted this. In the last episode when they address the changes in OTR i wonder if anyone at that time stopped to consider how it would impact the community around it.

Thank you, I was born in 69 so the Schottelkotte name is the first name I know in news from my single digit youth.
Eeeeeeeeeleven o clock! Time for the Al Shottelkotte news ...I'm 62 now and remember Cincys greatest newsman!
