Have lived on the east side of Cincinnati area my entire life… the constant gray skies are the WORST… it affects my mood tremendously, so much so that I’m moving to Florida. We visit Florida often and after a few days of being back home my allergies are back in full effect as does my depression. Although There are lots of great things about Ohio in general, it comes down to weather for me. I realize that Florida has its own list of issues, but I love the sun!
I’m personally thinking of moving to Orlando from Cincy and yes the weather is great here aside from the crazy humidity and heat in the summer haha. But Florida has 3 seasons that are beautiful (fall, winter, spring) where Cincy only has 2 (fall, spring). There are no shortages of things to do in Orlando, but cost of living will reflect that for sure and also traffic can be bad
I love Cincinnati. I miss Cincinnati. We lived there 4 years and our landlord sold the house we were renting. We made a big mistake and moved to Kansas city. Sux. Trying to get back. But can't find a house. Love oakley norwood area. Lovu Cincy!
Just moved to Cincinnati and I love it. Only things that are annoying graffiti is on the rise and some people just throw trash out their car windows continuously.
Hi Eric. I lived in the city back in 2007, before the market crashed. Moved on over to the hot desert of phoenix arizona. I don't like the heat, but 4 months out of the year isn't bad. Then fall starts. Have a nice weekend.
Why does everyone think our Chilli is so unique? I always thought you had to have spaghetti underneath my chilli. And the Frischs tarter sauce thing that out of towner’s just can’t wait to eat and take back cases home with them amazes me!!
I lived in Cincinnati until abt 16 years ago. Eden Park, Findlay Market, the weather, the people, a solid economy. I live in Atlanta now and in terms of quality of life, Cincinnati is better. Atlanta is just sprawling and growing too fast for the infrastructure to keep up.
One time back in the 90's it snowed 15 inches. 2 days later it was in the 60's. People were wearing shorts, riding motorcycles with a foot of snow on the ground.
I’m from Venezuela, I came to Kentucky almost 5 years ago. I currently live in Kentucky and work in downtown Cincinnati. they are two fantastic states to live in! I think that for me what I like least about living here is the climate in winter because I come from a tropical country, however the states are prepared for each climate. your video is super educational and informative! keep it up!
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement. I just met someone else from Venezuela yesterday. She said the same thing about the winters but is loving this summer weather.
within the actual city, transportation is relatively nice and there is a free streetcar. However, you cannot get very far outside of the city or to any of the nearby neighborhoods
Love the videos! Thanks. Just found out I'm transferring to the Cincinnati airport area from Yuma, Az sometime in the next 6 months. Your videos have been giving me a good idea of what what we are in for. Looks like it will be a great place for my 8yo to grow up.
The greater Cincinnati airport is in Kentucky. Kentucky got a little pissed off at that so the name is now the greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky airport.
I live within the 275 loop but outside the 'city'. If you are someone who is afraid of city crime, you may consider doing the same. You're close enough to enjoy the city, but far enough outside to enjoy the safety of suburb life. It's also still within the range of affordable living while moving up to Mason, Lebanon or Monroe your cost of living rises dramatically.
This. You don't even need to live in Hyde Park to have a safe place to live for a decent price. Places like Miamitown or Colt have 1k square feet for under 1,000$.
When driving into Cincy from the airport, I love playing Jurassic Park theme song as I approach downtown. Start at Kyle's Lane. The skyline is epic this way!
I-71 just north of downtown - been under construction for the 3 years that I have lived here and I NEVER see construction workers working on it. They have to be the most incompetent construction company ever.
Part of the issue is State rules that prohibit working on the highway between certain hours. The crews get very limited windows to get things done. Not excusing it, just an FYI.
Oh yeah my dad had a body shop on 42 and the Cincinnati red move from from the old coffee field too too where the stadium in 70 because I was there one thing
Cincinnati love small business! I am a Potter and I make a living off my craft. My wife and I run a small LLC, and we rely on all the amazing outdoor craft markets to reach people in the tri-state. The Off Market in Oakley and Blue Ash is one off the best in Ohio.
We’re gonna be living in Cincinnati for the next few months and I’m so excited after watching this 😊 being from south texas I really hope we get to see snow
Thank You. Overall a very accurate report. I'm from Cincy/NKY. I received my education here. When I became of age I moved out to Denver, CO, stayed for 35 Yrs, got out during the "Great Recession". When I came back; I recognized how very reasonable the cost of living is to Denver. Yes, people are friendly here. Surprised me just how welcome(d) I was upon my return from Denver. I'll send this report out to friends and family. Thanks.
Moving from Boulder, Co will give You a kind of Culture Shock. Cincinnati is considerably more Conservative than Colorado. Cincinnati cost of living can be Very reasonable compared to Boulder. Look on you tube to find City by City comparisons. I wish You well.
A con for me about the weather in Cincinnati, is you can literally never tell what the weather will be because it changes every minute and does some drastic things, lol
We just moved to Cincinnati from Sacramento CA. It rains so much here. I wish it would stop so I could go ride my bike on the Loveland bike trail!! Love that trail!
Perfect North Ski slopes not mentioned. I agree, a con is the gray overcast days we have. I've lived here over 25 years and it still bothers me. But overall it's a good video you put together and a decent place to live. I think it's really weird when someone asks you what school you went to and they mean high school...that is so weird
Your comments about Cincinnati chili are spot on. I liked the cheese coneys from go, but i didn’t start eating Three Ways until maybe 6 years ago and now i eat them at least weekly. :)
I grew up in Cincinnati, I left in 2012 to move to Seattle where my brother was living, and he convinced me to move. Seattle is great but it's no Cincinnati. I was 41 when I moved so Cincinnati is a part of my genetic makeup. The one thing I always tell people, who after finding out I lived in Cincinnati (and once they stop singing the WKRP theme song) is what was the best part about it. I would say that it was a mid-sized city with big city amenities. It's great, because it's not too big, but we are not left behind when it comes to the latest and greatest things a big city usually has. We are like a big city that wasn't full of itself in a sense. The people are great, always will be. It's beautiful, the river is great and my trips to Newport and Convington were great as well. The Bengals did make it to the playoffs in the 2000's but the QB got sacked/injured early on. We had high hopes, but the fill-in QB wasn't as seasoned as he could have been. I am not a huge sports fan, but I do enjoy going to games, but I'd be lying if I were to say I knew all the names :) I did sort of at the time though. After I moved, they started getting better, and like you said they made the playoffs like five years in a row. Seattle is a huge sports town, in the same vein as Cincinnati. They are diehards and sometimes it's tough being a fan here as well. Though they did go to back-to-back Superbowls when I first moved here (or around then). I always say that when Seattle plays, I root for them UNLESS they are playing Cincy. However, if Cincy loses, then I am not as heartbroken as I would have been when I was living in Cincy. It's kind of like my team didn't win but my second team did, if that makes sense. So, it takes some of the sting out of things. You forgot to tell everyone that we put the chili on spaghetti. Everyone thinks I am mad until they taste it. Until Amazon Fresh started carrying Skyline Chili, I had to make do with Hormel. Not the same, but kind of made it less unbearable. Also, I remember in grade school, and we would all love it when we got chili spaghetti for lunch. Though it was a bit crazy hearing a bunch of fourth and fifth graders getting excited about a three way. lol. It's like "awesome, we're having a three way today!!" Oh, to be young and innocent again :) I do miss the main Public Library location. I used to do a lot of writing there and I did a lot of reading/researching things just for fun. I learned a lot about history and old Hollywood and old Comic strips that way. Cincinnati had so many options and so many activities you could do even if you were broke (which is how I grew up). I lived in Over-the-Rhine back in the 70s until about 94 then moved to College Hill and then off to Colerain Twnshp. So many great memories. And going to Sawyer Point and walking along the Serpentine Wall are memories I will always cheris.
The thing about living from Hamilton down is half the time the weather is wrong, it could say "rain starting soon" and then it's like 20 percent humidity, it could also be the opposite. Also, the city is nicknamed Porkopolis so there are a lot of good places to eat, my favorite out-of-town restaurant is probably Fords Garage in Norwood And we went to the super bowl in 2022 go Bengals!
Best Pro IMO is the cost of living here. I'm able to visit any city i want due to the affordable housing here. CON weather just sucks in general. but doesn't sound like coastal living is all that great anymore.
The theater district is top class! Shakespeare Theater, Music Hall, Broadway in Cincinnati, CSO, I can go on and on… if you like live theater, Cincinnati is your city.
The restaurants! People who visit here from out of town can’t wait to eat at Frischs, Montg. Inn, Skyline, Aglamessies, etc.. Family in for visits want to go to Frischs before they even unpack!!
I totally agree that it is the last cool place that is affordable. It reminds me of Portland, Oregon at the Turn of the Century. Tons of DIY arts scene, wish more national bands came through, but there is great bands in Cinci. West Price Hill doesn't get enough love, I had the best tacos I have had outside of San Antonio there. As someone from Philadelphia, your public transit is not that bad. Actually I was impressed. While it is mostly busses they show up on time. You can find out to the minute when the next bus is going to show up (something SEPTA sadly lacks). I wish they ran at least one bus after closing time at least from the Northside to Downtown it would make it much easier to attend shows.
I have lived in NKY for 8 years, but I am from South Jersey/ Philly. I don't think you can blame the river for lack of subway. The Delaware River is twice the size and it still has a subway. People just don't want to pay the larger cost, and the Mid-West was screwed over by the big Motor companies back in the 70s. The big three promised passes cities like Cincinnati and Pittsburgh we get rid of street cars and not build subways. The Problem was cities had to still build roads and infrastructure and pay for transit authorities and Depot's. I love Cinny,, but what doesn't help transportation is every new music and sports venue is being built downtown. The city isn't made to deal with that kind of congestion.
I come from Philly myself and most of what was said in this video is not true. This is one of the worst cities to live especially if you're black. There is no diversity, it's racist as hell, the food is awful, the transportation is poor and the people are not nice. Most are fake, backstabbing, narrowminded, haters with no personality. These people here are not nice and many have personality disorders. Good food is in Philly, it's way more diverse, it has many historical landmarks and the people aren't fake. You will know if they don't like you. The only historical landmarks Cincinnati has is Union Terminal, and the underground railroad. Cincinnati is so racist that even if a black person has a PHD they will be treated as if they didn't even have a high school diploma. Cincinnati is just a low class city made up of people who want to feel superior over others.
@chriswells2953 1. Diversity is not a good thing on its own. It has to be productive. Most people avoid diversity because it means higher crime rates. 2. Cincy has a VERY high percentage of black people compared to most Midwest cities. Not many Hispanics or Asians, but plenty of Blacks. 3. Anywhere that has a lot of diversity has a lot of "racism." That's because people have lived around each other enough to be victims of the other groups, so they learn not to trust them. There is not "getting over racism," that's impossible because it's a self preservation survival instinct...and frankly, it works.
Many great suburbs, townships, and villages on the 275 loop. So many things to do around and inside that loop, as well. Many great golf courses to play.
Been here for a year and came from nyc, the Cincinnati chili is the same chili that's on hot dogs and ny. Not great not bad, you can definitely find better chili than sky line or Goldstar. I also still think it doesn't belong on noodles lol
Now THAT is a pro I can agree with. I was a frequent flyer as a kid, then passed the torch to my younger daughter. When she was 16, she was playing blindfolded Marco Polo and ran fast as she could into a tree. I took her to Children's- again. 5 serious looking docs had her in a huge neck brace. She had a couple cuts on her face and one side was swelling up. They were asking her questions like did she hit the windshield? And she would just give them a confused look. Finally, one of the docs asked was she wearing a seat belt. Finally she's like "oh I wasn't driving. I actually RAN into a tree." I saw the smirks as they started looking at each other over her mangled body. Three of them dramatically turned away, snatching off their gloves, shaking their heads. 🤣 On the way out, one came back and said "I knew I've seen you before. Listen, when you feel the urge to say to your friends "hey! Watch this!"- DON'T DO IT!!! Wise words.

another great thing is in northern Kentucky and mostly Covington there's a big football and cheer community for children. I grew up in Covington and did cheer for years and met a bunch of amazing people and we always had a lot of fun especially with the Tiger Bowl (it's basically like the super bowl but with every age group) and rain or shine we play and cheer and the football and cheer community actually help the community a lot with different things either being fundraising for the homeless or at risk people or community service and volunteering to help different people. it also helps single parents be able to work later because it's after school and no matter your situation the parents and organizers are willing to help you out weather it be you need someone to pick your kid up from school to get them to practice or you can't afford to buy new cleats and they either have an old or extra pear that your kid can have

We have been shopping for a building lot and it seems like they sell at a real premium. Either the production builders buy up big tracts and throw up cheaply built houses, or the lot is an individual one where you have to spend more money to tear down the existing house before building.

Also Coordinated River Boat Cruises, Rides to Casino's and Horse Races, Train Rides to the Golden Lamb in Lebanon.
Also extended tours of Wright Patterson AFB and the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton.
Lovu Cincy!
I used to live in Loveland for an school exchange and I have so many great memories here. Thanks 4 the video!
Just moved to Cincinnati and I love it. Only things that are annoying graffiti is on the rise and some people just throw trash out their car windows continuously.
Glad you love it!
@@TeamSztanyo please for the safety of others, dont move to the Buckeye State!
Heres proof ;) 💀💀

Yep.I just recently started to look into relocating and Cincinnati is better in terms of quality of life
Sometimes you get all 4 seasons in one day.
True statement! 😂
So true!😅😅😅
6 months sweltering, 6 months freezing. The rest of the year is quite nice
One time back in the 90's it snowed 15 inches. 2 days later it was in the 60's. People were wearing shorts, riding motorcycles with a foot of snow on the ground.
lol
Biggest con: bipolar weather, 95 one day, 65 the next with the same skies (I'm not even exaggerating
This is not false.
Also true
I was looking for this lol
It’s like that everywhere in the Midwest
I always say that if you don't like Cincinnati weather, just wait 5 minutes.
I came from New York 5 years ago and Cincy is home now
@Matty's World Glad to have you.
Mariby, mi esposa es de Ccs y nos vamos a mudar a Cincinnati. Como es la vida por ahi?
within the actual city, transportation is relatively nice and there is a free streetcar.
You're welcome! Glad to hear they are helpful. Let me know if you need anything for your move.
The "Cincinnati" airport is in Kentucky
I’m moving to AZ from NC soon!
The greater Cincinnati airport is in Kentucky. Kentucky got a little pissed off at that so the name is now the greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky airport.
Suburbs are super safe around cinci. There’s a little bit of everything too
Watching from Nepal..lovely video
It’s too cold and gray for me I’m probably going to move somewhere else. Allergies also get really bad during the spring.
I’m also a Steelers fan so life kind of sucks right now
I live within the 275 loop but outside the 'city'.
I want to live there!!!! I passed by and omg beautiful once you go down hill from 71 wow!!!!
Good video! Live in central KY and always enjoy visiting Cincy. Plenty to do and not over crowded like other cities
Agreed, would like to live there as well
Thank you!
Excellent I live in Orleans. Got me wanting to take a visit
Excellent content. Thank you for doing my homework!
Happy to help!
When driving into Cincy from the airport, I love playing Jurassic Park theme song as I approach downtown. Start at Kyle's Lane. The skyline is epic this way!
Especially at night!
Stay away from I 75 going across the bridge into the city.
I-71 just north of downtown - been under construction for the 3 years that I have lived here and I NEVER see construction workers working on it. They have to be the most incompetent construction company ever.
Probably has something to do with money and budgets, not the construction company.
75 has been under construction for over 20 years!!!!
@@myrasmama your Not realistic
THERE is more money than you would ever believe
They work on it around 3 am. I know I see them out when coming home from a late shift
Part of the issue is State rules that prohibit working on the highway between certain hours. The crews get very limited windows to get things done. Not excusing it, just an FYI.
I drill the piers for the homes for buy one ty
Oh yeah my dad had a body shop on 42 and the Cincinnati red move from from the old coffee field too too where the stadium in 70 because I was there one thing
Cincinnati love small business! I am a Potter and I make a living off my craft. My wife and I run a small LLC, and we rely on all the amazing outdoor craft markets to reach people in the tri-state. The Off Market in Oakley and Blue Ash is one off the best in Ohio.
Love it!
You didn’t mention the Cincinnati Cyclones when talking about our sports teams! They’ve won multiple championships! Hockey is loved sport here 😁
We’re gonna be living in Cincinnati for the next few months and I’m so excited after watching this 😊 being from south texas I really hope we get to see snow
Surprised me just how welcome(d) I was upon
my return from Denver. I'll send this report out to friends and family. Thanks.
Kind of you. Thanks!
Overall do you like Denver or Cincinnati better? I’m gonna be moving from Boulder, Colorado to Cincinnati soon
Moving from Boulder, Co will give
You a kind of Culture Shock. Cincinnati is considerably more
Conservative than Colorado.
Cincinnati cost of living can be
Very reasonable compared to
Boulder. Look on you tube to find
City by City comparisons. I wish
You well.
A con for me about the weather in Cincinnati, is you can literally never tell what the weather will be because it changes every minute and does some drastic things, lol
Thanks for the video. Will know in 2 weeks if we move from Europe to Cincinnati
As a local I recommend this video 💯
We just moved to Cincinnati from Sacramento CA. It rains so much here. I wish it would stop so I could go ride my bike on the Loveland bike trail!! Love that trail!
The Loveland bike trail is amazing. :)
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Your comments about Cincinnati chili are spot on. I liked the cheese coneys from go, but i didn’t start eating Three Ways until maybe 6 years ago and now i eat them at least weekly. :)
Moved to Downtown Cincinnati in February from NYC (born & raised) and I love it here!!!
Awesome! What do you love about it?
How do you like it after 2 years?
For tennis fans, you get to see the top tennis players in August during the Western & Southern Open. It is a wonderful tournament.
Amazing event if you like tennis. All the pros in a laid back atmosphere (which is a big reason they love it and all come).
The thing about living from Hamilton down is half the time the weather is wrong, it could say "rain starting soon" and then it's like 20 percent humidity, it could also be the opposite.
Also, the city is nicknamed Porkopolis so there are a lot of good places to eat, my favorite out-of-town restaurant is probably Fords Garage in Norwood
And we went to the super bowl in 2022 go Bengals!
They do kind of work their way into your instincts after a while.
I was so disappointed when I found out skyline and goldstar weren't national franchises...
Heard lotsa people been moving to cincinnati lately so prices gone up. Any update on the housing?
I live in West Price Hill. Where did you get your tacos? Have you tried Tacos Time yet?
1st place I encountered a ghost was in Western Hills at a friend's house. The hills in winter suck also!!
Good insight. Thanks for sharing.
AND not bike friendly (7 hills).
@chriswells2953
Many great golf courses to play.
thinking of moving and building a restaurant there! so far like it after 3 times visiting!
We do have a subway system its abandoned and so cool down there
Been here for a year and came from nyc, the Cincinnati chili is the same chili that's on hot dogs and ny. Not great not bad, you can definitely find better chili than sky line or Goldstar. I also still think it doesn't belong on noodles lol
Thank you for the video. I'll be going to school there in 2 months and can't ✋️
I go to Cincinnati once a year to go to Cincinnati childrens hospital it is the best hospital for my cundeshin, I always wanted to live in Cincinnati
Wise words.

My husband and I are contemplating moving to Cincinnati …. We have a pet domesticated mini goat (she really is quieter/behaved better than most dogs) and have read that there is no ordinance against having goats as backyard pets…. Do you know where I could find more information on that?
Easiest way would be to call the zoning departments of the areas you would consider. I do have some friends with goats. 🐐
If you move anywhere in the Western half of Boone County you won't encounter any goat issues, same for Southern Kenton/Campbell.
Cincinnati have some great places that people don't know about I know I used to live there the subway museum and did you know 75 or Tuesday highway 2
Man, this seems like a perfect fit for me!
4 down sides.
1) Allergies
2) Tornados in spring.
3) Getting snowed in for days.
4) Serious sog alert days
2 up sides
1) Beautiful in Fall.
2) Mild summer temperatures.
I lived in the Delhi area for a few years. 3rd spring I was headed back to Texas
Tornadoes when ??? That’s rare in Cincinnati
The forests..the hills// moved from home 50 years ago../still send off for my Frisch sauce and skyline chili.
I've lived in Cincinnati my whole life and would never want to live anywhere else. Our city is rich in history, chalk full of things to do, and is so so beautiful!
another great thing is in northern Kentucky and mostly Covington there's a big football and cheer community for children. I grew up in Covington and did cheer for years and met a bunch of amazing people and we always had a lot of fun especially with the Tiger Bowl (it's basically like the super bowl but with every age group) and rain or shine we play and cheer and the football and cheer community actually help the community a lot with different things either being fundraising for the homeless or at risk people or community service and volunteering to help different people. it also helps single parents be able to work later because it's after school and no matter your situation the parents and organizers are willing to help you out weather it be you need someone to pick your kid up from school to get them to practice or you can't afford to buy new cleats and they either have an old or extra pear that your kid can have
Thanks for sharing!

We are thinking about moving to Cincy
My interest in Cincinnati I'm going through a divorce a very horrible divorce and I'm looking for a fresh start my sister lives in Cincinnati Ohio she's invited me to live with her so I'm strongly considering moving to Cincinnati
I grew up in Cincinnati and moved to Pittsburgh in my 30s. I REALLY miss Skyline Chili! I went to nursing school there and I still visit Cincy to go to Kings Island with my kids.
You forgot about Xavier university it's in the beginning of Norwood don't go south on Montgomery Rd to far down if walking
Cincinnati has two Costco and one Sams Club. What else can you ask for, besides better traffic.
We have been shopping for a building lot and it seems like they sell at a real premium. Either the production builders buy up big tracts and throw up cheaply built houses, or the lot is an individual one where you have to spend more money to tear down the existing house before building.
Spot on. Do you have a builder selected if you end up finding a lot? I know a great custom builder.
Where is the best kayaking in Cincy
100% LEGIT. Cincy, coming north on 75 is the greatest skyline in the US. No disputing it. Great city, people, culture. The indie music scene? ...just can't do goetta though.
