Colonel Hunny Bakshi Explains Everything About Covert Ops Unit of TSD & How He Was Persecuted

- Colonel Hunny Bakshi was commander of Technical Support Division (TSD).
Technical Support Division (TSD) was an ad hoc Indian Army Military Intelligence unit formed in 2010 under the then Chief of Army Staff General V K Singh. After the functioning of the TSD was questioned for falling prey to politics, including politics between the three military chiefs, among other things, it was disbanded in 2012 following the retirement of General V K Singh after all officers assigned to the division were transferred out and nobody new replaced them.
Due to the covert nature of the unit, not much is publicly known about their operations. Media leaks and reports by various agencies have led to some details being uncovered. Initial reports related to the team were positive, and missions were successful.
TSD specialized in creating deep assets and surveillance. By the time they disbanded, the unit had created a large number of assets and contacts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. TSD also tracked Syed Salahuddin, the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief, receiving praise for the same. A board of officers report also mentioned operations by the TSD in the Northeast.
TSD has allegedly conducted over 8 covert operations abroad. Details regarding these operations are sparse, but they include:
Operation inside an Inter-Services Intelligence office in Faisalabad, Pakistan
Turning a secessionist chief in a province of a neighboring country
Carrying out "eight low-intensity bomb blasts in a neighboring country"
When active, the TSD was also credited with stopping the flow of illegal arms to Naxals in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh from insurgents in the North-East and Myanmar. It has also been claimed that TSD was responsible for capturing two highly ranked terror group leaders and extracting them to India.

my father laid down his life in wokha, nagaland fighting in an operation. i can relate to him when he says, it took a lot of sacrifice to make north east peaceful. Trust me its a great place to be in. Nagas are great people. I would consider myself lucky to have a Naga brother beside me. Col Hunny Bakshi has no parallel in the Annals of Indian Army.
He did not rise in rank only because he was Int corps and then injustice done to him.
For many he is a true Lt Gen if not more.
He is a glaring example of how we have snatched prime seven years+ of his life for doing exemplary service to the nation which not many could ever do.
The Colonel is a very intelligent man with common sense.
We need him to be in political sphere of our country. He can choose his Political Party, we must back people like him.

41:00 we made big effort to convince them to come to mainland. Let’s accept them. So sad some of our mainland Indian still don’t think they are Indian. Hope it will change.
It will take time. There are many intiative taken by government to sensitise the kid from very early age (as suggested by famous meghalaya IAS officer). You start seeing changing with passing year. Cultural prejudice take time to shatter. And, I hope we see end of it.

Congress de-banned TDS for Arms lobby, for corporates bcoz VK singh denied tetra's deal, col bakshi and col purohit faced alot, all only bcoz of UPA, They are alwaz in hand glove with enemies, whoever came b/w they literally destroyed them.
