Great review. I really liked the focus on fins. If you like the Orcas without the trailer, you should try the Britt Merrick Twin. That is my favorite fin set up right now. It has great hold going back side and I have yet to slip out with the Brit Merrick Fins. I am a bigger guy at 195, but would be really interested to hear your review of them.
Nice Snaps! My Brada Cheee 🤙🏽 I love how you show the whole wave, specially with the paddling!!! That way we get an idea how the board paddles. Mahalo from Hawaii. When you heal up! Please 🙏🏽 give the Too Fish another Review. I just bought the Machado Cado in a 5’2 @ 25.9 L Brahhhhhh 🔥 Board Rips and Grovels 5’6 155lbs Much Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
definitely planning to give the Too Fish another go, especially with different fins. I'm hoping to get on the 5'2 cado soon as well. once my ear heals up.
Great review! I’m trying to fill a spot in my quiver above the Mashup for higher performance in bigger and better waves. I’m between the SciFi & GWT. Thanks for any thoughts you have!
I think the SciFi is more all around but if you don't want too much overlap, then GWT. I would say the SciFi and Mashup overlap around 30 to 50 percent depending on how big your ride both. the GWT is more like 10 to 30.
By far the Orca twins look the best which is a smidge off of the EN Futures line. IF I were you I would do the K2.1 template thruster and the K2's keel twins OR the True Ames Gemini asymmetrical fins (50% off NOW per their site!) ....... Best three sets for me ever period (and I've tried dozens).
@@ThomyeSurfs always worked for me on ANY twin hence more raked gave me smoother carves front side and more upright gave me backhand vertical surfing regardless if it was my Ryan Burch asymmetrical pickle fork or a common fish ....... So much so I bought three of the same sets within a two year experimental phase! $50 sale all time low now vs. $85 - 90 then!
I tried it in the GWT when I had it for demo day. The waves were too small that day for me to compare. But if I had to compare was in the middle of riding a ORCA as a pure twin and the Kraken as a 2+1. When I used the Endorfins, I think it has the bigger trailer, but i'm not entirely sure.
@@10SNE1 I personally liked both, I think a smaller/medium type twin front fins with small trailer for bigger days. A bigger twin fin with no trailer for smaller days. but if you told me I could only do one setup, I would choose twin only for this board. It just went so well with the Orcas that I don't think I would miss the trailer.
@@mocean365 I thought so too, originally thought it would be too performance for my break and thought the video would showcase that but it did well in really small waves, better than expected. Obviously something like the Mashup works better in small soft stuff, but the GWT held its own. especially as a true twin.
@@ThomyeSurfs right on! Same with the FE..with a straight twin on waves with even just a little curve you can surf even tiny waves. Very intrigued by the GWT! Great white twin plus dorsal!😃
I'm using the Soloshot 3+. It's not perfect but the only option out there besides spouse and kids. Even then, soloshot is more dependable, you will never catch it looking at tick tocks on your best wave. Can't say the same for my kids. :( LOL
@@papamarban2185 5'8 is likely too much for me. it would work and grovel better than the 5'7 but then if i wanted more grovel, I would go to a different board. the 5'7 for me was perfect performance for a twin.
Nice! It's amazing how much fins make a difference. You've probably saved a lot of people a lot of money by doing this comparison.
Sweet Sweet yeeeaaahhh yeeeaaahhh!! Awesome 411 breaaaakkkkdooowwwn!!

Love the review! I’m really thinking of getting a GWT. Quick question, what fin bag do you have, looks like something I want. Thanks!
It is the 8 fin box by FCS. They also make a 4 fin version

asym fins, that sounds super interesting.

Release the Kraken 🐙! Great review once again T. You thinking about trying the Slater/Firewire Endorfins 2 + 1 setup?

do you use a trailer on the FE?

what size gw riding
5'7 version. At 27.5, it is still above my performance board volume, but in my grovel range.
