This is my first time VIEWING channel!!! You are simply AMAZING!!! Your artistic talent is EXTRAORDINARY! The detail and precision you put into your sculptures are second to none!!! I enjoyed watching the process!!!
Oh my Lord!!! The amount of details and information I’ve learned today are very precious. Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge keep posting please 🙏🏾🌹
@@Kenza_15a oh yes sure dear, i bake some of my sculpture most especially those with very delicate shape over my fine sand bedding because in doing this method, it prevents the sculpture from deforming or flattening during the curing process, the heat makes the clay soft for few seconds which if the sculpture is only laid over a piece of tile that may cause flatenning because of its own weight.😊 Other artist use cornstarch, baking soda etc. But I think I am the only one who used sand😊 hope i made my explanation clear dear. Thank you.
Many thanks for the kind compliments my friend, I really appreciate it. Sure! I will try to make that Jumping spider in one of the future episodes. Thank you so much for this cool request😊🙏💚
I've just discovered this channel and I'm utterly amazed. Not only are they amazing sculptures, you're teaching viewers about the craft and the creature you're making....Full kudos to a brilliant channel, keep up the great work...
This is absolutely amazing, thank you for sharing your process so that we can learn! I’m new to polymer clay and videos like yours are such an inspiration!
Your sculpts are always amazing. I love how clever your techniques are, I'd have never thought of making a "cast" of air dry clay. One question, is it just sand what you're using to put the sculpt in for the final bake?
Thank you so much, dear Paula, i truly appreciated the compliments 😊🙏 Yes it's just a bedding of pure fine arabian sand. Not to brag but I am the first clayer who used the sand bedding technique. And you must try it dear its so efficient in preventing your sculpture from deformation during baking.😊
Thanks Jomon, but if you don't mind brother may i ask, which specific part/s of it makes you said it is both female and male? By the way, I didn't model this one for a museum therefore I'm not stick stifly to the precision. haven't seen real/alive one in person yet.
@@LifeofClay sorry for the late response - here’s the basics: ▪️ [Like any other wing-on-wing chirping cricket] the males have a [prominent] stridulatory organ at the upper base of the wings immediately preceding the thorax. ▪️ The females fulfill the suborder name “Ensifera” (Latin for “sword bearer”) with the ovipositor that proceeds from the back tip of the abdomen. I hope this helps and you have a great day👍🏾
@@LifeofClay I suggest you try insect taxidermy, it's quite interesting and (on some species) is easy! I've been wanting to take it up myself for the past few months
Thank you very much, dear Kelli😊🙏 For mammal i suggest my River otter For insect i suggest my Asian Hornet For fish i suggest my Flowerhorn For arachnid i suggest my black widow spider😅 sorry i categorically suggested. Wish you good luck my dear, and i will greatly appreciate if you tag me on my dacebook or IG once you finished your project/s. Again thank you so much dear😊🙏💚
I think a water-based polyurethane clear/gloss varnish will work for the cured clay. And for the resin, resin itself mixed with your pastels or better alcohol inks is the best.
Greetings from Philippines! Thanks for having you here in my channel, dear friend. The materials I've used in all of my Sculptures are generally Polymer Clay (oven-baked clay) with different brands.😊

@@LifeofClay 🌹could you explain why you used sand to bake it, please? Greetings from France 🇫🇷

Very cool sculpture… Just one discrepancy. You’ve made it both male and female… Was that intentional?

I have a suggestion, a giANT forest ant, or you could also do titanomyrma gigantea
Oh what an interesting species they are, sure i will put them on my to sculpt list.
