Thx for the video! I just installed a new screen with built in backlight to my s3000xl. Thx to your video, I knew it wasn't that big of a deal to do and now my sampler has a sweet negative white on black display which looks great, is easy to read and the best thing: no anyoing inverter noise anymore!
Thanks for the video BJ just bought a replacement backlight from Matt at Retro too. your video took all the mystery away really intuitive everything worked out fine gonna fit a emulator drive too keep those videos coming fam
Easy bizzy nice one for the videos!!!..Just picked up a s3200xl...the lower set of buttons particularly load & save at times takes a few heavy presses to respond..guess just warm over years of use,..any tips on improving this or repairing
Hi Brian, I replaced the display backlight on my AKAI S3200XL but I realized that there are problems with the power supply inverters. I need the service manual, do you own it or do you know where to find it? Or does anyone know any way to help me? Thanks in advance to everyone!
Instead of cutting off the wires, I have cut them off at cable level and put over some shrinking tube to prevent any short circuit. You could also just leave the cable on it and pull it inside the machine as a loose cable.
Top video, I'm just getting more interested in hardware instead of using software all the time. I noticed in a few videos, is the first function button under the screen upside down?

Just reconnecting it to my old G3 Mac and transfer it all using MESA. Your vids have been very helpful. It's been over 20 years since I last used my Akai.
Hi Brian. After 12 years of waiting and searching for the add ons to appear on ebay and snap them up I've finally found the Flash ROM Boards and need help configuring the pins. One is an original FXM008 Flash ROM board and the other is the later version FMC001 Flash ROM board and there are configuration pins on them which I'm a little stuck on. Any chance you can shed some light on how to set them up or know of anyone who might be able to help please. Check the video of the pins here to be clear th-cam.com/video/6vwPYzCFPEQ/w-d-xo.html I've also upgraded the EB16 FX Board, IB304 Filter Board, OS onto the Chip like yours and the RAM to 32MB. Great vid Bizzy. Are the jumper settings the same for the 3200xl? And where can I get the jumpers frm?
